Netflix unveiled the trailer for Luther: The Fallen Sun on Thursday, and it looks like a solid sequel.
The movie drops in select theaters on February 24, before getting a release on Netflix on March 10.
It's a similar tactic employed by Glass Onion: A Knives Out Story, which worked out very well.

If “Crazy Rich Asians” proved movies with Asian American leads could rock the box office, “Always Be My Maybe” is about to do the same thing for Netflix movies. The new romantic comedy stars Ali Wong and Randall Park as two estranged childhood friends who reunite in adulthood, rekindling an old flame that never quite got to burn bright. With these two beloved comedy stars at the helm, “Fresh Off the Boat” creator Nahnatchka Khan in the director’s chair, a hilarious Keanu Reeves cameo, and a title riffing on the greatest Mariah Carey song of all time — “Always Be My Maybe” will soon be part of you indefinitely.
The newly released trailer presents Sasha (Wong) as “the Asian Oprah,” a Los Angeles mogul in a loveless engagement to a fellow entrepreneur (Daniel Dae Kim). Returning to her hometown of San Francisco to open a new restaurant, she is surprised...

Netflix might have their own “Crazy Rich Asians” on their hands. In the romantic comedy “Always Be My Maybe,” Ali Wong and Randall Park play an adorable couple who are childhood friends and former lovers.
Fifteen years removed from their fling and falling out, Sasha (Wong) is now a successful celebrity chef and Marcus (Park) is still living at home and working for his dad. And in the first trailer for the film, it all looks and sounds very cute, but doesn’t skimp on the foul-mouthed wordplay and double entendres that Wong has come to be known for in her stand-up comedy.
“It might be even smaller and grosser than I remember,” Wong says as she looks at the backseat of Park’s old Corolla where they once hooked up. “You better still be talking about my backseat,” Park responds.

Keanu Reeves and Daniel Dae Kim will be flexing their comedy muscles in Netflix’s Always Be My Maybe, starring Ali Wong and Randall Park. Production is currently underway in Vancouver with Nahnatchka Khan directing from a script by Wong, Park, and Michael Golamco.
Rounding out the cast are Michelle Buteau, Vivian Bang, Karan Soni (Deadpool 2), Charlyne Yi (Paper Heart), James Saito, Lyrics Born, and Susan Park (Vice Principals).

The premiere of “Overboard” Monday night in Westwood Village served as one of the few moments for Latinos to gather and celebrate a rare breed of film: one featuring a Latino male lead.
As the box-office continues to be dominated by films featuring diverse casts and storytellers, Eugenio Derbez occupies a lonely perch in Hollywood as one of the few Latino actors who has starred in a wide-release film. A 2017 USC study found that Latinos represented just 3% of speaking roles in the top 100 films of 2016.
Fans of the Mexican actor lined the red carpet at The Regency Village Theater and were overjoyed when he stopped to take pictures with them.

The red carpet featured stars like Eva Longoria, who also has a role in the film. Jaime Camil (“Jane the Virgin”) and Latin pop singer Prince Royce attended, as did a number of Latino celebrities like Alicia Machado.

One of the most indelible images from the Death Note anime series (and the manga it’s based on) is the haunting appearance of the Shinigami Ryuk, a death god visible to Light Turner, the high school student in possession of a notebook with the power to kill. With filming now underway on Adam Wingard’s live-action Death Note movie, the voice of Ryuk has been revealed.
Mashable reports that Willem Dafoe will voice Ryuk in the live-action Death Note film. An official image of Ryuk’s appearance in the new movie has yet to be revealed (the image above is from the 2006–2007 anime adaptation), but it’s likely that we’ll see a CG creation of the curious death god with an appetite for apples.

The notebook with grave consequences is back, as filming is officially underway on Adam Wingard's Death Note movie.
Based on Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's popular manga (which was previously adapted as an anime series and several live-action movies), the new Death Note film stars Nat Wolff as the main character who discovers that if he writes someone's name in his newfound notebook while imagining what they look like, they will die. This otherworldly power allows Wolff's character to play God, and it's up to the mysterious "L" (Keith Stanfield) to put a stop to the bodies hitting the floor.
Death Note is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in 2017. Below, we have the official press release with full details, including Wingard's (The Woods, You're Next) thoughts on the project:
