The trailer unveils a nuanced narrative centred around two young boys growing up in a traditional Indian village, deeply rooted in rural values emphasizing divine intervention and religious faith. However, as the story progresses, their beliefs collide with universal truths.
Beyond questioning faith and unwavering divine belief, Bhagwan Bharose explores the complex issue of communal tension that has always been relevant across the globe. Shiladitya Bora fearlessly but empathetically tackles the sensitive subject through the minds of two innocent kids.
Notably, the performances of child actors Satendra Soni and Sparsh Suman shine, as they impeccably depict the innocence with which young minds accept or reject the dictates of adults, leading to confusion in the face of conflicting adult messaging. Veteran actor Vinay Pathak also makes a captivating appearance.

“I love the script,” purrs Neha (Mallika Sherawat), the actress who will play Gulabo in director Rk’s film, “it’s very… you.” And indeed, this film production – “Mera Naseeb” (My Fate), a period film set in the fifties — *is* very Rk, because Rk (Rajat Kapoor) has written it, directs it, and stars in it as the film’s hero, Mahboob. The production does not go as smoothly as its producer, Goel Sahab (Manu Rishi Chadha), would like. Neha has a reputation for being difficult on set, which she lives up to, unable to memorize her lines and cursing out the prompter after making the crew wait three hours while she prepares.
Despite the hiccups, the film is finished ahead of schedule (Rk notes they finished the 40-day schedule in 36 days), but the producer has concerns about the film’s ability to appeal to an audience. Mahboob’s Urdu dialogues,...

Dasvi
Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrat Kaur, Yami Gautam Dhar
Directed by Tushar Joshi
Except for the fact that Yami Gautam looks nothing like a jail superintendent, Dasvi is quite a delightful experience. It is filled with little pockets of surprising warmth and dollops of takeaway tenderness.
Abhishek Bachchan, in a career-defining performance, plays Gangaram Choudhary, the Chief Minister of an imaginary North Indian state that looks suspiciously like Haryana. Abhishek’s behaviour onscreen suggests he plays a younger more effervescent and reformative version of Om Prakash Chautala. His accent is spot-on and his body-language suggests an arrogant ownership of the space that he claims as though by birthright.
But let’s not get too political here. Dasvi intends to have fun with the politics of gender dynamics. It also puts across a deeply-felt message on the importance of education. On both the counts, it passes the examination with distinction. While...

Hum Do Hamare Do(Disney-Hotstar)
Starring Ratna Pathak Shah, Paresh Rawail, Rajkummar Rao, Kriti Sanon
Not even the wonderful Ratna Pathak Shah and Paresh Rawal could rescue this dreary rom-com from sinking so low into the abyss that it’s hard to find one single moment of joy from the mirthless mess.
On the premise level it sounds promising. Rajkummar Rao is Dhruv ,an orphan craving for a, awww, family. Ever-bubbly Kriti Sanon , the new-age Preity Zinta, craves for a Bunty with a large heart and a larger family. So what does Dhruv do? He hires two long-in-love estranged people Purushottam(Rawal) and Deepti(Pathak) to play his parents.
There is an unintentional tribute to Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Golmaal here. In that film Amol Palekar(who was to middle-of-the-road cinema in the 1970s what Rajkummar Rao is now to the romcom industry) had hired Ratna Pathak Shah’s mother...

New Delhi, Jan 12 (Ians) Playing a teacher in his upcoming web series has been one of the most difficult jobs in his career as an actor, says Ronit Roy.
Titled "Candy", Ronit's upcoming show comes with stories of drugs, politics, ambition and murder, and is being touted as "sweet and sinister". Directed by Ashish R. Shukla, it is set in a boarding school in a hilltown.
"The character is a schoolteacher. Not to be misled by that, the characters are very layered, very complex, dealing with a lot of internal issues, and external issues. So it is by far one of the most difficult characters I've played in my career," Ronit told Ians.
"Two years back the writers had pitched the show to me, and at that time I found it extremely exciting. They had worked on it, and there was not much to think about before saying yes," he added.

