It has been said countless times before that Marvel Studios and the MCU do not like to leave loose ends. Although the finale of X-Men ’97 was one of the most iconic episodes of the animated series, Marvel Studios also completed the loop after 31 years!

“The brave are always the first to die”
It was 1992 when Magneto said an iconic line in the original animated show X-Men: The Animated Series. When the mutants (including Wolverine) chose to get in the Blackbird to face Bolivar Trask and Master Mold to save President Robert Kelly, Magneto considered it a suicide mission.

X-Men ’97 is already nailing everything and scoring an eternal place in its viewers’ hearts, with more than 90% of audiences and nearly 100% of critics impressed by the immaculate way this story has been helmed. Plus, this saga doesn’t seem to want to stop anytime soon, because it already has a season 2 greenlit while the first one still airs, meaning there’s more peak entertainment incoming.
X-Men ’97.
That being said, this peak entertainment could also bring about the possible event of the mutant superheroes fending off against the earth’s mightiest heroes, i.e. the Avengers. And while that is yet to be officially confirmed, Ross Marquand, the actor who plays Professor X in this animated series, has ignited the hope of that happening, nonetheless, with some really relatable reasoning.
X-Men vs The Avengers? Could Happen, Says Ross Marquand
[Warning: Don’t read ahead if you haven’t watched X-Men ’97 but are planning to watch it. Spoilers ahead of the same.

In the post-apocalyptic horror world of The Walking Dead, relationships can be fleeting and rare. Daryl Dixon, the beloved loner played by Norman Reedus, has suffered from a fair amount of grief and heartbreak throughout the series. So when a potential love interest came knocking in the form of Leah (played by Lynn Collins) in season 10, fans were thrilled as well as hesitant.
Can a man hardened by loss and survival find space for romance in a world overrun by walkers? Well, regrettably, following his brief on-screen romance with Collins in season 10, Reedus had to deal with the wrath of The Walking Dead fans, who were gripped by intense emotions.

X-Men '97 has featured a handful of memorable cameos from some high-profile Marvel characters, including Spider-Man and Captain America.
The latter is best known for leading The Avengers, and with everything this world's mutants are going through - including Magneto seemingly declaring war on humanity - could a clash between them and the X-Men be on the horizon?
Talking to ComicBook.com (via Toonado.com), Professor X actor Ross Marquand shared his belief that there's "a real chance" the two teams go head-to-head in an animated adaptation of Avengers vs. X-Men.
"You saw what happened in the last episode [with] Rogue and Captain America," Marquand started. "There's a real chance that that could happen. He can't fly. Captain can't fly. She threw that in the side of a snowy mountain."
"I'm sure it's lodged in there 50 feet deep. He ain't gonna find that shield," he joked. "It's not like Mjolnir where...

The MCU seems to have hit a rough patch lately with its movies. But things have been more positive on the TV side, with WandaVision, Loki, and Moon Knight garnering universal acclaim. The latest win for the franchise takes the form of X-Men ’97, a continuation of the classic animated X-Men series from 1997.
The show has been praised by fans and critics for staying true to the spirit of the original series while also feeling modern and fresh. In a recent episode, X-Men ’97 pulled off an important scene that could have major repercussions, not just for its characters but the MCU as a whole. In fact, a recent interview with one of the cast members of the show hinted at how the scene could lead to a showdown between the X-Men and the Avengers.

Spoilers for "X-Men '97" follow.
You may not remember that the original "X-Men" cartoon from 1992 kicked off a flurry of '90s Marvel cartoons sometimes known as "The Marvel Animated Universe." This universe is less well known than the contemporary DC Animated Universe ("Batman: The Animated Series" up to "Justice League Unlimited"). The DC cartoons were overseen by a single creative team, so the connections were organic and culminated in story arcs. The Marvel cartoons, though? They all aired simultaneously (rather than in succession like the DC ones) and had different creators, so the most intersection was occasional crossovers.
"X-Men '97" remains laser-focused on the marvelous mutants, but it hasn't been shy about including cameos from other corners of the Marvel Comics setting. Episode 6, "Lifedeath – Part 2" featured Ronan The Accuser (you might remember him as the villain in "Guardians of the Galaxy"). Episode 7, "Bright Eyes," saw Rogue butt heads with Captain America.

