Natti Natasha keeps bringing up the word “nasty.” It’s a word that sometimes has a negative connotation, but for Natti, “nasty” means being real. It means being unapologetic. And it means never letting go of what you want.
“I used to say that Nasty Natt was my alter ego. But why Nasty?” she tells Rolling Stone from her home in Miami. “Because she is raw, you know?”
Over the last year and a half, Natti has had no other choice but to be nasty. Last May, Raphy Pina, her...

Times Square in New York will be closed to the public Thursday night for New Year’s Eve celebrations, the first time there won’t be a crowd at the iconic locale on December 31 since the first ball drop in 1907 (the first celebration at One Times Square in Manhattan was in 1904). But in a year in which the entertainment industry has had to adjust to a virtual stage, the show will go on and the ball will still drop at midnight.
Official Times Square New Year’s Eve co-organizers Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment will present a six-hour commercial-free webcast (closed to the public and following New York state health protocols), with Jonathan Bennett returning as host. It will include performances from Andra Day, Gloria Gaynor, the Uso Show Troupe and The Waffle Crew. Other New York-based performers on the night among the various broadcast and cable networks, which...

The list of nominees for the 2020 Grammys is out — and Latin artists remain stranded on their own remote island.
Things seemed to look up in 2019 when “I Like It,” the Latin trap crossover hit by Cardi B, J Balvin and Bad Bunny, received the nomination for Record of the Year. But in spite of its skyrocketing revenue and growing ubiquity in anglophone pop culture — with support from bicultural Latina superstars like Cardi, Camila Cabello and Selena Gomez — Latin music will be excluded from the most prestigious Grammys categories, which include Record of the Year,...

Gloria Trevi has been through what most people might just describe as … a lot. Since she kicked off her pop career in 1985, she’s released 12 studio albums — the most recent being Diosa de la Noche, released Friday. As one of Mexico’s most memorable, albeit shocking pop exports, the “Pelo Suelto” singer has sold out stadiums and topped dozens of pop charts worldwide — and to this day, she’s commonly heralded as the “Mexican Madonna.”
But she’s also experienced some of the lowest of lows: most of all during her disturbing,...
