The X-Men have slowly been taking over the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whether through the upcoming film Deadpool and Wolverine or X-Men ’97. As such, there are many wondering about who would take up the live-action roles as well. One character that fans are eagerly eyeing is that of Scott Summers, aka, Cyclops.
Cyclops in X-Men ’97
There have been many actors whom fans have wanted to see take up the role. Ever since the Ryan Reynolds film was announced, the possibility of the X-Men expanding has been growing manifolds. So the opportunity of casting the perfect actor for the role of the cheery and energetic Scott Summers is not one fans want to miss out on. While Glen Powell felt like the top contender in their point of view, there is another actor who could take the spot.

Featuring Sylvester Stallone in what sounds like a rare villain role, action thriller Alarum has just finished shooting. Scott Eastwood and Willa Fitzgerald also star.
The Shakespearian-sounding Alarum, an action thriller starring Sylvester Stallone, has just finished filming – and like Brad Anderson’s World-Breaker, is another mid-budget genre film looking for distribution at Cannes this week.
Directed by Michael Polish (Terror On The Prairie), Alarum appears to have cast Stallone in a rare villain role. To the best of our recollection, the only other time Sly’s played an antagonist was in Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over in 2003.
Alarum’s leads are Scott Eastwood and Willa Fitzgerald, who play a pair of professional assassins who are off on a romantic break when they find themselves pursued by murderous CIA agents – the scariest of them played by Stallone.

Kate Beckinsale, Scott Eastwood and James Cromwell will star in kidnapping drama “Stolen Girl” directed by Britain’s James Kent.
“Stolen Girl,” which is in pre-production in Southern Italy’s Apulia region, is inspired by the real story of an American woman named Maureen Dabbagh who spent years tracking down her daughter who had been abducted and taken to the Middle East by the child’s father.
In the film, which starts out in 1993 in Ohio, Maureen’s 6-year-old daughter Amina is snuck out of the country by her ex-husband, Karim. After years of unsuccessful attempts to find her, Maureen intersects with a professional retriever of internationally abducted kids who promises to help her find Amina in exchange for her collaboration. Maureen eventually succeeds in tracking down her ex-husband and Amina in Beirut, where she will face “the most difficult decision of her life,” according to a provided synopsis.

Many would consider Clint Eastwood to be a committed performer when it comes to actors who will do whatever it takes to fulfill a role. Throughout his storied career, the actor-director, 93, has brought a surprising amount of energy to his numerous roles, going above and beyond with character development, stunts, and various musical performances.
And thus, it is painful to see such legends get older. Yet there is something truly special about seeing their rare appearances in public. But fans could not believe their eyes when the 30th Mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, who will turn 94 on May 31, made a rare public appearance last month.

The season of the very first sign of the zodiac is here, and that’s exactly why being a leader comes so easy for Aries folks.
And that’s no joke, Aries really don’t know what else to be but a boss, CEO or innovator, because they’d rather play by their own rules. They march to the beat of their own drum and rarely ever need anyone to play backup instrumentals. Their charm, playful personality and great sense of humor make up for their impulsiveness and sometimes hot-temper, and there’s absolutely no other sign who will keep it all the way real with you like an Aries does, even if it’s something you don’t want to hear. They tell it like it is, as dishonesty goes against their entire m.o.

For weeks after the Oscar nominations were announced, “Barbie” star Ryan Gosling publicly maintained he wasn’t sure if he’d perform “I’m Just Ken” during the 96th Academy Awards.
However, “Barbie” co-star and producer Margot Robbie says he never hesitated to agree to the performance. In fact, she says she didn’t have to pressure him “at all.”
“He jumped at this,” Robbie told me at the Chanel and Charles Finch party Saturday night at the Beverly Hills Hotel. “He’s going to crush it. I’m so excited. I think he’s going to be the highlight of the whole night. I think a lot of people are going to be tuning in for this specific performance.”
In his Variety cover story in early February, Gosling insisted that the Academy hadn’t yet asked him to perform. “It might be too much of a risk to have me do it,...

