Keshet International (Ki) has racked up several deals for scripted formats and finished tape in the Central and Eastern Europe region.
Ki has sold the format rights for Duo Productions’ 8 x 60’ relationship thriller “Too Much Love” (“L’homme qui aimait trop”) to Slovakian free-to-air broadcaster TV Joj. Originally created by Canadian writing duo Michel d’Astous and Anne Boyer (“Taboo”) for Bell Media’s Quebecois streamer Noovo, the Slovakian adaptation will be produced by Piknik Pictures (“Traffic Light”). Currently in pre-production, with casting in progress, shooting will commence later this year ahead of a 2024 premiere on TV Joj.
Kelly Wright, Ki’s MD of distribution, described the show as “something of a conversation starter because of the anti-hero’s controversial lifestyle choices,” with Marcel Grega, CEO of TV Joj adding that the show “is the perfect example of a modern drama that opens subjects that are considered taboo.”

It was one of the most uncomfortable moments in recent television history. Comedian Seann Walsh and professional dancer Katya Jones are sitting opposite Zoe Ball, the host of Strictly Come Dancing’s sister show It Takes Two. Jones seems on the verge of tears; Walsh seems irritable, defensive. Neither of them wants to be there. “I’m sorry for the hurt that I caused,” says Walsh, grimacing. “I regret it deeply.” Then, later in the same interview: “I’m not the person I’m being portrayed as.”
This is 10 October 2018, four days after photos of Walsh and Jones kissing on a night out were splashed across The Sun’s front page. Walsh – who’d performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and made frequent appearances on panel shows such as Mock the Week – was one of the celebrity contestants on the hit TV dance contest. Seann Walsh has opened up about the cheating scandal that torpedoed his comedy career during Thursday’s (10 November) episode of I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
In 2018, the comic was filmed kissing his Strictly Come Dancing coach Katya Jones while the pair were in pre-existing relationships.
Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver asked Walsh about the tabloid backlash to the scandal, asking the comedian: “Why did that crucify you? Why did that have such an impact?”
In response, Walsh said: “To be totally honest with you, my poor ex, my girlfriend at the time, posted a statement. My girlfriend [at the time] posted a statement and that was the end of me.”
Walsh was in a long-term relationship with actor Rebecca Humphries at the time and Jones was married to fellow Strictly pro Neil Jones. They split up in 2019 and, just last month, Humphries appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table...

Seann Walsh is reported to be one of this year’s competitors on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
The comedian is thought to be joining the show as a “bombshell” late addition alongside former health secretary Matt Hancock.
Before his headline-making appearance on Strictly Come Dancing (more on that further down), the comedian and actor started out his stand-up career in Brighton. Walsh performed his 2012 show Seann to Be Wild at the Edinburgh Fringe and toured the country with it. His 2013 Fringe show The Lie-In King also received positive reviews.
Walsh had a role in Jack Dee’s ITV sitcom Bad Move, and made numerous TV appearances on shows such as Live at the Apollo and 8 Out of 10 Cats.
Walsh joined the lineup for Strictly in 2018, and was paired up with professional dancer Katya Jones.

Every year, Strictly Come Dancing brings its yearly spook-fest back to the dance floor.
By now, we’ve seen hundreds of dancers take part in the themed competition week, hoping to impress the judges with routines that are less trick, more treat.
For fans, Halloween is one of the biggest nights in the Strictly calendar. Design-wise, it doesn’t get more extra than this, with the perfect performance featuring a spooky costume and song choice that are well linked together. However, it’s not always easy and we often see a slightly spooky song title pushed together with a random costume that doesn’t exactly make sense or scream Halloween. After all, there are only so many times the show can do the “Monster Mash”.
The best Halloween dances bring all these elements together, from design, to music, to (naturally) the actual dancing. Among this top 10 we have a lot of tangos,...

A number of celebrities were in attendance at Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral on Monday (19 September).
The late monarch’s funeral began at 11am, after King Charles III led a procession from nearby Westminster Hall, where her body had been lying in state since Wednesday afternoon (14 September).
Some 2,000 mourners, including world leaders such as US president Joe Biden, took their seats earlier in the 1,269-year-old Westminster Abbey ahead of the funeral.
The Order of Service included a sermon by Archbishop Justin Welby, in which he quoted Vera Lynn’s famous Second World War song “We’ll Meet Again”, and several musical moments.
A number of the late monarch’s favourite hymns, including “The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not Want”, were performed by the choirs of Westminster Abbey and the Chapel Royal.
A few recognisable faces were spotted in attendance at the ceremony.

