Gavin Harrison(IV)

Gavin Harrison joined Industrial Light & Magic in 2020 with over 15 years experience in the visual effects Industry. Prior to joining, Harrison filled a number of supervisory and management roles at DNEG, including CG Supervisor, Head of 3D and Head of Creature. He was also one of the core team members responsible for establishing and growing the DNEG Vancouver studio.
Harrison worked as a Technical Director on The Reaping, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, 10,000 BC and Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. This was followed by roles including Lead Lighting Technical Director on Quantum of Solace, developing DNEG's first Houdini crowd system for Angels & Demons, Creature Supervisor on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow: Part 2 and working as a Sequence Supervisor on Iron Man 2 and Total Recall. Harrison also has experience supervising on ride and VR attractions including The Hogwarts Express and Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts rides at Universal Studios in Florida. As a CG Supervisor on the DNEGTV team, Gavin worked on shows including Catch 22 and AWAY.
He has received an Emmy Awards nomination for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role for Catch 22 and a Visual Effects Society Awards nomination for Outstanding Animated Character in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow: Part 2.
Harrison graduated with a distinction in the Master of Science in Computer Animation course at Bournemouth University and holds a Bachelor of Engineering Honours degree in Aerospace Materials from Queen Mary College, University of London.
