A full Free Movie of the Day is posted on the JoBlo Movies YouTube channel every day of the week – but on Fridays things get a little freakier and a little more fun. Get your weekend started the right way by indulging in Friday Fright Nights! Every Friday, we’ll be taking a look at another genre movie you can watch in its entirety, free of charge, either on the YouTube channel linked above or in the video embed here.
This week’s Friday Fright Nights feature is writer/director Tyler Christensen’s 2016 horror film House of Purgatory. A while back, when writing about the slasher Scare Zone (which is set in and around a Halloween haunted attraction), I encouraged inspiring filmmakers with access to haunted attractions to use those locations to their advantage, just like the makers of Scare Zone did. Director: Robert Cappelletto. Writers: Robert Cappelletto and H.P. Lovecraft. Cast: Barret Walz, Maurice McNicholas, Tom Lodewyck, Joyce Porter, and Mike Dobray. Fans of H.P. Lovecraft may be thrilled to find two tales rolled into one in Pickman’s Muse. Readers will find the character from “Pickman’s Model” tossed into the horrors found in “Haunter in the Dark.” In this movie, he is named Robert Pickman (Barret Walz) than Richard. The protagonist is a painter who loses his inspiration and desire to create. But one morning, the skies are alive with a beckoning golden vista with the tower of a dilapidated church speaking to him. Cinematographer Robert Cappelletto does an amazing job in making camera magic. He is like Picasso when considering how careful the hues and saturations work in the lighting of the cityscape and interior sets. To capture a golden sunrise really requires knowing how the video camera works.

Cory J. Udler is a horror fans director. This indie director makes the movies the fans want to see without giving in to "the suits"pressure. He has Incest Death Squad 1 and 2 that are already out and available and now he's working on his next film Mediatrix that we dive right into and talk about. Check out my latest Versus with director Cory Udler.
Brian S- First off, tell me about Mediatrix.
Cory Udler- Nobody's going to believe me, but it's based on a true story. Our story is about Mary Ann Van Hook, born into a world of false spiritualism, opiated by her mother. She basically parlays her manipulation skills into power over people, inevitably over someone who has done her wrong in the past. But she not only ruins things for that person along the way, she leaves a trail of broken bodies and bruised souls as well.

Have you ever wanted to be in a film? Well sure you have! Here's your chance to be a part of a cool short film called Afraid of Sunrise that is based on the feature length screenplay Afraid on Sunlight. This project already has a very impressive cast that includes Andy Schatner as Jonathan Sloan, Heather Chilson as Sadie, Heather Dorff as Perrey, Tom Lodewyck as The Senator, Elana Cohn as Prostitute, Susie Wallin as Samantha, Rick Molinari as Stephen, and Deneen Melody(As night Falls, Slices of Life,Western X and Don't Look in the Basement) as, well I'll tell you this much, if you donate enough to the project you get to be in a scene with her! That's like a really cool treat in my eyes!
Hey you! This is Deneen to the left!
