Walmart has such sights to show you. The retail giant is apparently in the extradimensional sadomasochism game, as they now sell the puzzle box from Hellraiser as, why not, a kids toy.
Marketed as a Stem building toy, the Hellraiser puzzle box has this description on the Walmart website: “The configuration puzzle cube can move and change shape like in a movie. It can be an educational toy to help children build self-esteem and confidence, develop spatial awareness, train memory skills, and exercise hand-eye coordination.”
The Hellraiser puzzle box depicted is known as the Lament Configuration, designed by the fictional Philip LeMarchand. And since it is used as a door to other dimensions, you absolutely do not want your child to solve it–unless you want Butterball and Chatterer the Cenobites reading “Goodnight Moon” to them before bed.
Ah, the brain games. The sweet, sweet brain games. pic.twitter.com...

As we prepare for David Bruckner’s new take on Clive Barker‘s iconic text Hellraiser, what better time to re-evaluate the state of the franchise up to this point?
Even a cursory glance at the ten existing Hellraiser films reveals that not all Cenobite films are made equal. And while the top film is a given, what about the other slots?
Here are my definitive rankings…
10 – Hellraiser: Revelations (2011)
Like many major horror series in the 2000s and beyond, Hellraiser properties were driven by rights issues. Revelations suffers as a result. Dimension Films needed to release a new film or else they would lose the rights, so Revelations was rushed into production and made on the cheap.
Fans of the franchise decried the loss of Doug Bradley, who for the first time refused to reprise his role as Pinhead (let’s be honest: replacement Stephan Smith Collins never stood a chance). Still,...

Clive Barker's "Hellraiser" series is one of the most recognizable franchises in modern horror history. The gothic horror saga that combined Bdsm, queer subtext, and philosophical agony has proven to be a favorite with fans for decades.
In adapting his own novella, "The Hellbound Heart," Barker brought some much-needed freshness to horror in the 1980s at a time when the slasher villain ruled the roost. Centered on a mysterious puzzle box, the series revealed the demonic sado-masochistic forces of the Cenobites, a priest-like order of former humans who harvest souls for violent experiments. The head of these Cenobites, known as Pinhead, is one of the true icons of horror villainy. Freddy Krueger may offer great one-liners and Jason can slice you up good, but Pinhead is the one who gets into your head.
The "Hellraiser" franchise is a curious mish-mash of great ideas, ambition, studio meddling, and harried script rewrites.

Pinhead isn’t Pinhead. Any Clive Barker fan will be quick to point out that the iconic character from the beloved adaptation of the novel The Hellbound Heart is credited as Lead Cenobite, and known in the fiction as “the Priest,” a devotee of a dark, arcane religion. But in an era of gimmicky slashers like Freddy, Leatherface, and Jason, the Priest needed a catchier sobriquet, and so he was dubbed Pinhead, much to Barker’s chagrin. But even as it became increasingly standard, the name always seemed like an ill-fitting title for the elegant character portrayed by Doug Bradley.
For those reasons, director David Bruckner had no qualms about casting Jamie Clayton as the Priest for his Hellraiser reboot, which comes to Hulu on October 7. “We always knew that [a female Pinhead] made sense given the history of the franchise and the kinds of fans that have embraced it,” Bruckner told The Hollywood Reporter.

The character now known as Pinhead first appeared in Clive Barker's 1986 novel "The Hellbound Heart," as merely one of a small group of supernatural sadomasochists from beyond the grave. A character named Frank, a sexual hedonist on a mad search for the ultimate sensual experience, solves a mystical puzzle box that magically summons threatening, leather-clad beings called Cenobites. The Cenobites have long since shed their humanity in devotion to S&m-inflected sensory overload which requires their bodies to be in a constant state of mutilation. The Pinhead Cenobite, not expressly male or female, was described thus:
"Its voice, unlike that of its companion, was light and breathy -- the voice of an excited girl. Every inch of its head had been tattooed with an intricate grid, and at every intersection of horizontal and vertical axes a jeweled pin driven through to the bone. Its tongue was similarly decorated."

