One cannot let bad movies get in the way of being a horror geek. We struggle through tons of rotten movies (that usually have great promotional artwork) in order to locate the good and occasionally great pieces of genre cinema -- but sometimes a really bad horror flick is nothing short of mystifying. As in: not only is the new indie horror / thriller Jinn an outrageously bad film, but how does something so amateurish make it way into 150 theaters while great indies open in 16 theaters and VOD at the same time? Money, that's how. The company that bankrolled the SyFy-grade Jinn (and jammed it with bizarre promotions for an automobile) also paid for a semi-wide release. So this is not a case of a distributor risking money on an indie film they really like; it's a bunch of wannabe filmmakers playing pretend. And boy does the result show on the screen.

Jinn, a new horror thriller written and directed by Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad, seems to have it all: ancient mythology, supernatural beings, and humans battling overwhelming forces in a classic struggle for survival. But most of all, Jinn has Firebreather, a highly customized Chevrolet Camaro built especially for use in the film.
The hero in Jinn is played by Ray Park – Darth Maul from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Toad from X-Men. A former movie stuntman, Park drives Firebreather throughout the film as he takes on the Jinn, legendary supernatural creatures who walk invisibly among humans until they emerge to stir up trouble. Of course, this very special car plays an important role in an epic Bullit-meets-Underworld battle. While Park may technically be cast in the lead role, the real star of Jinn – well, for gearheads at least – is Firebreather.

Many believe that in addition to humans and angels, God also created a group of creatures known as the Jinn (or Djinn), which are unseen to us humans and are comprised primarily of fire. The Jinn appear in Islamic and Arabic folklore, and the term literally means "hidden from sight." This April, they finally come out of hiding.

Today sees the release of the very first trailer for the supernatural film Jinn, directed by Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad. What is a Jinn, you ask? Well, they are spiritual creatures that are common in Arabic folklore and are mentioned in several Islamic texts. Apparently, the concept is quite well known.
Here’s the official plot summary for more details:
In the beginning, three were created. Man made of clay. Angels made of light. And a third made of fire. For centuries, stories of angels and men have captured the imagination and been etched into history crossing all boundaries of culture, religion and time. These two races have dominated the landscape of modern mythology, shrouding the evidence that a third was ever created. This third race, born of smokeless fire, was named the jinn. Modern man has all but forgotten this third race ever existed. It is time for him to remember.

"Some people believe if you talk about the Jinn, they will come to you." Last week, Freestyle Releasing acquired the theatrical rights to Jinn, a supernatural thriller that stars Ray Park (Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, X-men) as Gabriel, an awesome looking creature based on folklore. We also have the Firebreather, a “V8, 618 horsepower super exotic American muscle car with 50 limited editions being produced as the exact replica of the vehicle in the film” and based on a fifth generation Chevy Camaro. The film comes from Exxodus Pictures, a Detroit based company, so the car is an ode to the Detroit automobile industry.

This trailer for Jinn was made available earlier this month, but this horror movie lover was too knee deep in Geoffrey Chaucer to do anything about it. Now, a high quality version of the clip is available and Jinn is the story of mythological spirits, known throughout much of the Muslim world.
In western countries the Jinn are known as Genies and these creatures have been given some darker colouring in this film and in another called Red Sands. If you like mythology from other cultures, then you will likely like this trailer for Jinn below.
The synopsis for Jinn:
"Man made of Clay. Angels made of Light. And a Third...made of Fire.
From the beginning, stories of angels and men have captured our imaginations and have been etched into our history crossing all boundaries of culture, religion, and time. These two races have dominated the landscape of modern mythology for countless centuries,...

Check out the teaser trailer for Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad’s “Jinn”, which premiered on Halloween night, though I’m sure you were probably too busy watching “The Walking Dead” premiere to realize that. It stars Ray Park, Serena Swan, and William Atherton. It looks alright, though kinda hard to tell for sure given the overwhelming darkness. From the beginning, stories of angels and men have captured our imaginations and have been etched into our history crossing all boundaries of culture, religion, and time. These two races have dominated the landscape of modern mythology for countless centuries, almost washing away the evidence that a third ever existed. This third race, born of smokeless fire, was called the jinn. Similar to humans in many ways, the jinn lived invisibly among us and only under dire or unusual circumstances were our paths ever meant to cross. You can keep track of the film at its official site.

It seems we've been following Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad's Jinn for a while now and i'm kinda ready for it to be done and ready to watch! this newest image is kinda cool meaning that they don't follows the "sand" story everyone is used to with these tales.
The films stars Dominic Rains, Ray Park, William Atherton, Faran Tahir and Serinda Swan and follows a more accurate tale of the Jinn.
Plot:
In the Beginning, Three were Created...
Man made of Clay.
Angels made of Light.
And a Third...made of Fire.
From the beginning, stories of angels and men have captured our imaginations and have been etched into our history crossing all boundaries of culture, religion, and time. These two races have dominated the landscape of modern mythology for countless centuries, almost washing away the evidence that a third ever existed. This third race, born of smokeless fire, was called the jinn.