Could Invincible be getting more seasons on Prime Video? According to Skybound Republic, an investment/crowdfunding site that allows fans to invest in the label, more episodes of the ultra-violent comic book action series are coming. In a since-deleted portion of the webpage, the site said Invincible Season 3 is in production, while the show had been renewed for Seasons 4 and 5. The webpage promotes a video game set in the Invincible universe, which fans can help fund. The crowdfunded project sits at $442,700 as of this posting, with 14 days to go in the campaign.
A portion of the mission statement for the campaign describes why making a video based on a licensed property causes some problems:
“Most crowdfunded video games are centered around indie games, and retail investors rarely have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of Aaa game publishers. Skybound is developing a highly produced, high-octane blood bath that is anything but indie.

Marvel’s Avengers can be described as many things, but a successful game is not one of them, and the live service structure that Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics went with is one of the culprits. Failing to achieve the same success as the live-action films from the MCU, the game had the potential to improve where the films lacked, but it turned out to be a major disappointment.
Marvel’s Avengers Could Have Utilized Ultron Better Than the MCU
James Spader made his first and last appearance as Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and a version of the character was teased in Marvel’s Avengers.
The game was originally conceived with the idea of constant updates and content support from developers and an overarching story meant to span multiple seasons. Ultron was meant to appear as a villain, and actor Jim Meskimen had already recorded dialogue before the untimely cancellation.

Although he has made some memorable on-screen appearances, Ezra Miller’s career seems to be on a downward spiral, as the Hollywood actor has been fired from yet another major project. Namely, when the seventh episode of Amazon’s adaptation of Invincible aired, titled “I’m Not Going Anywhere”, the character of D.A. Sinclair appeared once again, but unlike season one, he was not voiced by Ezra Miller anymore. This came as a sort of surprise for everyone, as it had not been announced that Miller was fired from the series. The character is now voiced by Eric Bauza.
The second part of Invincible‘s second season premiered on March 14, 2024, after a several-month break and no information about Miller being recast had been released; Deadline has contacted Amazon, but no official statement has been released regarding this change in the voice cast of the series.

It appears Ezra Miller was quietly recast as mad scientist D.A. Sinclair in Season 2 of Prime Video’s Invincible.
Miller voiced the character in one episode in the first season of the adult animated series, but when Sinclair appeared in the March 28th episode, the character was voiced by Eric Bauza.
Deadline has reached out to Prime Video for comment.
Miller, embattled star of The Flash and Fantastic Beasts, has been embroiled in multiple scandals. Last year, they pleaded guilty to unlawful trespassing in a burglary case in Vermont after cutting a plea deal ahead of the hearing. In 2022, Miller agreed to mental health treatment after a string of run-ins with the law.

One of the best things about the X-Men is the vast roster of characters that allow a myriad of people to see themselves as a member of the mutant superhero team. But if you were a kid who wanted to be all of the mutants, you may have gravitated towards Morph, the shapeshifter who could temporarily take on the appearance and superpowers of any other mutant out there. During my childhood years, there was many an argument about who would get the honor of pretending to be Morph on the playground.
Even though Morph (originally voiced by Ron Rubin) seemed to meet his maker in the first episode of the original "X-Men: The Animated Series," the character eventually returned from his presumed grave, albeit under the influence of the villain Mr. Sinister. Morph used his shapeshifting abilities to create chaos among the X-Men on many occasions, but thankfully, he was only acting on Mr.

