Alex Rodriguez is currently serving a 162-game suspension from Major League Baseball for violating drug policy, but even though he’s 39 years old, he has every intention of making his way back to Yankee Stadium in 2015, if only to collect his more than $20 million per season salary. But though he’s won two Most Valuable Players as a Yankee and helped them win the 2009 World Series, Rodriguez’s infamy will likely prevent him from ever being considered an all-time Yankee.

New York -- On Monday morning, New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira, a two-time All-Star and World Series champion, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter's Scott Feinberg about the recent announcement that an international film festival will take place in the affluent Connecticut town in which he lives with his wife and three children -- and that he is a member of the board that is making it possible. The first Greenwich International Film Festival won't take place for another year -- it's slated for June 4-7, 2015 -- but THR decided to ask the 34-year-old for a preview

On June 11th, Samsung will host its 12th annual Hope for Children gala, an event celebrating the electronics company's charitable efforts, through which it has donated over $25 million to school, community, and charity organizations since 2002. Now, Samsung has invited celebrities to get in on the philanthropy, and YouTubers iJustine and DeStorm are among the participants in a Hope for Children social auction which will ultimately result in a $25,000 charitable donation. The contest, as iJustine explains in her entry video, challenges five competitors to generate the largest possible buzz related to Hope for Children. Whoever can generate the largest social media presence will win a $25,000 donation from Samsung to the charity of his or her choice. To rally his own troops, DeStorm has released a rap centered around the letter A. "I'm thrilled to be part of Samsung Hope for Children this year," he said. "This is my first year participating,...

The Major League Baseball season is underway and like normal, every pontificator who screamed from the mountain tops about how the season was going to go are now burning every recording device in their office. Baseball is an amazing sport, extremely difficult in many ways and a great reward for the patient. The difficulty necessitates a grueling 162 game season so that the best teams can advance to the post season, making it a certainty that the two teams that survive the process are in fact the best two teams that year. However, the same thing that makes Baseball a great sport can also be seen as something of a negative, they play 162 games!
Admittedly it’s hard to stay engaged around game 50, by early June even the Philly Fanatic is simply Phil the Reasonably Enthusiastic. To help you keep tabs on the long season let’s take a look at...

Britain's Prince Harry hit a home run when he took part in baseball drills yesterday (14.05.13). The 28-year-old royal - wearing a suit from an engagement earlier in the day to promote British business in Manhattan - met with youngsters and staff at Project Coach, an East Harlem-based programme which offers coaching opportunities and community mentoring and impressed everyone with his sporting skills when he took on New York Yankees star Mark Teixeira. The sportsman, who is a member of project coach, said: 'Everybody here enjoys having Yankees around but when Prince Harry shows up it takes it up to a whole different level. He's a very good athlete you can tell that right away. I was just telling...

Swoon. As if Prince Harry hasn't done enough during his U.S. tour to make the ladies' hearts melt, he goes off and plays some T-ball with the kids. After visiting damaged areas of New Jersey affected by Hurricane Sandy with Gov. Chris Christie this morning, he young royal made is way to Harlem, where he teamed up with Harlem Rbi, a nonprofit organization designed to provide inner-city youth with opportunities to "recognize their potential and realize their dreams" by coaching and playing on teams. During Harlem Rbi's Field of Dreams event, Prince Harry was joined by New York Yankees' first baseman Mark Teixeira and Sen. Jose Serrano as he coached the kids and even stepped up to...

It started just over a year ago. On September 1st 2011, the Boston Red Sox finished off their three-game series with their bitter rivals and Al East foes the New York Yankees knowing that whilst a defeat wasn’t a good thing, they would be leaving Beantown atop of the division regardless of the result. Nobody could have predicted then what fate awaited them less than a month later. After all, the Red Sox seemingly had the foundations in place for another tilt at the World Series, with many in the media tipping them to win it all and Espn analyst Bobby Valentine even going so far as to predict they’d “score 1,000 runs” on the season. Led by the best manager in the game, Terry Francona, and overseen by boy genius Gm Theo Epstein, life seemed pretty good for the Red Sox and their fans. That’s what made the events that followed so extraordinary.

Spike Lee is a very, very lucky sports fan.
The Oscar-nominated director is frequently seen sitting courtside at New York Knicks home games and occasionally interacting with the players during the NBA season. But during the summer, Lee gets his New York sports fix by heading up to the Bronx to watch the Yankees.
In the first inning of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Angels at Yankee Stadium, Lee was lucky enough to have Mark Teixeira accidentally launch his bat into his section right behind the home dugout. Lee quickly grabbed the bat, showed it off to the fans and then showed off his left-handed swing.. all with an enormous child-like smile on his face.

It’s been tough being hard on Entourage in my reviews here because I do genuinely still love the show; any doubt that my feelings had subsided was washed away as I watched this penultimate episode last night on Sky Atlantic and felt a genuine twinge of sadness when the continuity announcer hammered home the episode’s penultimate status.
Thankfully I’ve been able to ease up on my negativity lately because after a very poor mid-season lull (if you can even call eight episodes a ‘season’) the show has improved in the last couple of episodes and it’s looking like next week’s season, and series, finale won’t be a complete and utter dud.
That said, I have no earthly idea how they’re possibly going to satisfactorily conclude all the various storylines currently being juggled in one half hour episode.

