The thrumming beat is the first thing you notice outside the Alhambra soundstage, as the lights flash like a mad scientist's lab. It grows louder and louder, the bass bringing life to the darkened street, making leaves twitch. As you enter, you see a spiky haired guy in metal gauntlets and futuristic garb, thrashing and gyrating in a room littered with robot parts and helmets.
Since the guy resembles a young Billy Idol, you realize it can only be Spider One, lead singer of the great metal band Powerman 5000. The band uniquely blends powerful songs around sci-fi and horror concepts. The new video is one of the more ambitious tracks on their new album, Somewere On The Other Side Of Nowhere.

"The song is called 'Supervillain'," explains Spider. "The video opens on the last punch of an epic battle as the superhero takes out the supervillain.
