The Apprentice winner Tim Campbell has revealed that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer in October.
The entrepreneur, who won the first series of the BBC show in 2005, is now recovering following surgery last month, the London Evening Standard reports.
Campbell explained that he received the diagnosis on October 31, a day before he intended to take part in Movember to raise awareness of the disease.
He said: "The day before Movember started, on October 31, I got the call. It was confirmation that I had testicular cancer. I'd gone to see my doctor thinking it was just a normal ache and pain."
The star - who now serves as Mayor of London Boris Johnson's ambassador for training and enterprise - said that his wife was "distraught" when he informed her of his condition.
"There is a fear of the word," he said. "My wife was distraught as her mother had...

The winner of the first series of The Apprentice has said that Lord Alan Sugar is a "tough man". Tim Campbell, 32, worked for Sugar for two years after his 2005 victory before founding a financial recruitment firm and the Bright Ideas Trust charity. He is also apprenticeships ambassador for the Mayor of London and is currently promoting Apprenticeship Week. Talking about working for Sugar, Campbell told Metro: "He's a tough man. Some people say he's a pussycat - he's not. You don't get to where he got by letting people walk over you. "You don't see the other side of him on The Apprentice though; he's a family man, he can be incredibly funny and he's incredibly generous - he's practically built the Hackney Empire and he's supported Great Ormond Street very well. I've got a lot of respect (more)...