It's only a matter of weeks now until the dark priest of hell shows us all such sights with Hulu's new take on "Hellraiser." Based on Cliver Barker's novella "The Hellbound Heart," this new film from director David Bruckner ("The Night House") seems less concerned with whether it serves as a remake, reimagining, or sequel, and more with the prospect of making Pinhead scary again.
The film stars Hiam Abbass, Odessa A'zion, Adam Faison, Brandon Flynn, Aoife Hinds, Selina Lo, Drew Starkey, and Goran Visnjic. Little is known of what "Hellraiser" is all about besides another group of curious minds toying with the deadly Lament Configuration, but the brief synopsis shows that, much like Ashley Laurence's Kirsty Cotton, another poor soul is about to come face to face with the infamous leader of the Cenobites known as Pinhead:

The teaser, embedded above, for the Hellraiser reboot gave us a glimpse of Jamie Clayton (Sense8) as Pinhead, and yesterday we got the first actual picture of Clayton’s Pinhead. Fans have been sharing their opinions on this take on the character… but what does the original Pinhead, Doug Bradley, think about Clayton stepping into the role that made him a genre icon? Our friends at Bloody Disgusting shared what Bradley had to say about the casting while he was making an appearance at the Silver Scream Con in Massachusetts:
It seemed like [a female Pinhead] was coming. It’s an interesting piece of casting. I don’t know Jamie. Of course, they’ve taken even a little bit of a wrinkle in that, because Jamie is transgender. I’m not familiar with her recent work, but there was a science fiction series on Netflix several years ago called Sense8, which I was quite a fan of.

The eternal tormentor returns in Dimension Films’ Hellraiser: Judgment, the tenth film in the franchise created by Clive Barker. With production currently underway on the project, the actor playing Pinhead has been revealed, along with the rest of the main cast, which includes an actress from another enduring horror franchise, A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Bloody Disgusting reports that Paul T. Taylor plays Pinhead in Hellraiser: Judgment. An actor with experience both on the stage and in front of the camera, Taylor has appeared in a number of films and TV shows, including Sin City, Deadroom, and Super. Hellraiser: Judgment director Gary J. Tunnicliffe told Fangoria that Taylor will bring “more than a hint of Peter Cushing and Ralph Fiennes” to the role of Pinhead.

Welcome to Outrage Watch, HitFix's semi-regular rundown of entertainment-related kerfuffles. Not feeling anxious enough already? Get your fix of righteous indignation below, and stay posted for outrage updates throughout the week. Doug Bradley is a British actor who rose to fame thanks to his role as the iconic white-faced demon Pinhead in the Hellraiser film series. So why is he ripping into the franchise's latest installment? In a slam posted to his official Facebook page earlier this week, the actor badmouthed the project in no uncertain terms, claiming he walked away from reprising the demonic ghoul in Hellraiser; Judgment after being told he would have to sign a non-disclosure agreement (a standard document that threatens legal action if the signee publicly discloses details of the project) before the script could be sent to him. "This was a three page document preventing me from talking about the script 'in restrooms', 'on elevators',...

Horror author Clive Barker has officially been handed writing responsibilities on the 'Hellraiser' remake thanks to Dimension Pictures. Barker, who also directed the original 1987 version, met with Bob Weinstein of Dimension recently and pitched his ideas for a remake of the cult horror classic. The writer announced it all on his Facebook page mentioning an 'even darker' version this time around whilst 'telling the story with a fresh intensity'. And even better news is that British actor Doug Bradley would indeed return to once more to play Pinhead. The actor portrayed the spiky headed one in the first 8 installments of the franchise but was replaced by Stephan Smith Collins for the rushed, and poor, 2011 sequel 'Hellraiser: Revelations' which was made in 3 weeks simply to retain studio rights to the franchise. Check out what Barker had to say below....

Cheap sequel meant to cash in on the popularity of the Hellraiser series. Being honest, Stephan Smith Collins is no Doug Bradley. Collins lacks the powerful presence that Bradley exuded in the role of Pinhead. Plot elements dealing with the Cenobites lack the pizazz or finesse of earlier entries. However, the story involving two teenage kids (Nick Eversman, Jay Gillespie) and how they get involved with the box is pretty interesting. In fact that is the best part about Hellraiser: Revelations. The ninth film in the Hellraiser film series is set to move to DVD shelves October 18th and now the first trailer for this feature is available. Actor Doug Bradley has played Pinhead, the central antagonist, in the previous eight films, but he declined to participate in this latest film, titled Hellraiser: Revelations, after reading the script (Bradley). The short shoot time of two weeks also signals a possible rush to complete the film by Puzzlebox Films, which has no other titles attached to its name. Horror fans and Hellraiser fans can take a look at the clip here, which involves a late night at a bar, a bum, a box, and a bumbling line or two.