Everyone loves fun car films. With Fast X spawning a spin-off and sequel and Gran Tusimo (out on VOD Tuesday) doing decent business at the box office, the genre isn’t going anywhere. We thought now would be a good time to check out some less-known (or underrated) entries into the genre.
Taxi
We’re going to cheat right off the start by counting this whole series and one entry on this list. The films here are action-comedy classics for fans of French movies and those who love a good car stunt. The first established the characters, but the second is possibly the best of the bunch. Only die-hard fans will want to bother from the third to the fourth to the fifth. However, those first two are worth seeking out what the French do with a modified Peugeot 406, the vacation town of Nice, and a cast that most will recognize from other movies.

Brad Pitt has usually been in tip top shape for his roles. But he showed just how fit he was in Fury when he hung with a much younger co-star during a physical fight.

Pitt worked alongside several younger actors when he starred in David Ayer’s Fury. His castmates at the time included the likes of Shia Labeouf, Scott Eastwood, and Logan Lerman. Given the nature of the war film, tensions occasionally ran high between the actors on set. Labeouf and Eastwood famously almost came to blows, with Pitt having to break up the impending fight between the two.

The seven-year-long soap opera about David Ayer and his ‘Suicide Squad’ movie just got a new episode. As we all remember, Ayer wrote and directed the first ‘Suicide Squad’ movie, which was released in 2016 as a part of the original plan for DC Extended Universe. Although the movie achieved great commercial success, it received negative reviews for its screenplay, direction, villains, and action sequences, although Margot Robbie received praise for her portrayal of Harley Quinn.

It’s a well-documented fact that writer/director David Ayer wasn’t happy with the cut of his DC Comics film adaptation Suicide Squad that Warner Bros. released back in 2016, and he and many DC fans are hoping the “Ayer Cut” will someday be sent out into the world. Now, during a conversation with Jon Bernthal on the podcast Real Ones, Ayer has admitted that the experience of working on Suicide Squad “broke” him.
Ayer told Bernthal (as reported by Variety), “Hollywood, I tell people, is like watching someone you love get f*cked by someone you hate. The big one is Suicide Squad. That shit broke me. Universal Pictures announced this morning that Fast X, the tenth main installment in its long-running action saga Fast & Furious, will head to Peacock September 15th following a theatrical run that kicked off in May.
Coming to the platform the same day are three other installments: Fast and Furious 6, Fate of the Furious, and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. And then, there’s Furious 7, which will be available for streaming there starting October 1st.
Fast X again reunites us with globe-trotting street racer Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew, who, ever since their saga started on the streets of L.A.’s underground racing scene, have overcome impossible odds to outsmart, out-nerve and outdrive every foe. Yet when the team took down a nefarious kingpin back in Brazil, they had no idea his son Dante (Jason Momoa) was watching from the shadows. More lethal than any other enemy they’ve faced,...

Margot Robbie once had a chance encounter with veteran star Clint Eastwood at the Academy Awards. But because of his reaction, Robbie wondered if she’d made a bad impression on the veteran.

Robbie has already been a frequent visitor at the Oscars. She’d even been nominated a few times for films like I, Tonya and Bombshell. But even with those nominations under her belt, perhaps one of her most memorable moments came in the 2015 Oscars. There she described what might have been an awkward encounter with Clint Eastwood.
“I went backstage because I had to present [on stage] and afterwards I did an interview… they gave me this bottle of champagne,” Robbie once said according to Daily Mail. “I was back in my seat and we were in an ad break, so I opened it.

