After a season that’s seen them have to claw back from the bottom, it’s easy to wonder when the Pied Piper crew will catch a break. The cosmic, bleak comedy of Richard Hendricks’ career is that he keeps stumbling into weekly, lightbulb-over-his-head discoveries that, on any other show, would have landed him at the top of the industry by now. But in the world of “Silicon Valley,” good ideas barely ever get these characters past the next scene.
Richard’s life as an app entrepreneur (apptrepreneur?) hasn’t always been the healthiest. But in the show’s increasing efforts to show the full weight of jockeying for position in the tech world, Richard got a less than clean bill of health. From Thomas F Wilson in Back To The Future to Nicolas Cage and John Travolta in Face/Off - when actors play multiple roles...
The dramatic use of actors playing multiple characters is a bold and rather theatrical device that has its ups and downs. It goes at least as far back as Captain Hook being played by the same actor who plays the Darling children's father in stage productions of Peter Pan, a technique largely adopted in film adaptations of the story, too (hello to Jason Isaacs).
It's used a lot in cinema too. Done well, it's impressive, but when it's bad, it's Jack & Jill. Whether used in comedy or drama or outright horror, there are countless examples of actors delivering terrific performances in more than one role at once, and that's before we even get past Cloud Atlas. Still, we've had a go at totting up 25 of the best.

It's been nearly 20 years since Katrina and the Waves won Eurovision for the UK, and the BBC is hoping to recapture past glory with a big change to the way acts are selected.
Eurovision hopefuls will be invited to take part in a national final with an X-Factor-style twist for the chance to represent the country in Stockholm.
Nul Points! 12 hilarious Eurovision disasters
Acts will be asked to submit an original track, before an industry panel whittles the entrants down for the final. Then, the British public will vote for who they want to represent the UK.
Each country's selection process for Eurovision is very different (Sweden's long-running Melodifestivalen, for example, is a ratings hit, and gets so competitive that it's essentially a cross between the Fa Cup and The Hunger Games without the brutal killing).
The BBC's Eurovision commentator Graham Norton thinks the new 'search for a song' element is a great idea.

It was '80s night on American Idol and even though there are some very talented singers left in the competition, the performance of the night didn't belong to one of the contestants.
Making a surprise appearance on the show Wednesday, David Hasselhoff took to the stage to sing a medley of '80s hits and it was everything a "Hoff" fan could hope for.
Starting with "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen, the former Baywatch star made his way through "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves, "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley, "Do You...

Let's get one thing out of the way from the off. Walking on Sunshine, a jukebox musical featuring all your favourite pop hits from the '80s, can in no way be recommended to anyone under the guise of being "a good movie". The story ticks off every rom-com cliché in the book, the characters have all the appeal of third-degree sunburn, the acting frequently hits pantomime levels and the production values on both the recorded tracks and song and dance numbers leave something to be desired.
Yes, Walking on Sunshine really does make Mamma Mia! look like Citizen Kane. And yet, despite all this, you can't take your eyes off it for a second. One thing you can't accuse this film of is lacking in car-crash entertainment value.

The film sees two sisters - played by Hannah Arterton and Annabel Scholey - at odds over the same man on the eve of the elder sibling's wedding.
In the preview above, the lead characters embark on a hen night in fancy dress, checking off '80s icons Lauper, Tina Turner and Madonna with their outfits.
The jukebox musical features covers of Whitney Houston, George Michael, Wham!, Huey Lewis and the News and Cher. Katrina and the Waves' 'Walking on Sunshine', which gives the film its title, also appears in the movie.
Walking on Sunshine is directed by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini, and will be released in UK cinemas on June 27.

A pair of new clips from the upcoming musical Walking on Sunshine has been unveiled, and they're corkers.
The incredibly cheesy (we're guessing that's the point) scenes sees Hannah Arterton perform a cover of Whitney Houston's 'How Will I Know' after spotting a hunk emerge from the sea.
Leona Lewis also appears in the clip, which marks her big screen debut.
The film - which features songs from the 1980s - sees two sisters (Arterton and Annabel Scholey) fall for the same man when they both take a holiday abroad.
And if that wasn't enough, we also get to hear the cast's rendition of Katrina and the Waves' 'Walking on Sunshine', which gives the film its title.

The studio version of Molly's UK Eurovision entry 'Children of the Universe' has been unveiled.
The song will be performed at the ceremony in Copenhagen in May, and released on April 28 on the resurrected East West label.
Molly - full name Molly Smitten-Downes - will also perform the track during a Eurovision preview show at London's Café de Paris on April 13.
"As it says, I believe that we're all important in some way, and that we all have a part to play in something bigger," the singer said of the track.
"We just have to follow our heart and our instinct and see what happens."
Smitten-Downes, who was selected for Eurovision via BBC Introducing, added: "I want to change preconceptions of Eurovision and make people who think it isn't cool to think, 'This is actually quite good'.
"And I want the people of the UK to be proud of me.

Bonnie Tyler, the 61-year-old Welsh singer best known for her 1980s hits "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out for a Hero," has been called into service for her country. The United Kingdom has submitted Tyler as its entry in the continent-wide Eurovision Song Contest.
Tyler says she is "honored and delighted" to represent her country. The song she will be singing for the contest is "Believe in Me," the video for which is above.
The annual contest is held every May. It features pop singing acts from all over Europe vying for the top prize. Each country that is a member of the European Broadcasting Union submits an artist, who performs a song on live TV. The viewers then cast votes for the other countries' songs to determine the winner.

“Sometimes when we’re at our most vulnerable is when we truly let people in to figure out who we are as artists,” declared Carson Daly at the top of The Voice Season 3 results telecast. Naturally, the super-efficient host’s use of “we” got me wondering if I’d somehow missed an important biographical detail from his past.
Was Carson ever in one of those post-nkotb boy bands that never quite ignited the public’s imagination? (That would imply the guy gets, or has gotten, jiggy!) Does he moonlight as an acoustic troubadour, playing coffee houses up and down the California coastline?...

The Voice's top six contestants had two chances to shine on Monday, when each singer performed a song of their choice and one picked by his or her mentor. And it was a mixed bag of music!

Melanie Martinez didn't stray far from her trademark soft vocals, but took a slight detour from her usually haunting songs with Cee Lo Green's "Crazy" and "The Show" by Lenka.
Christina Aguilera, whose contestants have all left the show, suggested she try more sultry songs. But Green approved: "In many ways we're cut from the same cloth, honey," he told her.

The Inspirational Song choices are available on iTunes, so we thought we'd offer some suggestions for the "American Idol" Top 7.
We will admit that the song list is rather weird -- some of the songs don't exactly strike us as "inspirational," plus you have to automatically discount certain songs. For example...
The Idols should probably steer clear of the other Idol songs. Like "A Moment Like This" is the No. 1 Kelly Clarkson "Idol" moment, so we're not sure they should try that one. Doing other Idol hits is just a little too meta. We'd call that a big no-no.
Then there are the over-played barf-worthy songs like "Greatest Love of All" and "That's What Friends Are For." We'd advise steering clear of those too, especially since "Greatest Love" should just be retired after Cordelia Chase did it for the "Buffy" talent show. Then there are a few duets on the list,...

First off, I owe Cory Monteith an apology: When the guys' Bon Jovi/Usher mash-up was released as a teaser clip and I criticized his dancing, I didn't realize that the exhausted and Drakkar Noir-scented Finn was hopped up on pseudoephedrine courtesy of Terri, who took a one-episode job as school nurse to keep an eye on Will after Sue tipped her off that he has a thing for Emma. The opening of "Vitamin D" finds Will trying to get glee club to step up their game. Unfortunately, glee thinks sectionals are going to be a breeze and so they aren't putting in any effort. Why does the club think the competition is going to be a cakewalk? They're competing against a school for the deaf and an all-girls halfway house. My spidey-senses say those clubs are going to be exceedingly excellent, despite what glee thinks.
