After being singled out for working with Alok Nath in De De Pyaar De, actor Ajay Devgn says replacing the disgraced actor would have been a monetary blow to the makers of the film. "When the #MeToo movement happened, I along with many of my film industry colleagues categorically expressed that I respect every single woman at the workplace and I would not stand for any unfairness or atrocity against them. Nothing about my stand has changed," Ajay said in an official statement.?"I reiterate I am extremely sensitive to the #MeToo movement. But when circumstances are beyond me, I don't see why an attempt is being made to 'single' me out as being insensitive. This is untrue," he said.
The statement has come after he was criticised by actress Tanushree Dutta and writer Vinta Nanda who alleged that Alok raped her. Tanushree called him "morally bankrupt and?spineless hypocrite...

Tanushree Dutta has slammed actor-producer Ajay Devgn for continuing to work with rape accused Alok Nath in the forthcoming film "De De Pyaar De". The actress called him morally bankrupt and a spineless hypocrite.
"Tinsel town is full of liars, show-offs and spineless hypocrites. And it seems by a large public consensus that the sign post is pointing currently at Ajay Devgn," Tanushree, who had sparked India's #MeToo movement, said in a statement.
"During the #MeToo movement in India, the actor had tweeted and sworn never to work with those accused and now in a surprising and convenient turn of events is working with rape and harrasment accused Alok Nath and supporting him to make a comeback to Bollywood," she added.?
Tanushree said it was possible for the "De De Pyaar De" team to re-shoot Alok's scenes once the allegations against him were made public by writer-director Vinta Nanda.

The #MeToo movement arrived late in India. But it is a juggernaut that is here to stay, and is having a measurable effect on production.
Aamir Khan Productions is to withdraw from a film where one of the filmmakers is accused of harassment in a 2014 case that is currently sub-judice. “This is an opportunity for the film industry to introspect and take concrete steps towards change,” actor/producer Aamir Khan and producer Kiran Rao tweeted in a joint statement. “For far too long women have borne the brunt of sexual exploitation. It has to stop.”
The movement kicked off with actress Tanushree Dutta accusing veteran actor Nana Patekar of harassment on the sets of “Horn ‘Ok’ Pleasss” in 2008, an allegation she made then and again last week. This was followed by harassment allegations against Phantom Films founding partner Vikas Bahl by an employee. That led to the dissolution of the company.

Rahul Bose
Rahul Bose talks to Udita Jhunjhunwala about last week?s release Kucch Luv Jaisaa and why kissing a man in I Am was not so difficult.
Rahul Bose is waiting to board a flight from Chennai to Mumbai on Saturday morning when I speak to him on the phone. He has attended the Ipl match, which his team Mumbai Indians lost, and he has had an exciting meeting with a leading actor-filmmaker in Chennai. ?I just don?t want you to write about that project right now,? he says cautiously.
So instead we speak of his latest release Kucch Luv Jaisaa in which he plays a criminal called Raghav and other forthcoming work.
How was it working with a first-time woman director on Kucch Luv Jaisaa?
Barnali Ray Shukla is not the first debutante woman filmmaker I have worked with. I also worked with Vinta Nanda on her first film (White Noise). It?...