Good news about Jamie Foxx’s health keeps coming in, as sources are saying the Academy Award-winning actor “was in good spirits and having a good time” over the weekend while taking some recreational swings at Topgolf.
Adding to the observation about Jamie Foxx’s health, the source told People, “He looks healthy…He didn’t need any physical assistance.” This – coupled with his recent venture out on a boat – is definitely good news for his recovery. His outings come three months after he was taken to the hospital following an undisclosed “medical complication” while shooting Netflix’s Back in Action. The movie was finished with body doubles.
Jamie Foxx also apparently has a strong support system keeping him company and safe following his spring health scare. “There were other guests on the floor, it wasn’t fully private. They came in through a side entrance on the third floor right to their section…...

The news never stops, but for Jake Tapper, it does occasionally share time with other creative pursuits.
Today, what’s lured him away from the CNN studio (temporarily) is the promotion of his new book. He’s seated on the patio of The Pendry, a West Hollywood social club meets hotel, drinking the first of several iced coffees, dressed casually — comparatively speaking, for a person whose day job requires suits pressed within an inch of their life — in a breezy button-down shirt and Air Jordans. He arrived early for the breakfast interview, due in part to the habits of a longtime live news anchor, but also because he’s on East Coast time, rising hours before most of Los Angeles.
Tapper is releasing a third novel in his budding literary empire, which began with 2018’s The Hellfire Club, a political thriller that followed young Congressman Charlie Marder, and his wife,...

Vin Diesel loves when the “Fast & Furious” family comes together.
Diesel spoke with Et’s Matt Cohen on Saturday at the block party for Charlize Theron’s Africa Outreach project in Los Angeles, where he reacted to the shocking “Fast X” credits scene, which features Dwayne Johnson’s return to the franchise as Agent Luke Hobbs.
Following a social media spat between Diesel and Johnson, Johnson vowed in 2021 that there was “no chance” of him returning to star in a “Fast & Furious” movie — with plans instead to spin off his and Jason Statham’s characters in a series of “Hobbs & Shaw” films.
However, the “Fast X” post-credits scene features Jason Momoa’s villain calling Hobbs to tell him he’s coming for him next — all but confirming Johnson’s return for the 11th “Fast” film.
“We have such a great cast,” Diesel shared when asked about the surprise return.

By now we should all know what to expect when we go to see a Fast and Furious film. They give us over-the-top, oftentimes ridiculous, action set pieces, and in between those set pieces will be Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) talking about family. Many people seem to have turned away from that ridiculousness, from the crazy, gravity and logic-defying moments each film gets, and instead call the films pointless. For myself, I accepted what these films are a long time ago, and if like me, you have accepted what they are too, then there is fun to be had.

The 10th instalment of the “Fast and Furious” franchise was off to the races this weekend, knocking “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” out of first place and easily claiming the No. 1 spot at the box office. “Fast X” earned $67.5 million in ticket sales from 4,046 North American theatres, according to estimates from Universal Pictures on Sunday.
It’s on the lower end of openings for the series which peaked with “Furious 7’s” $142.2 million launch, the sole movie in the series to surpass $100 million out of the gates. “Fast X’s” domestic debut only ranks above the first three. The last movie, “F9”, opened to $70 million in 2021.
But this is also a series that has usually made the bulk of its money internationally, often over 70%. True to form, overseas it’s on turbo drive. “Fast X” opened in 84 markets internationally, playing in over 24,000 theatres, where it earned an estimated $251.4 million.

“Fast X,” the latest installment in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, is speeding to a projected $67.25 million debut at the domestic box office this weekend.
The street racing movie earned $28 million on Friday from 4,046 theaters, and is expected to gross another $22.43 million on Saturday and $16.82 million on Sunday. This will be enough to knock Disney and Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” out of the top spot, as the superhero tale is expected to pull in $32.89 million in its third weekend of release, bringing its North American total to over $267 million.
On Thursday, “Fast X” raked in $7.5 million in previews, setting it on track to earn more than $60 million in its first weekend of release. That puts the 10th chapter in the “Fast” saga at No. 7 in terms of highest box office debuts, between 2021’s “F9: The Fast Saga” ($70 million) and 2019’s “Hobbs and Shaw” ($60 million). Fast X is headed for a North American debut of $67.3 million and a rousing $320 million globally. That’s a promising start for the 10th installment in a Hollywood franchise, although the series is seeing lower openings overall in the U.S.
Overseas is a different matter. Fast X is on track to clear $252.7 million in its international debut. Its global opening makes it the No. 2 debut of the year behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the No. 3 global opening of the franchise behind The Fate of the Furious and Furious 7.
The action pic will easily wrest the box office crown from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is now in its third weekend. Guardians 3 is projected to earn another $32 million-$33 million domestically.

