Most of these individuals were already working multiple jobs to get by,” Verdi said in a statement. “This widespread production shutdown didn’t hurt the top 1% in the industry but ruined many people who work week-to-week and paycheck-to-paycheck. International Film Festival Rotterdam (Iffr) to deal with the zeitgeist topic in “a playful and provocative way”.
This is a year in which gender discussions have moved right into the mainstream. Eddie Redmayne is Oscar nominated for his performance as a transgender artist in The Danish Girl. Catilyn Jenner, previously known as Bruce Jenner, has been a source of endless fascination to the gossip columnists in the Us while boxing promoter Kellie Maloney (formerly Frank Maloney) has provoked plenty of discussion in the British press.
In Iffr sidebar He/She/X, programmer Inge ds Leeuw aims to look at gender issues in a playful and provocative way.
The programme consists of features and shorts all addressing ideas of “gender fluidity.” There is also an accompanying exhibition featuring videos and instalations, including a “Gender Swap Machine”.

Rebecca Root has admitted that she would love to play the first female Doctor on Doctor Who.
The Boy Meets Girl star told Digital Spy that she mentioned her love of the show to a journalist and has now prompted a "mini-campaign".
"I did this talk with Kellie Maloney at the Radio Times Festival a couple of weeks ago and almost in passing, I mentioned something to the chair, a lovely journalist called Emma Barnett," she explained.
"I mentioned something about Steven Moffat being in the next tent along, because I vaguely know Steven. I was like, 'Oh my God, I've got to try and get hold of him - next time the Doctor comes up I'd love to do that'.
"And then Emma sort of outed me in the course of the conversation that we had and it was picked up and somebody tweeted it and then the Radio...

James Jordan was left unhappy when fellow Celebrity Big Brother housemate Gary Busey became the house guidance counsellor in a new task.
Gary held sessions with housemates in his "calming and spiritually balanced therapy room", where he helped different housemates deal with their issues.
Former Strictly Come Dancing professional James was joined by Kellie Maloney and Audley Harrison for a conflict-resolution session.
Kellie tells Gary that she sees "a bit of Frank in James... very arrogant, very aggressive." Audley adds that some things about the dancer "rub him up the wrong way", but adds that he is "bigger than that".
Gary asks the trio to let their issues go, adding that "conflicts are stupid and silly".
But James defends himself, adding that he can "justify" all his actions in the house, before going on to criticise Gary's own behaviour.

In the latest Celebrity Big Brother task, Big Brother has got the housemates new jobs.
They will be working in the complaints department in the Big Brother call centre to earn a party in the house.
Four housemates will be on duty per shift in the Big Brother Call Centre, taking on customer service agent roles.
The housemates will take turns to receive complaints from viewers.
To pass the task, the housemates will have to deal with the complaints in a satisfactory manner and at the end of the call they will complete a customer-satisfaction survey.
If the housemates deal with their complaints to Big Brother's satisfaction, they'll be rewarded with an office party.
Last night's double eviction saw Stephanie Pratt and Kellie Maloney become the fourth and fifth housemates to leave the house.
Celebrity Big Brother will be back tonight at 9.15pm on Channel 5.

Kellie Maloney has become the fifth person to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Her exit came as part of a double eviction, which saw Stephanie Pratt also voted off the Channel 5 series earlier tonight (September 5).
James Jordan, Gary Busey, Edele Lynch and Audley Harrison had also been on the block, but James and Gary were saved by the public from eviction earlier in the night.
"Get Kellie out" chants from the live crowd preceded host Emma Willis's eviction announcement, with the boxing promoter subsequently leaving to loud jeers.
During her exit interview, Maloney acknowledged that she had been profoundly changed by her experience in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
"I don't even remember going into the house - I went into the house drunk," she said. "I've come out very strong - and I've come out sober. It was like rehab."

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Gary Busey was the centre of yet more arguments yesterday (September 3).
The actor began the day well, telling Big Brother in the Diary Room that he felt "exceptional, wonderful, together, balanced, even" and that it is "wonderful to be where I am now, within myself of truth".
Gary even revealed that he wasn't concerned about being evicted, saying: "If I'm not evicted, it will just go on. And if I'm evicted, I won't really be evicted because my heart and soul will be in the Big Brother house. Big Brother will be in my heart forever and I'm just the messenger of hope, truth and love."
However, some of the housemates were talking less positively about Gary, as Kellie Maloney suggested that he was "playing" all of the housemates and noted: "Days before the eviction and when the cameras are on, he comes to life... he's a born actor.

Audley Harrison, Kellie Maloney, Edele Lynch, Stephanie Pratt, Gary Busey and James Jordan have been nominated for eviction from Celebrity Big Brother on Friday (September 5).
The six housemates will face the public vote, after the group took part in face-to-face nominations following last night's eviction.
Gary received the most nominations, picking up six in total, while Kellie followed with five. Edele had four, James and Audley had two, and Stephanie had one.
Edele did not seem to take the news well, noting incorrectly that she received the same number of nominations as Gary and joking: "I'm not cleaning any of your toilets anymore - you can clean up your own s**t, people!"
White Dee, who nominated Edele because she "needs to be with her kids", later apologised for throwing a vote her way.
Giving her a hug, Dee said: "It just came out wrong, and as a mum, I know myself.

