“What started out as an attention-grabbing book cover quickly evolved into an extraordinary flight of a lifetime,” Cuoco said in a statement. “I always envisioned Tfa as a limited series and thanks to an incredible creative team, we were able to deliver two thrilling seasons. The Flight Attendant will not be returning for a third season. The show, which was originally set as a limited series, aired two seasons on Max, with the second season ending in May 2022.
The move follows comments from star and executive producer Kaley Cuoco after the second season that the “plane had landed.” “I just kind of feel like we just ended,” she told People at the time.
The first season, which premiered in November 2020, followed Cuoco’s alcoholic, globe-trotting flight attendant Cassie Bowden who became embroiled in an espionage plot following her affair with a first class passenger, who winds up murdered after their night together.
The second season saw Bowden return with a fresh start in Los Angeles, sober and moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. But when an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue.

Kaley Cuoco seems satisfied with two seasons of The Flight Attendant.
“It’s going to take a lot of thought to make sure if we go back that it’s better than the last two, which is very hard to do,” she told People.com, noting there are no current plans for a third season of the HBO Max dramedy. “There’s definitely interest in doing a third season. I think for me, at this moment, the plane has landed.”
Cuoco said the best thing about the Season 2 finale, which aired Thursday, is that the series “could definitely be done or it’s definitely open to continuing.”
“I think the writers and the team did a really beautiful job in tying it up in a pretty bow,” she said. “But if you had to open the bow, it would be okay.”

At a time when we were all locked down during the pandemic, it was fun to revel in a jet-setting, high-stakes and hijinks world, and HBO Max’s freshman series The Flight Attendant delivered that and showed a Kaley Cuoco we’ve never seen before, able to play various shades in spades.
While Flight Attendant played like a James Bond girl in reverse spy comedy series, it also at its core dealt with the anguish and the morning after of alcoholism.
“In Case of Emergency” penned by creator Steve Yockey, is where Flight Attendant takes off. An adaptation of Chris Bohjalian’s novel, the series begins with Imperial Atlantic flight attendant Cassie Bowen, played by Cuoco, who sneaks a drink when she’s up in the air but parties hard when she’s on the ground. “Nomadland” look home the top film prize at the 2021 Producers Guild Awards Wednesday, bringing it closer to a Best Picture win. The winner of the PGA Awards’ top prize has historically been a strong indicator of which film will will go on to win the Best Picture Oscar. Since 1989, the PGA winner has matched up with the top Oscar 21 out of 31 times. It happened in 2018 with “Green Book,” but not last year: “1917” won at the 2020 PGAs, but the Academy Award for Best Picture went to “Parasite.”

The Writers Guild of America Awards were handed during a virtual ceremony on Sunday, March 21. But don’t base your Oscar predictions on these kudos. Every year a slew of Oscar-nominated scripts are deemed ineligible for consideration here due to guild guidelines. Indeed, over the past 12 years only 80 of the Writers Guild of America Awards nominees have numbered among the 120 screenplays that reaped Academy Awards bids. Scroll down for the 2021 Writers Guild of America Awards winners list.
Our odds predict that “Nomadland” will win Best Adapted Screenplay winner at the Oscars but it was not allowed to compete at the WGA Awards. Neither was another Oscar contender in that category: “The Father.” The guild did match the academy three-for-five in this category, with “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” “One Night in Miami” and “The White Tiger” competing at both. “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and “News of the World” round out the guild nominees.

The 2018 Writers Guild of America Awards take place on Feb. 11 with simultaneous ceremonies held in both New York and Los Angeles. Only scripts written under the guild’s guidelines or those of several international partners are allowed to vie for these awards. As such, these kudos are not the most reliable barometer of the Oscars.
In the past nine years only 59 of the WGA nominees have numbered among the 90 screenplays that reaped Academy Awards bids. Indeed, 2014’s Oscar winner for Best Original Screenplay, “Birdman,” was deemed ineligible. Likewise for one of this year’s leading contenders for that award: “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”
On the television side, the leading nominees are “Better Call Saul,” which competes for best drama series writing as well as for two individual episodes and “The Americans,” which is up for both overall drama series writing and an individual episode. Over in comedy, reigning Emmy...

Glee, Season 5, Episode 11, “City of Angels“
Written by Jessica Meyer
Directed by Elodie Keene
Airs Tuesdays at 8pm Et on Fox
Glee‘s “City of Angels” is a sweet, sad end to the New Directions. What could be an underdog’s story of triumph is stripped away, leaving sadness and a sense of lost potential. Their loss at nationals is a pretty severe blow to fans and characters alike.
The continuity of the Finn story arc is refreshing. Many fans were concerned there would be little mention of the clumsy quarterback after the tribute episode, but the writers have proven the doubters wrong, providing a bread crumb trail as we are allowed to watch all these characters, especially Carole, navigate a life cut too short and the joy of having known him at all. Even though I have no idea how Carole and Burt qualify as chaperones (maybe they are Sam’s guardians?...
