Joe's visual effects and animation expertise range from feature films and television commercials to music videos and theme park attraction films. As an animator and artist with broad skills in film production, post production, character design, illustration animation and music, Joe, is well known and well liked across the industry. He has created or supervised visual effects, animation and artwork for innumerable companies including Sony Pictures Imagworks, MTV, Disney, Nickelodeon, Paramount, Columbia Pictures, Warner Brothers, Jive Records, NASA, Boeing, CBS, Burger King, Mac Donalds, Mc Cann Erickson, Chicago Bulls, Durham Bulls, Toyota, Campbell's, MasterCard, Coca Cola, Marvel Comics, Wolfmill Comics, Exxon, American Express, Razorbacks, Florida Marlins, Florida Panthers, Alamo, Camel, Bacardi, Hiram Walker, Mc Cann Erickson, Tropicana, Kodak, UNICEF, and many more. Joe has a log history of building teams in Miami, New York, Orlando, and Los Angeles to carry out animated films, Visual Effects music videos, commercials and theme park attractions for large-scale clients. Due to his vast experience and history in the industry Joe is often called upon to give animation lectures and instruction for companies, universities and events including AliaslWavefront, SIGGRAPH, Mac World, University of Southern California, Full Sail, University of Central Florida, and Sony Pictures.
Most recently As Character Rigging Supervisor for CafeFX Joe finished work on Tim Burtan's Alice In Wonderland (feature Film - 2010), and Harry Potter (Universal Studios Ride Film - 2010) Joe has built the character creation department from the ground up. Trained a team of riggers, cloth and character FX artists to replicate a standardized rigging process for all character animation a Cafe FX and execute all character FX... Implemented advanced character system automation, everything from photo real creatures and crowds to talking, acting, Disney characters.
As a Senior Technical Animator for Sony Pictures Imageworks, Joe has been an integral part of completing breakthrough feature films for Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg, Columbia Pictures and Warner Brothers creating block busters like Polar Express, Monster House, and the soon to be released 2007 Marvel Comics hit Ghostrider starring Nicolas Cage.
Joe currently sits on the Computer Animation Degree Program Advisory Board for Full Sail School of Animation where he has served since 1998.
As Author of The Maya 4.5 Bible for Wiley Publishing. His work has been featured and or published in numerous trade magazines including CGW, Digital Magic, Easy Rider, Hot Rod, Markee, and Post magazines;
As Project Lead Animator for Nickelodon Digital Labs at MTV, Joe has supervised teams to create animated pilots, commercials, and music videos featuring Jimmy Neutron, Maniac McGee, Sponge Bob Square Pants, The Alan Brady Show (Carl Reiner) and Aaron Carter.