This X-Men ’97 article contains spoilers.
Cue that iconic theme tune because X-Men ‘97 has us squeezing back into our colorful spandex once again. It’s been nearly 27 years since “Graduation Day” saw X-Men: The Animated Series bow out in style, and while Fox’s X-Men movies and the Marvel Cinematic Universe have changed how we see Charles Xavier’s Gifted Youngsters, it feels good to be home with this nostalgic cartoon caper.
Picking up events several months after the season finale seemingly closed the book on X-Men: The Animated Series, the class of ‘97 is still living in the shadow of Professor X’s “death” in the two-part series premiere. Morph and Bishop are on the team and in the credits, while Magneto has had an apparent change of heart, choosing to honor Charles Xavier’s final wish that he take over leadership of the mutant team.

If you are a millennial of a certain age, there’s a good chance Disney+’s X-Men ’97 will evoke nostalgic chills almost without trying: The theme song alone, borrowed from the original X-Men: The Animated Series, will be enough to transport some of us, Ratatouille-style, into memories of Saturday mornings bingeing cartoons over sugar cereal.
But as demonstrated by one failed remake or middling reboot after another, getting people to remember they used to like a show is one thing. Getting those people to fall in love with it again, and recruit new fans along the way, is entirely another. Mark’s time to think is over: “Invincible” Season 2, Part 2 has just premiered.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is likely to be the last we see of Rick Grimes and Michonne … at least for awhile. Though AMC has not yet confirmed it, this six-episode Walking Dead spinoff seems like the perfect opportunity to conclude Rick Grimes’ story.
Rick actor Andrew Lincoln exited the flagship Twd series midway through its ninth season so that he could spend more time with family in England. Michonne actress Danai Gurira departed in season 10 so she could move on to a movie career that includes playing Dora Milaje warrior Okoye in multiple Marvel films. Getting both performers back for one more stint in The Walking Dead universe was no small feat. Based on something that happens in The Ones Who Live‘s premiere, the show is very much aware of it. What a time to be alive for superhero fans. We have '90s "X-Men" throwbacks to cater to the Millennial demographic, "Deadpool & Wolverine" is already shattering records and is about to become the obsession of every Ryan Reynolds-loving normie you know, and even "Madame Web" came through to deliver the early aughts superhero disaster you never knew you needed.
In the midst of it all is "Invincible," the Prime Video animated series that has quickly become a darker, edgier, and more violent alternative for fans who can't quite get their fix from Marvel or DC on the big screen. Now in its critically acclaimed second season, the show doubled down on the blood and gore in the continued adventures of Mark Grayson. The teen superhero-in-training has had to survive high school, face off against his sociopathic father, and even contend with a multiverse twist, but season 2 has left...

The final half of “Invincible” is nearly here, and Prime Video has released the first trailer for the bloody finale to Season 2.
Season 2 Part 2, which consists of four episodes, begins streaming on Prime Video on March 14 and will release each episode weekly.
Part 1 released back in November and ended on several cliffhangers, with Invincible, aka Mark Grayson, bumping into his father Omni-Man, who tried to kill him in the Season 1 finale, on an alien planet. The tense reunion got even more awkward when Omni-Man revealed he had fathered a child with one of the insectoid alien members. Together, Invincible and Omni-Man barely defeated three Viltrumite attackers, who took Omni-Man back to their base and ordered Invincible to prepare Earth for takeover.
The Season 2 Part 2 trailer teases even more bloody, limb-snapping, intergalactic action. Invincible returns to space and must handle an invasion from the mind-controlling, parasitic aliens seen in the first season.

Marvel's "What If..." has employed a mix of reprisals and recasts from the movies. Captain Peggy Carter may have the super soldier serum, and Strange Supreme went down a darker path, but they're still played by Hayley Atwell and Benedict Cumberbatch like the originals. Tragically, T'Challa-as-Star-Lord also went down as Chadwick Boseman's final performance.
On the other hand: Mick Wingert fills in for Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Lake Bell plays Black Widow instead of Scarlett Johansson, and season 1 big bad Infinity Ultron was voiced by Ross Marquand, not James Spader.
"What If..." season 2 brings in two characters not seen in season 1, Hela (the villain of "Thor: Ragnarok") and Wenwu (the villain of "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings"), and pairs them up in episode 7: "What If... Hela Found the Ten Rings?" The episode splits the difference on recasting: Wenwu is voiced by Feodor Chin,...

