Congressman George Santos is a known karaoke lover, but we’re pretty sure he’d like these hits to stop coming. The Long Island representative, who established himself as Congress’ resident Liar In Chief, is now dealing with prospective staffers secretly taping him. An audio recording released Wednesday by Talking Points Memo revealed an utterly bizarre conversation Santos had with Derek Myers, a potential hire for his new congressional office.
The recording was created by Myers, a self described “media mogul turned Hill staffer,” who was working as a volunteer...

Just hours after Stormy Daniels detailed the threats she received after being urged to “drop the story” about her affair with Donald Trump, a woman who previously worked as a campaign advisor to Stormy’s 2010 campaign for senate in Louisiana detailed that there were additional “mysteries” surrounding the adult film star’s journey into politics. “Here’s a story: On July 23, 2009, my friend’s car was blown up. On the Same Night my house almost burned down when the gas line mysteriously exploded,” Andrea Dubé tweeted. “We were both ‘campaign advisors’ on Stormy Daniels’ possible senate race against David Vitter.” Additionally, a news report from 2009 revealed that surveillance video caught someone “tampering” with political advisor Brian Welsh’s car shortly before the explosion took place. On last night’s episode of 60 Minutes, Stormy detailed a threat she received after she gave In Touch a 5000-word account of her affair with the now-president.

Republican ratchetness is a serious ailment that affects dozens of politicians each year. It’s currently hitting Gov. Mike Pence (Indiana) hard, given his state’s controversial religious freedom law that basically means business owners can turn away Lgbt customers because the Bible tells them so. It’s also taking a toll on embattled Rep. Aaron Schock (Illinois) who resigned from his House seat over an ethics scandal. Texas Senator Ted Cruz recently announced his presidential bid, which means his ratchetness is just beginning — he did call climate change activists “flat-Earthers” after all. However, this stuff is just child’s play compared to what other right-winged suits have done in the past. (We’re looking at you, Mark Sanford.)
From sex scandals to homophobic comments, these politicians represent the essence of Republican ratchetry: ignorance, stupidity, and just a bad moral compass. Isn’t it ironic these conservatives are engaging in some very un-conservative behavior?...
