Paris -- Mipcom attendees may feel like they're not in Cannes anymore when Oz takes center stage at the market with a special "Spotlight on Australia," organizers Reed Midem said Wednesday.
Aussie film director and screenwriter Gregor Jordan will kickoff the spotlight with a keynote address on Oct. 5 focusing on the international launch of new interactive website "Smashcut," a trans-media project co-produced by Gregor and The Project Factory.
"It's like YouTube but with an interactive element that takes it to a whole new level," Jordan said of the unprecedented marketing and distribution platform.
Jordan's keynote will kick off a full day of Australia-focused matchmaking events and celebrations featuring top execs from Oz broadcasting and media sectors.
Firelight Productions' producer and director Marcus Gillezeau will chair a series of case studies on cross-platform content and alternative revenue streams.
