Exclusive: Ahead of its bow at Series Mania, French sci-fi drama Sea Shadows been picked up for distribution.
France TV Distribution has acquired rights to the show, which is from Mintee Studio and Thalie Images and is for the sale house’s stablemate, France 2.
The series, originally known as Rivages, will follow a marine scientist who returns to her hometown of Fécamp to research a mysterious shipwreck and finds mysterious phenomena occurring at sea that are stopping fishermen from doing their jobs. She soon realizes that an underwater presence is about to upset the fragile balance between man and nature.
The project is one of several that were selected for Unifrance’s Coming Next From France presentation at next month’s Series Mania in Lille.

Mediawan’s newly launched banner StoryNation Productions label is kicking off with a pair of internationally driven shows based on hit IP’s, “Escort Boys” and “Hot Ones.”
The company was created last year by two well-established producers, Charlotte Toledano Detaille and Jean-Paul Géronimi who both previously worked at Lagardere Studios which is now part of Mediawan.
Ordered by Amazon Prime Video, “Escort Boys” marks the TV debut of Ruben Alves, the filmmaker of the “Gilded Cage” and “Miss.” StoryNation is producing the series with Myriam Gharbi de Vasselot at Oberkampf Productions, another Mediawan group label.

Signature Entertainment has debuted the official UK trailer for an intense rescue drama titled 15 Minutes of War, based on the shocking true story of a hostage situation in 1976 in Somali. From director Fred Grivois, the film stars Olga Kurylenko as an American teacher accompanying twenty-one French children. Their school bus is taken hostage at the Somali border, so the Gign is sent and after 30 hours of tension their plan is executed.