“Escape From Kabul Airport,” a documentary airing on BBC Two in September, will tell the inside story of the 18 days in August 2021, when the U.S. withdrew its troops from Afghanistan, and the subsequent evacuation of thousands of Afghan citizens from Kabul airport after the Taliban seized the city.
The documentary is an Amos production for the BBC, in association with HBO and in collaboration with Arte France. It is produced by Emmy and BAFTA-winning Dan Reed (“Leaving Neverland”) and directed by Jamie Roberts (“Four Hours At The Capitol”).
The film combines never before seen on-the-ground archival footage from the evacuation, alongside interviews with evacuees, eye-witnesses, U.S. Marines and Taliban fighters.
Roberts said: “When the images of the chaotic Kabul airlift flashed across the news I immediately wanted to know more about what this historic moment looked and felt like on the ground, through the eyes of the people who were there.

Phoebe Dynevor has swapped the corsets of Bridgerton for a trench coat for her latest role as Clarice Cliff, a pioneering ceramic artist who roared to prominence in the 1920s while working in Britain’s pottery industry.
Dynevor stars as Cliff in Sky’s original movie The Colour Room, and the Comcast-owned European broadcaster has released a first-look image of the actress in the drama, in which she features opposite Matthew Goode.
The Colour Room is produced by Caspian Films, Sky, and Creative England, while the feature is based on a BAFTA Rocliffe-winning script from Claire Peate. Ophelia helmer Claire McCarthy directs. Additional cast includes David Morrissey (The Walking Dead), Darci Shaw (Judy), Kerry Fox (Rare Beasts), and Luke Norris (Poldark).
Here’s the logline: “The Colour Room follows the journey of a determined, working class woman, Clarice Cliff, as she breaks the glass ceiling and revolutionizes the workplace in the 20th century.

In mid-March, while Americans were beginning to reckon with job losses and isolation spurred by coast-to-coast shelter-in-place orders, Bj Barham performed the American Aquarium songbook for shut-in fans via livestream, one album at a time. On the sixth night, he debuted the band’s new album, Lamentations (New West Records), released on Friday.
As Barham performed skeletal, acoustic versions of the songs, he kept reaching back to the title track, “Me + Mine (Lamentations),” to explain the album’s theme. In the song, inspired by the Old Testament’s Book of Lamentations,...

When it comes to low-budget British movies one of the easiest to create seems to be the gangster movie and I’ll admit it that when I got Age of Kill to watch that is exactly what I expected. Thankfully what I found instead was an action movie that takes the subject of terrorism in London and adds a little twist.
Sam Blake (Martin Kemp) is a black ops sniper who finds himself blackmailed into killing six seemingly random people in six hours. If he fails this or tries to contact the police or his bosses his daughter will be killed. As he performs the kills with the police in close pursuit the...

Principal photography has started on UK action-thriller Age Of Kill, from director Neil Jones and writer Simon Cluett.
Jones’ sophomore film stars Martin Kemp (The Krays) as a sniper forced to murder six random people in six hours to save his kidnapped daughter, played by Dani Dyer (Vendetta). He later realises the murders are part of a political coup and attempts to unmask the kidnappers.
The cast also features Phil Davis, April Pearson, Anouska Mond, Nick Moran, Tony Denham, Donna Air and Patrick Bergin.
“We have assembled a fantastic cast to do justice to Simon’s script: a fast-paced page-turner, which feels much more like an American picture than your standard British film,” said Jones.
The film is being produced by indie Richwater Films along with Anchor Bay UK. Jones will produce the film, alongside Luke Fairbrass and Richwater’s Jonathan Sothcott.

Who would have thunk that some random genre movie featuring a vampire priest could turn out so horribly? Don’t answer that, it’s a rhetorical question, but The Reverend does absolutely nothing to advance crazy cult cinema blending religion and horror, as writer/director Neil Jones offers a fangless, spiritless chore to sit through. When I’m watching a screener, I can always preempt reviews with an initial reaction based on how many times I glance at my phone for momentary relief. For every glance, a film loses a review star. Based on that scale, The Reverend should have stood around -1,395 stars, but since our rating scale doesn’t exactly go that low, some adjustments had to be made – but please understand how atrociously underwhelming this vengeful vampire story reveals itself to be.
Stuart Brennan stars as the titular Reverend, a new priest in a small, rural town.