Spoiler Alert: Spoilers are ahead for “Fast X,” which is now playing in theaters.
“You believe in ghosts?” Agent Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes) asks at the end of 2011’s “Fast Five.” She’s just presented agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) with a surveillance photo of Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), who was believed dead after a horrific crash in the fourth film, 2009’s “Fast & Furious.”
With one mid-credits coda, the “Fast” franchise established that if you don’t see a body, no one is really dead.
(In fact, Rodriguez recently revealed that she didn’t know about the third-act twist until she saw “Fast Five” in theaters. “I’m in Paris. I’m like, ‘Oh, hell no,'” she said in Feb. at the “Fast X” trailer launch event, explaining that she called producer and star Vin Diesel right away. “I find out by going to the movies, Vin?” she asked him.

Fasten your seatbelts because Universal’s “Fast X” is racing into theaters this weekend, and it’s picked up $7.5 million in Thursday previews at the domestic box office.
The 10th “Fast and Furious” is predicted to open to more than $60 million. That would make it the franchise’s seventh-highest debut, between 2021’s “F9: The Fast Saga” ($70 million) and 2019’s “Hobbs and Shaw” spinoff ($60 million). In terms of Thursday previews, those movies made $7.1 million and $5.8 million, respectively.
“F9” released during the pandemic, when around 80% of theaters were still shuttered, giving “Fast X” a shaky outlook in the U.S. However, international sales have played a major part in the “Fast and Furious” global box office hauls. “Fast X” is targeting $220 million overseas in its first weekend. After costing $340 million to produce and $100 million to promote, “Fast X” will need to keep its foot on the gas after it opens to net a large profit.

So, I stated in a review from a couple of weeks ago that the Summer movie season has officially begun with the early May foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And just when does the movie madness kick in, where’s the big action blockbusters? Well, it goes full-throttle right now as we shift (see what I’m doing here) from the MCU to the F&fu (maybe I should leave off that last letter). We can officially call this one of our most enduring film franchises as it’s now well over 21 (so don’t imbibe before sliding into the driver’s seat). This weekend, and for a few weeks thereafter, action enthusiasts will buckle up at the multiplex for Fast X. And man, you can pop your corn on those searing engines.

Over the course of 22 years, the "Fast & Furious" films have resembled a great many different things: a sports movie, a crime drama, a martial arts action film, a globe-spanning spy saga, a high-tech sci-fi yarn, and even a role-playing game campaign. Yet the franchise's main theme has remained stalwart — the movies are all about the power and resilience of family, a 10-film franchise that seeks to prove the ancient adage, "blood is thicker than water."
Yet, as the series' continual instances of betrayal, side-switching, and tragic death followed by improbable resurrection make the saga seem borderline Biblical or Shakespearean, its exploration of the concept of family has not been entirely one-note. The Fast Saga has openly acknowledged that misunderstandings and deep-seated resentment can occur between family members, just as it's explored how rivalries can form between separate family units: witness the family of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) crossing paths...

