With the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming in a few days, Mondo has done Sony a huge favour and actually released an awesome new poster for the film. The marketing team behind Spider-Man: Homecoming have had a rough time with the film’s posters ahead of the film’s release. Fans have been actively complaining about the designs […]

Originally slated to be released last fall, Warner Bros. didn’t like what they saw from the feature film directorial debut of Dean Devlin, the longtime producing partner of Roland Emmerich. In fact, the film underwent heavy reshoots, with $15 million being spent to seriously overhaul the movie, with some characters reportedly being scrapped. But the leading man stays the same, with Gerard Butler once again jumping into action.

“Bernie Saves The Day”
By Raymond Benson
Film noir was still a valid Hollywood commodity in 1951, and director Nicholas Ray was one the style’s star practitioners. He had begun his career with the classic They Live by Night, and just the previous year he had brought us In a Lonely Place (see Cinema Retro’s review here). On Dangerous Ground, which stars Ida Lupino (who reportedly directed some scenes when Ray was ill) and Robert Ryan, is a fair representation of the movement—it’s not bad, but it’s not particularly great, either.
Oddly, it comes across as two different movies. The first forty minutes or so are deep in film noir territory—it has an urban setting, a cynical and violent protagonist (Ryan, as a police detective in the city), night scenes, hard-boiled dialogue, harshly contrasting black and white photography (by George E. Diskant), and sultry dames.

For a while it seemed as if Two Tongues was nothing more than a one-off. Formed by Say Anything’s Max Bemis and Saves The Day’s Chris Conley, Two Tongues was established as a means of collaborating in-between obligations to their other bands. In 2009 they released an album and, aside from playing some of the songs live here and there, that seemed to be the extent of the project’s life. But on October 14, Equal Vision Records will release Two Tongues Two, which will be followed by the band’s first proper tour.
The A.V. Club is premiering “Scorpio” below, which shows just how much has changed within the project since its self-titled debut. While Two Tongues skewed poppy, Two Tongues Two goes scuzzy. “Scorpio” is built on blown-out power chords, a garage-punk stomp, and a murkier outlook than what Bemis or Conley are regularly known ...

When America needs a hero, Tom Hanks gets the call. While he might not be a superhero, when cinema needs a grounded everyman to keep a cool head, save the day, and perhaps teach us a little lesson about Main Street values, you generally can’t go wrong with Hanks. And having him play Captain Chelsey […]

For as long as they stay in the running, the Amazing Race team of Erin Robinson and Joslyn Davis — hosts of the digital entertainment news franchise Clevver — are sharing with TVLine behind-the-scenes secrets from each week’s escapade.
Leg 2: Adiós,Mexico City! Hello, Cartagena, Colombia
Baywatch Moment | Who knew being on The Amazing Race would make my Baywatch dreams a reality?! Ok, to be fair, I never knew I had Baywatch dreams, but that’s an unnecessary detail. When teams arrived at the Roadblock at Totumo, the mud volcano in Cartagena, our instructions told us we had...

Once again, Dreamworks is undone by trailers that managed not to convey the actual experience of the film they're selling. They have this weird habit of making their films look worse than they actually are, almost like they're trying to tank them. By now, I shouldn't be surprised when they make something that's good, but they keep cutting these trailers that promise crap. "Home," based on the book "The True Meaning Of Smekday" by Adam Rex, serves as an interesting example of someone doing the right version of something that someone else has bungled. In this case, "Home" is an example of someone setting out to create a character like Jar Jar Binks… and pulling it off. Because no matter what you think of "The Phantom Menace," there's a specific character type that they're doing, The Fool, the bumbler who somehow becomes a hero by virtue of being decent but stupid.

We're still not over the fact that "The Blacklist" pulled a clip show on us last week, but they more than made up for it with this week's exciting (and surprisingly romantic!) episode. In case you blocked it out due to Ptsd, Elizabeth Keen is the prime suspect in the murder of Eugene The Friendly Boatsman (that's the name on his birth certificate, right?), and there's only one person left who can prove her innocence: Tom Keen. Unfortunately, he's currently in Germany chilling out with a bunch of Neo-Nazis -- but will he fly back to the Red White and Blue to save his wife? Keep reading....
Red and Ressler Head To Germany, Hook Themselves Up With Ammunition (Literally!)
We're worried about Tom Keen. Between the "SS" tattoo on his neck and the fact that he's taken to beating up randoms in broad daylight, this undercover henchman is becoming creepier by the second.

When fashion-fearless Mindy wears nothing but track suits and tries to get out of having her picture taken — as the mama-to-be does for most of this week’s Mindy Project — you know a Lahiri level-five freakout is in the works. Thank goodness for an outspoken aspiring personal stylist, a shiny leopard-print bodysuit and a fat-shaming hoarder, eh?
Don’t worry. We’ll explain as we review what happens in “What to Expect When You’re Expanding.”
Photos Cancellation Anxiety: 9 Shows You Should Probably Start Worrying About
Closet Case | Thanks to Little Man Castellano’s increasing size, none of Mindy’s clothes fit.

After weeks of wondering what The Fulcrum is (our leading theory = "the name of Red's favorite fedora"), it was finally revealed to be a tiny box full of circa-80s wires. Oh, and it's been chilling out in Elizabeth's stuffed bunny rabbit for the past twenty odd years. This week, we find out even more about Elizabeth's secret -- but more on that later -- there are blacklisters to be taken down. This episode's public enemy number one is even more sinister than usual, so let the drama and intrigue begin.
Aram Checks Out The Fulcrum, Lizzy Heads To Uzbekistan Much like the rest of the world, Elizabeth has no idea what The Fulcrum is, so she asks Aram to analyze it. His consensus? It's a "beta recording device." Wow, how completely unhelpful, Aram. Obviously, Lizzy doesn't tell Red about her discovery (she's still mad at him), but these two...

What Sleepy Hollow needs this week is a kickass, Abbie-and-Ichabod-against-impending-evil power hour.
What it gets is the Cranes’ date night from hell, with splashes of the Mills sisters being fantastic and Irving being inexplicably alive.
The latter — plus Ichabod, of course — would’ve been plenty for those of us who don’t hate Katrina, but also don’t need her harshing the Witnesses’ vibe solving crimes. I don’t begrudge Red the chance to do some fun stuff, but let’s leave the heavy lifting to the God-chosen frontline of the anti-apocalypse army, shall we?
Instead, Katrina and Ichabod go...

If you’d thought that maybe The Newsroom wouldn’t actually show us Will and Mac’s decades-in-the-making wedding, well, you were wrong.
But if it’s any comfort, you’re in very good company: Will, too, is spectacularly incorrect in this week’s episode. “Too big to jail,” Mr. McAvoy? The United States government begs to differ.
Elsewhere, the Jim and Maggie Show slowly cranks back into gear. Still pretty indifferent on that one, but it’s for different reasons than I had last season. (We’ll get into it in a minute.)
Let’s take a look at what happens in “Contempt.