Plot: Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in Season One, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a host of new threats while battling his greatest fear – that he might become his father without even knowing it.
Review: The first season of Invincible was a pleasant surprise. Few animated series have been able to not only tell a mature story but do so outside of the familiar universes of Marvel or DC. Robert Kirkman’s series, based on his Image Comics series of the same name, introduced the world to a new hero in Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) and his twisted alien hero/villain father, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). After the eight-episode first season and a standalone holiday special focused on Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs), Invincible returns after over two years with a sophomore season with new characters and story arcs pulled right from the comics. Debbie Grayson (Sandra Oh) is tormented by a cabinet door that won’t shut. It suffered a shoddy repair job following the calamity that upended Debbie’s life one month ago, when her husband, Nolan (J.K. Simmons), the extraterrestrial superhero known as Omni-Man, revealed his mission to colonize Earth for his homeland of Viltrum. Nolan leveled the city of Chicago, killing thousands of people and nearly murdering their son, Mark (Steven Yeun), before flying off into the atmosphere. Debbie’s frequent trips to the kitchen for glasses of wine culminate in clashes with the door, which remains slightly ajar—a stubborn symbol of the anger and grief that she hasn’t figured out how to compartmentalize.

Los Angeles, July 22 (Ians) The popular American animated superhero series ‘Invincible’ has just released the teaser trailer for its upcoming Season 2. The teaser takes place in the aftermath of Invincible’s brutal confrontation with his father, Omni-Man in the finale of Season 1.
It’s mostly just a reel to hype up the massive star-studded voice cast, without much in the way of actual footage leaving things pretty obscure.
Based on the Robert Kirkman graphic novels of the same name, the series revolves around teenager Mark Grayson as he develops superpowers akin to his father, the world’s most powerful hero Omni-Man, only to eventually learn of a dark secret behind his father’s past while dealing with his own powers. After all, ‘With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility’, it may be an overused line in Spiderman, but is applicable for all supers and even in real life.

After all, ‘With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility’, it may be an overused line in Spiderman, but is applicable for all supers and even in real life.

Great animated shows take a while to make, as the first promo for "Invincible" season 2 is here to remind us. The acclaimed Prime Video series based on Robert Kirkman's comic books will be back later this year for its long-awaited sophomore season, but in the meantime, Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) and Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen) are taking a lunch break to catch up on what we've missed.
This return announcement is a really clever way to remind fans of the bloody superhero series about the characters they know and love while also acknowledging that it makes sense for an animated show to have a long off-season, given just how much work goes into making it happen. Honestly, since the pandemic first started slowing down production on all our favorite series, I think animated and live-action shows alike shouldn't have to defend their time away ... but if they're going to,...

Killer Collectibles highlights five of the most exciting new horror products released each and every week, from toys and apparel to artwork, records, and much more.
Here are the coolest horror collectibles unveiled this week!
Universal Monsters Bobbleheads from Neca
Neca will add four Universal Monsters to its Head Knockers line of bobbleheads in August. Priced at 34.99, Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Dracula, and The Wolf Man are made of hand-painted resin and stand 8″ tall.
The sculpts are pretty fun on these, although I’m not sure why the necks are comically long when Neca’s other bobbleheads don’t have that issue. The prototypes are pictured, so maybe they’ll iron that out before production.
B’Twixt Now and Sunrise: The Authentic Cut Blu-ray from Lionsgate
2011’s Twixt was an ambitious, if flawed, Gothic horror film from the great Francis Ford Coppola that failed to land with critics and audiences alike.
