In celebration of today’s release of the new Paramore album, After Laughter, we’re paying homage to the beloved music videos that perfectly captured our 2000s angst and went down as legends.
Prepare to bask in the dejection:
Paramore: “Misery Business”
We could never look as good as Hayley Williams with fiery red hair, but we sure could try.
My Chemical Romance: “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)”
We lived for the band’s misfit antics in their movie trailer-inspired masterpiece. But what did Gerard Way just want to do?! The suspense haunts us to this day.

It’s no secret that Paramore has been in the studio hard at work on their fifth full-length album, but now, we’re getting a look at just how far along in the process they are. Spoiler alert: they’re almost done.
In an Instagram post on the band’s account, Paramore showed off their “song board” for their upcoming record – a chart in the studio that helps keep track of the progress of each song. Unlike most song boards you see in ‘behind-the-scenes’ pictures, this one doesn’t share any working track titles – instead, it’s a close-up view of some empty boxes coupled with the caption, “Vox are 2 X’s away from #pmorealbum5.” Basically, frontwoman Hayley Williams just needs to lay down vocal tracks for two more songs until all the vocals are done, which could also mean that it wraps up completion of the album, too.

The mutual-appreciation society between Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar reached its next level Monday, with Swift's announcement that like Lena Dunham, Gigi Hadid, Hailee Steinfeld, Hayley Williams, Ellie Goulding, Lily Aldridge, and Zendaya, Kendrick will also be appearing in Swift's upcoming "Bad Blood" music video. He'll be playing a character called "Welvin Da Great," a name apparently chosen by Kendrick himself. The Joseph Kahn–directed video will premiere at next weekend's Billboard Music Awards — with a star-studded cast and neo-noir atmosphere, it looks like it'll be Swift's own Sin City, if Sin City just hated Katy Perry instead of all women in general.

Let the countdown to Taylor Swift's new music video begin! The pop songstress announced on Thursday that she will be debuting the video for her song "Bad Blood" at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards -- and teased the news in a poster on Instagram. In the shot, we are introduced to the 25-year-old's character "Catastrophe," as the star rocks a sexy look with bold makeup, a leather jacket and an intense stare. The phrase "Band-aids don't fix bullet holes" is splashed across the photo, a nod to the lyrics from the single. The "Blank Space" singer allegedly wrote the song about her feud with fellow artist Katy Perry, who she claimed tried to "sabotage" her tour by hiring her dancers. Things could get pretty awkward when the video premieres during the award show -- the "Roar" singer is nominated for several awards, so there's a high chance she'll be in attendance.

Anna Kendrick and John Krasinski's "feud" on Lip Sync Battle have been going strong all week, but Thursday's installment is probably the one to top, considering it featured Krasinski doing a scarily on-point version of *NSync's "Bye Bye Bye."
In case you don't remember (and obviously you remember), *NSync's video for "Bye Bye Bye" was marionette-themed, because the album it came from was called No Strings Attached, and this was considered high-concept in the year 2000. Consequently, the choreography in the video was designed to make the boy band seem like puppets, cut loose from their strings, you see. Again,...

Many artists on the South by Southwest circuit credit a good night's sleep and eating their veggies with making it through the week-long performance marathon. Elle King, however, takes a more rock 'n roll approach.
"Alcohol and red bull" are King's secrets to SXSW success, the "Ex's & Oh's" singer claims.

"I drink and I have a lot of fun," she says. "I feel like, thank God I play rock and roll 'cause I think rasp might work with it. We gotta put shows on for people, so we just try our best and drink as much as we possibly can."
The crooner released her debut album Love Stuff earlier this year to critical acclaim and while fans may already be itching for a follow-up, King is taking her time and savoring the moment.

Women rarely make it into the main rock categories at the Grammys, but this year, the two solo female and women-led groups that managed to squeeze in to two categories took home the honors. St. Vincent's self-titled album scored the Best Alternative Album win, and Hayley Williams-led Paramore earned Best Rock Song for "Ain't It Fun." "St. Vincent" was up against Alt-j, Arcade Fire, Cage the Elephant and Jack White; and Paramore was up against songs from Ryan Adams, The Black Keys, Beck and White. Sinéad O'Connor' "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" won Best Alternative Album the year the category was launched, in 1991, and since then, no other solo female or female-led artists have won. Acts like the B-52s, Arcade Fire, Belly, Pj Harvey, Fiona Apple, Bjork, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Neko Case are shuffled into this category, but as history shows,...
