London, Sept 26: In a tragic accident fueled by alcohol, one man shot his friend in the eye in an attempt to scare away his hiccups.
Police in Killeen, Texas have confirmed that Specialist Patrick Edward Meyers who is stationed at Fort Hood is being held on manslaughter charges after he pointed his gun at his hiccuping friend's head and the weapon unexpectedly discharged, the Daily Mail reported.
The victim, who was also a soldier, but whose name was not immediately released died just after 11pm on Sunday, as paramedics attempted to air-lift him to Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
Killeen police said that the Fort Hood soldiers were enjoying an evening of drinking and watching football when the incident happened.