★★☆☆☆ Rutger Hauer plays Satan, Doug Bradley is a priest, Shane Ritchie camps it up as a vile pimp and Tamer Hassan aims for gentrified land owner. That sentence alone should make Neil Jones' low-budget British horror worth watching, but The Reverend (2011) is unfortunately hamstrung by a muddled screenplay, unconvincing central performance and a lack of knowing that its casting would otherwise suggest might be present.

Sometimes it’s good to start watching a film with low expectations. This is not being negative about the film; it’s just a case of not knowing much about it and giving it a chance to surprise. With The Reverend I decided to do this even though the cast actually shows some real potential. It’s not every day Rutger Hauer and Doug Bradley appear in a relatively small budget film together, and even the inclusion of Shane Richie from Eastenders was quite a surprise to see.
The story, which proclaims itself based on a graphic novel, is about a new Reverend who has been given an easy job for his first parish. Stuck between a peaceful village and quite close to a...

Ted (15)
(Seth MacFarlane, 2012, Us) Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlane, Joe McHale, Giovanni Ribisi. 106 mins
Those unconvinced by MacFarlane's Family Guy cartoon series will be even less convinced by his first feature – basically a routine manchild/bromance story with one novel idea: Wahlberg has a magic talking teddy, which has grown up into an obnoxious party animal – thus creating relationship issues with shrewish girlfriend Kunis. It's all gags and no comedy. And if you're anything other than white, male and pop culture-literate, you'll find the humour at best patchy, at worst, downright nasty.
Sound Of My Voice (15)
(Zal Batmanglij, 2011, Us) Christopher Denham, Nicole Vicius, Brit Marling. 85 mins
As with Another Earth, co-writer Marling takes an unorthodox line through a familiar genre here. This time she's a spacey/scary cult leader who claims to be from the year 2054. A couple of investigative journalists get out of their depth taking her on.

★☆☆☆☆ You could be forgiven for thinking that a film entitled The Reverend (2011) would be a life affirming experience. Unfortunately, the new indie Brit horror written and directed by Neil Jones and starring Stuart Brennan, Tamer Hassan, Rutger Hauer and Doug Bradley is devoid of any such saving grace - sitting through it is an endurance test akin to penance.

Metrodome have just announced a UK release date of the 3rd of August for their new horror The Reverend starring Rutger Hauer.
We’ve got the first look at the poster for this eclectic production which sees Hauer in this tale of a man of the cloth up against some nasty vampire terrorising a remote village. This is writer/director Neil Jones’ third feature film and also stars Tamer Hassan Shane Richie.
Here’s a synopsis to tickle you in all the right places,
Fresh from seminary school, a new Reverend arrives at his first parish; a small chapel in an apparently idyllic country village. But something sinister lurks beneath the surface, and late one night it comes to his door in the guise of a frightened little girl… Waking the next morning with a bloody bite, insatiable hunger and no sign of the girl; The Reverend sets out on his mission.

I’m not sure if we previously talked about this project, but here we are to make things up. We have the first trailer and two pretty cool posters for the upcoming Deranged movie, which comes from director Neil Jones. The movie looks totally spanish, (which is logical since it was shot in Spain), and it [...]

Here’s the first look at brand new British Inide movie called Deranged. It comes to us from EnMar Productions in what is their first feature film alongside Templeheart Films who Co-Produced it. The film was shot in Spain and as you’ll see from the trailer features some beautiful scenery right up until it turns rather more dark and then that scenery is the least of your worries!
Deranged is directed by Neil Jones, written by Oscar Carrión and stars Craig Fairbrass (Cliffhanger, Rise of the Footsoldier and Eastenders!), Marcia Do Vales (The Reverend), Natalia Celino, Victoria Broom, Tabby Quitman and Pablo Olewski.
Synopsis: Four girls go on a bachelorette party weekend to a country house, in rural Spain. Little did they know what someone had planned for them. The sweet party turns sour when the host is mysteriously attacked and one by one, the guests must fend off an unknown assailant.
