Dan has produced, mixed or co-written many pop records for an array of successful artists including Ingrid Michaelson, Jenny Owen Youngs, Ian Axel, Cara Salimando, April Smith, Jukebox The Ghost & A Great Big World.
Dan's original music from the acclaimed short film Glory at Sea (2008) was also used in a series of official Obama presidential-campaign videos.
As part of a 'Celebrate Brooklyn' event in Dan's New York City neighborhood, Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) was screened in the Prospect Park band shell with a local orchestra playing the movie's soundtrack. Romer and "Beasts" co-composer and film director Benh Zeitlin were also on hand to join in.
Dan produced A Great Big World's debut album "Is There Anybody Out There?", including the debut single "Say Something" which was a worldwide hit and sold over 4 million copies.