Laxmii; Cast: Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, Sharad Kelkar, Rajesh Sharma, Ayesha Raza Mishra, Manu Rishi Chadha; Direction: Raghava Lawrence; Rating: * * (two stars)
By Vinayak Chakravorty
Every now and then, it seems, Akshay Kumar cannot resist giving in to the urge to churn out boring humour. The last time he did it was in Diwali last year, with Housefull 4. He is back this Diwali with a film that would make Housefull 4 seem like a classic.
The problem with Laxmii is not that it is mindless. The problem is the film is just not funny enough, despite playing to the gallery. Director Raghava Lawrence, who makes his Bollywood debut with this film, collaborates with Farhad Samji in a bid to recreate his 2011 Tamil hit Muni 2: Kanchana. What may have seemed funny nine years ago clearly fails to make the cut today.
Uh, yes -- there's the social message part.

Starring Abhay Deol, Patralekha, Manu Rishi Chadha
Directed by Faraz Haidar
One moment can change your life. So says the film regarding our nasty habit of attending to the cellphone while driving. Oh well, read the bold italicized writing on the wall.
The lessons of life flow like toothpaste from a uncapped tube, luckily without hampering the flow of some refined farce in this innocuous, cute if at times grating confection blending humour with the supernatural element.
For those who have been missing him, Abhay Deol gets to be in nearly every frame of the film. It’s called making up for lost time. And that (time wasted time gone) is one of the underlying themes of this fair little concoction of farce and fear. It could have been much better if only it didn’t set out to wag fingers at the imbalances in life.

Film: "What The Fish"; Cast: Dimple Kapadia, Vishal Sharma, Sumit Suri, Mithun Rodwittiya, Deepti Pujari, Manjot Singh and Manu Rishi; Director: Gurmmeet Singh; Rating: *** 1/2
So okay. Comedies are hard to sustain for more than an hour...and yes, this one does over-run its playing time by 20 minutes, although it's just about a 100 minutes in length. And that's a 100 conveying sustained satirical strength. The quality of the humour and the context of the characters' comic tangles is, on the ha-ha-ho-ho whole, adroitly maintained, sustained and executed.
So here goes. A cantankerous old woman in Delhi, Sudha Mishra (Dimple Kapadia, delightfully over-the-top) leaves her home and its two specific properties namely the pet fish.

Kirchiyaan is the first release of Royal Stag Mega Movies Large Short Films. It is a 13 min short film with all the trappings of a feature film. It has 2 songs. Violence. Drama. Emotions. Revenge. Sex. Corrupt cops. Bribing politicians. Warring friends. Old flames. Drugs. Everything Bollywood pot boilers are made of. It is a hallmark Sudhir Mishra Mishra. With Chitrangada Singh, Sushant Singh, Vipin Sharma and Manu Rishi. Faces that jump out from his many full length feature films. Sudhir says, “It hasn’t been easy to make this film. On the contrary it was more difficult to make this short film than most full-length feature films. Because there is no luxury of time, locations, budgets, etc. The story has to be gripping enough. Every second. It took more than 8 ideas and 9 drafts to arrive at the final screenplay. It’s been quite a journey.”
Manu Rishi has written the dialogues.

Chitrangda Singh has been Mia (Missing in Action) post the release of Desi Boyz even though she did an item number in the forgettable flick Joker. Now Chitrangda is gearing up for the release of her next biggie Inkaar directed by Sudhir Mishra where she is paired opposite Arjun Rampal.
However, what is interesting is that apart from Inkaar, Chitrangda is also working with Sudhir in a short film titled Kirchiyaan. The 10 minute film has Chitrangda paired opposite Sushant Singh while Manu Rishi and Vipin Sharma form part of the supporting cast. The short film has an element of suspense and was shot in Mumbai over a span of two nights.