New York -- Instead of guarding the lines, Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez got to say them.
The New York Yankees stars took a little time off from the pennant race to make guest appearances as themselves on the next-to-last episode of the HBO Comedy "Entourage," which aired for the first time Sunday night. This is one time players didn't mind being accused of acting.
"I'm not going to quit my day job," Teixeira said with a laugh before Monday's game against the Baltimore Orioles.
In the episode, Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) calls Teixeira during batting practice at Yankee Stadium and asks him to double his investment to $500,000 for a planned Los Angeles-area branch of Don Peppe, an Italian restaurant in New York. Teixeira turns him down, complaining about the cost of sending three kids to private school in Greenwich, Conn. A-Rod places a separate call during which he tells Turtle to stop pestering Teixeira.

To quote Uncle Jesse from my Full House days, "Whoah Baby!"
Eric, Eric, Eric. See what happens when you spend too much time nailing step moms? You turn your ex-flames into actual moms. That is, if Sloan decides to lay claim to E's vertically challenged baby and the impossibly short arms he/she will inevitably have. Sigh.
But at least everyone else in the wolf pack seems to be on an honest to goodness upswing these days. It's about time Entourage knocked one out of the park.
Thank goodness the action on "Second to Last" was more creative than its title. If I kicked off this rundown with anything other than the E/Sloan, ahem, development, I'd be remiss, so here goes:
Johnny Galecki's hair was really starting to bother me; Melinda's satin sheets and cougar-like grin were equally creepy; and Scott might've been right on the money when...

Looks like there's trouble brewing for Vincent "Don't Hate Me Because I'm Beautiful" Chase.
Nah, not really. He's just unhappy because the Vanity Fair story was completed and apparently Sophia struck a nerve. I mean, all she did was tell the world he's as deep as a puddle - correction: an insecure, womanizing puddle - and he freaks out. What's wrong with that? I'll tell you what's wrong with that, Sophia. Nobody messes with our Vince!
You basically called him stupid to his face. Then, you tried to use your fancy accent and your sophisticated finance-y words to distract him from it. It was the old "Look Over There It's My Super Important Brilliant New Interviewee... And Something Shiny, Look!" move. It's the oldest trick in the book. Well, we're not buying it, Sophia, and now you've gone and given him a complex about it. Nice job.

New York Yankees stars Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira have reportedly filmed a cameo appearance for Entourage's final season. The baseball stars shot a scene with the cast of Entourage at Yankee Stadium in New York City on Wednesday, a source disclosed to the New York Post's Page Six. Rodriguez and Teixeira are believed to be guest starring as potential investors in Turtle's (Jerry Ferrara) attempt to expand famed New York restaurant Don Peppe's into Los Angeles. Yankees first baseman Teixeira previously visited the Entourage cast as they filmed in a Hollywood gym last week, an eyewitness revealed to the paper. The source added: "Everyone's neck craned to (more)...

We’re a month and a half away from the Season Eight bow of Entourage and the details are spilling, little by little.
TVGuide reports that part of Vince’s 12 step recovery plan includes reaching out to his former flames in order to make amends and make sure they didn’t feel “used.” Hopefully this means that Carla Gugino will be back as Amanda Daniels and I’ll even take a return from Mandy Moore. Conversely, I hope I’m not alone in wishing that Sasha Gray does not return to the scene. It’s nothing personal against Sasha, but I want to forget everything about that somber seventh season.
And in other news, there’s now evidence of more sports cameos on the horizon.

2K Sports Image from the videogame Mlb 2K11.
It’s probably politically incorrect to write this, but what Mlb 2K11 really needs is a good dose of steroids.
The baseball game’s developers added some muscle in the off-season, tweaking and improving key problems and annoyances from last year’s version, but there’s just not enough there to recommend paying another $50 or so for the update to this console game for all but the most-hardcore fans of the franchise or first-time buyers.

Get ready for your fill of Johnnys on the final season of Entourage.
First, Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory) will play a version of himself on eight episodes of the HBO smash. Eric and Scott will sign him as a new client.
Also, viewers will watch as as Johnny Drama voices Johnny the Gorilla in the animated series Johnny's Bananas.
"We'll see some of the cartoon that I think people will get a kick out of," creator Doug Ellin told TV Guide. "I'd like to [launch] a full show of it after we finish this last season."
What else will the final season deliver?
Cameos by Christian Slater, Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira, Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony. Vince getting out of rehab. Ari trying to make everything right with his family. A possible appearance by Charlie Sheen: "I'm still waiting for Charlie to call me back," says Ellin.

"Entourage" has featured dozens of celebrity cameos over the course of its seven seasons, and it hopes to land one more big (and potentially newsworthy) one before it ends later this year.
Creator Doug Ellin is hoping to land Charlie Sheen for a guest spot on the show. "I called his manager and was told maybe I'd get him," Ellin tells TV Guide. "But I'm still waiting for Charlie to call me back. I'd come up with something good."
If a Sheen appearance is to be, it will have to happen in the next month or so: "Entourage" is scheduled to finish shooting its eighth and final season in mid-June. Season 8 will also feature cameos from Christian Slater and "The Big Bang Theory's" Johnny Galecki, who plays a client of Eric (Kevin Connolly) and Scott's (Scott Caan).