The “Old Guard” sequel starring Charlize Theron doesn’t even have an official release date, but a third installment may already be brewing. “There’s an ending to No. 2 that kind of demands a No. 3, which makes me very happy,” producer Marc Evans told me at the premiere of “The Mother,” Netflix’s new Jennifer Lopez action movie.
In “The Old Guard 2,” Theron reprises her role as the leader of a group of immortal mercenaries, and Marwan Kenzari and Luca Marinelli return as gay couple Joe and Nicky. “You’re going to see more story of Joe and Nicky,” Evans assured.
After pandemic delays, filming began on the sequel, with Victoria Mahoney directing, about a year ago. Asked if Theron was contracted for a third movie, Evans would only say, “Charlize is a producer on the movie and deeply supportive of the franchise.”

After pandemic delays, filming began on the sequel, with Victoria Mahoney directing, about a year ago. Asked if Theron was contracted for a third movie, Evans would only say, “Charlize is a producer on the movie and deeply supportive of the franchise.”

You may recall that the last entry in the Fast and Furious saga, 2021’s F9, featured a sequence in which two of the Avengers our heroes—the comic foils Tyrese Gibson and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges—drove a car into outer space. There is not anything quite as wacky as that in the 10th and latest installment, Fast X, but there are still plenty of reality-defying stunts that keep this franchise from returning to Earth in any fashion that’s recognizably rooted in reality.
Still, back in F9, one got the sense that the film was at least leaning into its sheer ridiculousness, which made it more palatable and entertaining. With one notable exception, however, Dominic Toretto’s much-discussed Family is now taking itself far too seriously. As a result, the 141-minute movie is a fairly lumbering and tedious sit.

J Balvin shows he’s got what it takes to join the Fast and Furious crew in the new music video for “Toretto,” his contribution to the Fast X soundtrack.
The track is, of course, named for Vin Diesel’s franchise hero, Dominic Toretto, who makes a cameo in the music video. Balvin performs the thumping track in the clip while whipping race cars around an empty port. At the end, Diesel bestows upon Balvin the greatest honor in cinema history: Admission into the “Familia.”

It's the beginning of the end for Dom Toretto and the Fast Family, as "Fast X" is making its way to theaters. Will it be the beginning of the originally planned two-part finale? Or are we getting a full trilogy to help wrap up the "Fast" saga? Either way, this movie is going to help bring things in for a landing after more than 20 years. There will still be more "Fast" in our future, however, and if there's more to come for a franchise, you know what that means: credits scenes! Usually, anyhow, largely thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
So, for those headed to see the latest "Fast and Furious" movie in theaters, we're here to help set some expectations with a spoiler-free guide to the movie's credits scenes. Again, this is spoiler-free. This is just so moviegoers know whether or not they need to hold off on that...

Perhaps the biggest mistake the “Fast and Furious” franchise ever made was in “F9: The Fast Saga,” when the characters suddenly became self-aware and realized that after all the physics-defying vehicular mayhem they’ve been through, they always miraculously emerge unscathed.
How could they have defied the odds for so long? Are they truly immortal or are they merely blessed with impenetrable plot armor? And if any of those things are true why should the audience care one whit about what happens to them? Especially when even the characters who do die usually come back after a sequel or two.
“F9” made a convincing case for letting this whole “Fast and Furious” series finally end. But just when you thought it was okay to check out, “Fast X” pulls you back in. Louis Leterrier’s installment does an impressive job of making all the old nonsense make a little bit of sense again.

Not too many film franchises stick around for more than two decades, but the insanely wild motorized antics of Fast X roar ahead without a thought of applying the brakes.
With its seemingly inexhaustible supply of madly amusing action, this high-octane extravaganza attempts, and not infrequently succeeds, in obliterating any resistance with its disarming, outrageous and self-aware injections of often-hilarious camp. It’s a sometimes jaw-dropping ride that circles the globe in its never-ending search for fresh locations and ways to up the cinematic ante; in the process, it’s able to break down and prevail over its fundamental ludicrousness. It cost a bloody a fortune (reportedly over $300 million) but will make an even bigger one.
The basics remain the same, but the scale of it all is certainly unparalleled for what began 22 years ago as a modest hot rod-racing drama. In the new film, many wonders of the ancient...
