If there’s one franchise that shouldn’t lend itself to Traveller’s Tales’ gleefully twee Lego games, it’s Batman.
With a movie series that prides itself on gritty, urban realness, a comic series that excels when it’s most twisted, and a rival game that’s bagged countless awards thanks to its ability to make slow-mo assault feel so enjoyable, cutesifying Batman for the kiddywinks simply should’t work.
Yet after their unequivocal success with Lego Batman back in 2008, everyone’s favourite angular Dark Knight is back – and this time he’s got more than a little help from his Lego superfriends.
Plot-wise, it’s as relatively throwaway as you’d expect for a game that needs to be accessible to seven-year-olds. After getting upstaged by Bruce Wayne at the Man of the Year awards, Lex Luthor reacts in typically megalomaniacal style and pushes for the Presidency. With...

With E3 2012 being a little under a month away a few of the writers of HeyUGuys Gaming wanted to toss out some predictions for what we think could conceivably be unveiled at the mecca of all gaming shows. Some predictions will fall into the land of the plausible while some might traverse the outer rims of absurdity, but take this adventure with us through the universe of conjecture; some things may even come true.
Tim Utley’s predictions
Nintendo:
This year could either return Nintendo to dominance or render them obsolete. This year at E3 Nintendo has the opportunity to create some waves especially in the hardware department. First I think Nintendo will change the name of the Wii U not drastically, but at least enough to make it not seem like an expansion to its predecessor. The Wii branding is strong, but not using “2” or “next” will create more confusion than interest.

Alan Collett has a great new ghost story film out now called The Shadows in which he stars in and helped produce. The Shadows follows five friends seeking refuge in an abandoned islands lighthouse after a near fatal collision with an unknown vessel. As they start to settle in, odd noises, strange artifacts and mysterious shadows emerge, bringing the group’s personal conflicts and secrets to the surface. When they receive a frantic warning that pirates are coming, the friends start questioning what is real and what is surreal on this mysterious island. Before long they must prepare to defend themselves against the foreboding "shadows" that threaten to take their souls. Collett also has the feature film 'Truth' coming out later this year about a terrorist cell that takes three Americans hostage and threatens to expose a secret that will shatter America's soul; and he is currently in-production on a third picture,...

A group of friends who have ended up shipwrecked on a small island are forced to seek refuge in an old, abandoned lighthouse only to discover that a curse has befallen upon them.
People watch horror films for a myriad of reasons, but three factors that stand out are- some want to be scared silly. Others look to horror for a greater range of creativity. And others just simply want to be entertained. The Shadows fails on all three counts as it goes through the motions telling an all too familiar story all too predictably while failing to illicit any scares or build up any suspense. Even at eighty some odd minutes, The Shadows seems longer then it really is, because the film has one repetitive situation after another...

Accomplished graphic designer and friend of HeyUGuys Paul Collett has drawn up some pretty cool Star Wars inspired artwork and we wanted to share these with you here.
The legendary theme of Star Wars has been remixed many times, and being a product of the 70s the disco mix is a lot of fun. Taking inspiration from George Lucas’s iconic designs Paul Collett has rendered these great posters below.

One of best things about movies is that they have a powerful ability to affect us on many levels, and we each have our own personal experiences where a movie has lifted our spirits.
This is a one of those stories from Paul Collett, a good friend of the site, on how Michael J. Fox, Luke Skywalker and Buzz Lightyear once teamed up to help him through a tough time.
About a year ago I had a week off work with some kind of virus which meant I couldn’t or perhaps shouldn’t leave the house, and as the boredom set in the inevitable search through the DVD collection started. To my delight I found Teen Wolf, a present bought for me one Christmas from my best bud Jon (you may know him if you’re regulars to the site), I watched it and utterly enjoyed it, despite the...