I'm rather convinced that Pinhead, the nattering Cenobite demon from Clive Barker's Hellraiser series, is so mean and evil because he just can't get any good Advil. When you have that many pins in your head, you have to be in so much pain that the only thing you can think to do is unleash the hordes of hell on an unsuspecting Earth, right?
The image above is of the new Pinhead, played by Stephan Smith Collins, in the direct-to-dvd Hellraiser: Revelations movie due out next year.
I'm thinking the director might also have a headache on par with Pinhead. When movies go direct-to-dvd, it usually is a sign that much pain is ahead.

Hellraiser: Revelations is the ninth film in the Hellraiser series and will be the first to not feature Doug Bradley as Pinhead. The film bounced around for years, either rumored to be a reboot or a remake, but now that filming has wrapped, we're getting a lot more details spilling out. First, it's neither reboot nor remake so much as just another film in the line, though how loyal it will be to various plot points of the interminable sequels is still up in the air and probably doesn't really matter to anyone anyway. The plot is summarized as:

It's hard to imagine anyone but the great Doug Bradley in the make-up as the iconic Pinhead, but like it or not, it is happening. Replacing Bradley is actor Stephan Smith Collins, and we've got your first look at him in character.
Styd scored the first images (click the link to see the other) from the flick which you can see below. Shock indicates that they're not sure if this is Pseudo Pinhead or the master himself, but for our money Stephan Smith Collins still comes through no matter the make-up. Dig on the images below and let us know what you think.
Collins is joined by Devon Sorvari, Steven Brand, Sanny Van Heteren, Tracey Fairaway, Daniel Buran, Nick Eversman, and Jay Gillespie, who will star as "Nico/Pseudo-Pinhead". Director Victor Garcia (Mirrors 2) is directing from Gary J. Tunnicliffe's script.

Go ahead and tell us/let them know what you think!

It's time to meet your new master as the first ever photos from Hellraiser: Revelations have leaked online. The website that posted the two images indicates they aren't sure if it's Pinhead or Pseudo-Pinhead, but it's pretty damn obvious to me that what you'll see below is Stephan Smith Collins as your new Pinhead, along with a piece of concept art. Talk back and tell us whether or not you agree, and what You think of the first pic. Do you like your new master? Directed by Víctor Garcia (Return to House on Haunted Hill, Mirrors II) from a screenplay by special effects artists Gary Tunnicliffe, the plot will follow two friends who unleash Pinhead, who becomes their master of pain. Apparently, one of the friends has a change of heart. He backs out on his oath hoping to swap himself out with one of hi friend's family members.

Pseudo-Pinhead. Pinhead. We're not sure what moniker this cenobite is taking, but an anonymous tipster just slipped us these photos and we're pretty certain it is from Hellraiser: Revelations , which recently wrapped in Los Angeles with Victor Garcia in the director's chair. Who's the man beneath the make-up? Not Doug Bradley, that's for sure. It's actually Stephan Smith Collins, a new actor to play Pinhead. We're told the "pseudo-Pinhead" make-up also featured in the sequel is very much different.

Our friend Ryan Rotten over at Styd just got two exclusive photos of what appears to be the new Pinhead in full makeup. Many of you voiced your anger over the direction the Hellraiser series is taking basically leaving Doug Bradley (the real Pinhead) opting out of the ninth installment...
Filming has wrapped on the small budget installment in Los Angeles with Victor Garcia in the director's seat. This version of Pinhead has been identified as Pseudo-Pinhead and Nico. Who's under the makeup here is unclear as Stephan Smith Collins was the actor chosen to replace the large shoes left by Doug Bradley. Feast on the images below and stay tuned for more information about this project as we get more info.

Horrorbid and other sources are reporting that Stephan Smith Collins has been cast as Pinhead, the leader of the cebobite's in Hellraiser: Revelations. The new straight to DVD sequel will be directed by Victor Garcia from a script written by Gary Tunnicliffe.
The film, which should not be confused with the long-awaited Hellraiser reboot, is currently filming in Los Angeles on a tight shooting schedule and an even tighter budget.
It has also been reported that Clive Barker is not completely on board with the 'Revelations' Pinhead design, stating that this version of his original creation is too bloody. We'll have to see how it all "fleshes" out.