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Kellie Maloney has completely lost her patience with James Jordan.
Kellie appeared to spend much of yesterday complaining about the former Strictly pro, beginning at the start of the day when she told Audley Harrison that James has no personality.
She added that he is an "arrogant arsehole", and when Audley acknowledged he has a chip on his shoulder, Kellie joked that it was more like a sack of King Edward potatoes.
Later, Kellie told White Dee that she couldn't be in the same room as James, adding that she wants the public to vote her out and saying: "The more I'm around James, the more I want to knock his lights out."
She also told Lauren Goodger that she wants James to know she doesn't like him, and she clashed with the dancer during a conversation about Lauren's relationship with Ricci.

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Lauren Goodger was accused of leading Ricci Guarnaccio on in the house yesterday (September 1).
The duo have had a confusing relationship so far this series, while Ricci expressed concerns earlier this week that Lauren is "playing games".
Lauren woke up yesterday feeling the effects of the night before - when she got drunk and exposed her breast in the pool - and Edele Lynch advised her that Ricci had been trying to look after her.
However, Lauren's drunken behaviour was the talk of the house as James Jordan revealed: "She tried to jump into bed with me last night in her G-string and I was f**king straight out of the door."
Gary Busey wanted to know if James had "had a chance with Lauren", but James told Lauren about her wardrobe malfunction as George Gilbey said: "Don't worry, Lauren, you've got lovely tits."

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Frenchy will take part in the Ice Bucket Challenge today.
Earlier, viewers were allowed to choose which celebrity - excluding Kellie Maloney - they would like to see take part in the viral trend and picked Frenchy on the Big Brother app.
Frenchy will be given two rubber armbands and will be allowed to sit in a paddling pool, but two of her housemates will then chuck a huge bucket of ice water over her.
However, Frenchy will be able to get her own back, as she will be allowed to choose one of her fellow housemates (again, excluding Kellie) to also take on the challenge. They will only need to face a normal-size bucket.
Big Brother has confirmed that the show will donate £1,000 to charity for taking part in the Ice Bucket Challenge.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight (September 2) at 10pm on Channel 5.

Celebrity Big Brother housemate James Jordan was called out by fellow contestants for being "shady" yesterday (August 31).
The professional dancer, who has been the centre of controversy on several occasions, began by stirring up a conversation between George Gilbey and Gary Busey.
Gary had advised George not to be nervous and that speaking over people was a bad habit, while George replied that Gary has his own bad habits.
When Gary replied that he is "fixing them" and has "done a lot", George explained that he was only joking.
However, James - who had previously scolded Gary for spilling coffee on the stairs - then joined the conversation and said: "No, he wasn't Gary, he was well out of order... That's nasty, that is."
The conversation then escalated as George heard Gary whispering about him, and shouted: "I think you're being rude and I think you should shush!"

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Ricci Guarnaccio seemed to be souring on his love interest Lauren Goodger yesterday (August 31) as he accused her of playing games.
The couple's potential romance was the talk of the house in the morning, as White Dee asked Kellie Maloney if she had seen the pair flirting.
"No, not in the way the other two [Stephanie Pratt and George Gilbey] do," she replied. "There's a little bit of chemistry there but Lauren is that sort of girl, I think. Ricci does like her..."
Dee agreed that Lauren has "no interest in him whatsoever" but the pair suggested she hadn't led him on, with Kellie saying: "If they wanted to, they could rival the other two for a romance. The other two is so phoney. I'd hate to see George get hurt. I quite like George."

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Stephanie Pratt has received a warning for treatment of fellow housemate Gary Busey.
The pair have clashed numerous times during their stay in the house, with Stephanie taking issue with Gary's hygiene.
Speaking to the Made In Chelsea star in the Diary Room, Big Brother told Stephanie that she was being warned for the words she has used when talking to and about the actor.
Big Brother added that it was "inevitable" that not all housemates would get along, but added that they would step in if a situation was "escalating" in which any housemate would be "excluded" in behaviour that could be "perceived as bullying".
Stephanie accepted the warning, admitting that she had "definitely called him many names" prior to Gary improving his hygiene.

Kellie Maloney has clashed with fellow Celebrity Big Brother housemates Stephanie Pratt and James Jordan.
The latest house drama occurred during a task as Leslie Jordan became a ventriloquist who had to speak for Stephanie.
When housemates were allowed to ask questions, Kellie brought up a row between Stephanie and Audley Harrison, asking why she had called him a "passive-aggressive p***k". Stephanie was left frustrated as Leslie failed to answer as her.
James, who was controlling Angélique "Frenchy" Morgan, then jumped in to defend Stephanie by asking Kellie why she goes to the Diary Room to attempt to win a sympathy vote after nominations, and also by asking why she has threatened to walk on numerous occasions.
Stephanie later contfronted Kellie about the incident. After accusing her of "sh*t-stirring", the Made In Chelsea star remarked: "Frank is back."
Discussing the incident with George Gilbey, Kellie remarked: "I've made another enemy.

