A new Ed Sheeran portrait has been the subject of internet banter over the last 24 hours or so. The National Portrait Gallery recently unveiled a fancy portrait of him, painted by Belfast-based artist Colin Davidson. According to a statement from the gallery, the 4-foot-square oil painting is the result of an encounter between the artist and Ed Sheeran’s dad, John, who’s an art historian and curator. “He has shown the private me, which few people ever see.
