Every month there always seems to be a new horror anthology released and Tales From the Other Side is one of the latest. A very low budget one but that is something I’m used to and anthology horror is something I generally enjoy so I was happy to give this a go.
Featuring one wraparound segment and six ‘tales’ there’s plenty to see here. So let’s get straight into the first proper tale. ‘Petrified Boy’ at least starts off with some kind of creepy story about a touring circus and its main attraction – the petrified boy. The problem is the...

(Cbr) Hoping to repeat the success it’s had adapting Stephen King’s "Under the Dome," CBS has given a put-pilot order to a series based on the author’s 2003 short story “The Things They Left Behind.” Deadline reports the supernatural procedural will be produced by Seth Grahame-Smith and Greg Berlanti, and written by Grahame-Smith. The short story follows a man named Scott Staley who followed an inner voice and didn’t report to work at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. His survivor’s guilt is compounded when items belonging to his deceased co-workers begin appearing in his apartment. He soon discovers that his life’s mission is to give these items to the families of those who passed away. In addition to the series, the story has been adapted twice. The first was a short film by Pablo Macho Maysonet IV, the second a longer feature directed by Guillaume Heulard and Stéphane Valette.

Back in 2011 a short film adaptation of Stephen King's short story "The Things They Left Behind" was making the film fest rounds, and now it looks like the tale is heading to the small screen... CBS to be exact!
Per Deadline, CBS bested the competition for "The Things They Left Behind," a supernatural procedural drama based on King’s story from Seth Grahame-Smith and Greg Berlanti. The project, produced by Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti’s studio-based Berlanti Productions, has received a put pilot from the network.
CBS, which has had success with its adaptation of King's "Under the Dome," is no doubt looking for lightning to strike twice.
"The Things They Left Behind," set in the aftermath of 9/11, was originally published in 2003 as part of the compilation Transgressions: Volume Two. It was adapted into the aforementioned extended short film by Pablo Macho Maysonet IV.

Although I don't have the exact numbers right in front of me, I would be willing to lay a considerable wager that Stephen King has had more horror stories adapted to film than any other author. That seems like a safe bet. And now, through King's "Dollar Baby" program, director Pablo Macho Maysonet IV has added the September 11th thriller The Things They Left Behind to the list of King tales to make the big screen.
Through "Dollar Baby," selected filmmakers are granted the right to create a film from a Stephen King story for $1, allowing up-and-comers an opportunity to work with the legendary author's material.
The Things They Left Behind tells the chilling tale of a September 11th survivor who is being haunted by those from his past lost to the disaster. It is a powerful reminder of the day, especially as we reflect on the date during the 10th anniversary.