Audley Harrison has attempted to explain why he nominated fellow Celebrity Big Brother housemate Kellie Maloney.
Big Brother sprang surprise face-to-face nominations on the housemates last night following David McIntosh's eviction.
The former boxing champion nominated Kellie, explaining that he thought she should be evicted as the world is not ready for her, and admitting that he sometimes feels uncomfortable around her due to having previously known her prior to her gender transition. Upset with his admission, Kellie refused to hear what Audley had to say.
Audley was later given a warning about his nomination reasons, prompting him to claim that he needed time to accept Kellie for who she is.
"I think anyone would be crazy to suggest that you just switch and make the adjustment, it's going to take time," he said.
This morning (August 28), Audley addressed the situation, apologising for upsetting Kellie with his nomination reasons.

After Kellie began to cry about Leslie nominating her for the Scrapheap, he replied: "You're not here for entertainment; you're here to be Kellie, that's not entertainment."
Kellie then told Leslie: "I could have squashed you so easy but I don't want to do that." Leslie replied: "I love you so much,...

Celebrity Big Brother's Leslie Jordan has chosen to send fellow housemate David McIntosh to the Scrapheap.
Kellie Maloney, Angelique 'Frenchy' Morgan and Gary Busey were previously banished to the garden residence by 'Star of the Show' Leslie.
Edele Lynch, Claire King and David were forced to compete against one another in a talent competition judged by Leslie earlier today (August 23).
Edele sang the B*Witched hit 'C'est La Vie', Claire acted out Romeo and Juliet and David flexed his muscles, before Leslie made his decision.
"From the heart, Edele had at her disposal many, many years of doing this routine. David has at his disposal this… body," Leslie joked.
He continued: "Claire was at somewhat of a disadvantage… As an actor, I know what it's like to do a cold read in which there are no costumes, there are no lights [and] there's no anything! You're just up there naked.

The Celebrity Big Brother housemates were feeling nauseous as Gary Busey and Stephanie Pratt took part in their disgusting toothpaste shopping task yesterday.
Gary and Stephanie competed to be cast in CBB's 'Taste Away Toothpaste' advert, with the best audition to be selected by Celebrity Agents Leslie Jordan and Kellie Maloney.
The toothpaste promised to not only keep your teeth clean, but to make unpleasant foods taste pleasant.
Sadly for Gary and Stephanie, the toothpaste was actually wasabi paste, and the pair were then subjected to eating jellied eels and extra hot curry washed down with a white wine vinegar and fishy milkshake (Stephanie almost got her donkey balls).
Despite the fact that Stephanie was sick during the task, her audition was picked by Leslie and Kellie and will be made available to view on social media sites. If they accrue enough hits collectively, the housemates will pass their task and secure their shopping list.

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Kellie Maloney opened up about her gender transition yesterday (August 19).
The former boxing promoter spent the morning bonding with White Dee, who explained that her life has changed in both good and bad ways since Benefits Street.
Kellie then admitted that she couldn't believe the reaction she got from the crowd on her entrance to the house.
She explained that she has spent most of her life wanting to do something about her gender identity, but when Dee asked if she has won, she suggested that she has both won and lost.
"Frank wasn't a bad person," she explained.
Kellie added that she has tried to make her children understand that she will always be their dad - just "their dad in a frock".
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight (August 20) at 9pm on Channel 5.

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Kellie Maloney has revealed that she nearly pulled out of the show at the last minute.
The former boxing promoter entered the compound last night but told fellow housemate White Dee in a private chat that she was anxious about making her gender transition public.
"I wanted to transition very privately," she said. "I'm a very private person.
"Tonight, an hour before I came in here, I was, 'I can't do this'. I cracked, I was crying."
Dee offered Kellie her support, saying that they are just "normal people".
"This is the thing that's going to put you on the map as Kellie," she added. "This is your new start."
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight (August 19) at 10pm on Channel 5.

Celebrity Big Brother kicked off last night and was typically bonkers. Well, we wouldn't have it any other way, really, would we? The 14 famous faces that made their way into the house may have varying levels of, er, fame, but they also seem likely to keep us very entertained indeed over the next four weeks. Bring it on!
It's probably too early to really have any firm opinions about the newbies, but you can't help but have a first impression on night one, can you? So here is our ranking of the housemates from worst to best so far, which we reserve the right to change in, like, an hour...
14. Ricci Guarnaccio
Hard to be both offensive and boring in one fell swoop. Ricci seems to manage it.
13. Lauren Goodger
Oh goodie, another Towie girl. Loses points for the outfit, but at least she seems nice enough. So far.
12. James Jordan
For one thing,...
