Jimmy Buffett will perform at the 2012 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The 'Cheeseburger in Paradise' singer is replacing Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, who has pulled out of the festival after suffering temporary nerve damage in his right arm. Buffet's acoustic set with country music star Mac McAnally on May 3 will mark a return appearance to the Jazz Festival, which he first headlined in 1989. And, yet, over forty years after releasing his debut album, Empty Sky, John remains as rapt a tabloid figure as ever. Brian Wilson has signed with Walt Disney Records.In the months ahead, Wilson will record two new solo albums for the label's Disney Pearl imprint, including one featuring covers of classic songs by American songwriters, George and Ira Gershwin. For that recording, the Gershwin estate has given Wilson access to rare, unfinished pieces of music by George Gershwin, with which he will craft collaborative compositions.He will follow that with an album of classic Disney songs. A national landmark is getting a new moniker today, as Chicago's Sears Tower will now be known as Willis Tower. Though it's unlikely that this generation of Chicagoans will actually refer to the building as such, it's still a jarring shift.