There’s been quite a bit of behind the scenes movement on the latest entry in the Hellraiser series, Hellraiser: Revelations – and there has to be, the film needs to be in the can by the end of the year in order for Dimension to retain the rights to the franchise. According to Bloody Disgusting, the cast of the movie is now almost complete – it includes Devon Sorvari (The Dark, The Realm), Steven Brand (as “Dr. Ross Craven”), Sanny Van Heteren (as “Kate Bradley”), Tracey Fairaway (as “Emma”) and Daniel Buran (as “Vagrant”).
Also cast in the film – which is currently filming in Los Angeles under the direction of Víctor Garcia (Return to House on Haunted Hill, Mirrors II) - are Nick Eversman (Vampires Suck) as “Steven” and Jay Gillespie will star as “Nico, aka Pseudo-Pinhead”. But the biggest announcement is about this guy:

The story has two friends, Nico (Jay Gillespie) and Steve (Nick Eversman), unleashing Pinhead while on a sight-seeing trip through Mexico. When Steve skips out on his deal with the Hellish denizen, he must swap himself with one of his own family members.

Gary J. Tunnicliffe wrote the screenplay and Victor Garcia ("Return to House on Haunted Hill") helms the project which is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

Having been burned several times by all of these impossibly pathetic “Hellraiser” sequels, the idea of yet another installment in the franchise doesn’t butter my bread the way it does for others. What’s even more distressing is the absence of Doug Bradley, who has understandably left the franchise after decades of loyal service. Bloody Disgusting recently revealed that Mr. Bradley’s replacement will be Stephan Smith Collins, the actor pictured below. I’m not sure who the guy is, but he’s certainly got the “Pinhead” look. No offense to Mr. Collins, of course. And while I’m not entirely sold on the idea of yet another entry in this stale series, it will be interesting to see someone else tackle this iconic role.

Principal photography has wrapped for Hellraiser: Revelations, the latest low-budget entry into the Hellraiser saga. While much of the cast has been announced - including Devon Sorvari (The Dark), Steven Brand (The Scorpion King), and Nick Eversman (Vampires Suck), the most important role - Pinhead - was not announced. Until now... Bloody-Disgusting.com is reporting that Stephan Smith Collins will play Pinhead, after the original Pinhead, Doug Bradley, declined to come back. Dimension Films have rushed like the wind to get a new Hellraiser film into the can otherwise they’d lose the franchise rights by the end of this year. So now we have Hellraiser: Revelations in production out in Los Angeles, making it the ninth film in the series. Wow.
Of course what studio execs and Clive Barker want is a proper remake, but Dimension Films are dragging their feet over that one. So we’ll have Hellraiser: Revelations, a low budget quota-quickie directed by Mirrors 2 helmer Victor Garica, screenplay by Gary Tuncliffe.
Doug Bradley for the first time in the series twenty-three years history will not be playing Pinhead. Maybe even he got fed up! Instead Bloody Disgusting report Stephan Smith Collins has been cast to play the iconic Pope of Pain.

As previously reported, Dimension Films recently made the surprise announcement that, after years of trying to set up a remake, a ninth film in the original Hellraiser series was in production. Now Bloody Disgusting have unearthed the scoop that Hellraiser: Revelations has cast a new Pinhead. It's Stephan Smith Collins. Nope, us neither. He had a small role in The Darwin Awards with David Arquette a few years ago, and his CV also includes films called Where's My Stuff? and Come Fly With Me Nude.Doug Bradley was reportedly not at all interested in reprising his signature iconic role (from the Clive Barker original and seven times subsequently) as the creepily elegant, somewhat pierced leader of the demon cenobites, and after Hellworld, you can see why. Revelations, on a tight schedule and an even tighter budget, seems to be in production largely to stop Dimension's hold on the Hellraiser rights from lapsing.

Just how bad were the last few Hellraiser sequels? I ask because the absolute last straw for me was the one in which Dean Winters fell victim to an inexplicably malicious Kirsty Cotton. And now it seems Dimension has gone ahead with a sequel so sloppy and half-assed that Doug Bradley has decided he won't be involved. What can that possibly tell you about the quality?
Regardless, the ever-diligent folks at Bloody-Disgusting have learned who will be stepping into Pinhead's robe for the upcoming Hellraiser: Arbitrary Noun Here. Stephan Smith Collins (pictured, right) will play the Lead Cenobite, as he menaces a duo who've somehow opened the puzzle box.
