A producer on one of the year’s most anticipated games, Mortal Kombat X, has left Twitter because trolls peppered him with a number of disgusting messages, threatening his wife and young daughter with sexual violence.
Shaun Himmerick used his account on a regular basis to chat with fans, but those interactions took a dark turn after “random” abuse turned into something more personal.

He followed that post up with an explanation as to why he was taking a step back from tweeting:
Fans asking for characters or hints or whatever, that is passion and love for Mortal Kombat and I also have that. No problem. I used to be thick skinned enough for the random personal attacks. I’m a big boy I can handle it. I’ve been in my share of fights. However, I cannot deal with the threats of violence to my wife and now young daughter.

A new video game trailer for Mortal Kombat X has released this morning, revealing that the villainous sorceror Quan Chi is returning to the roster of fighters on the new game, and he looks just as mean as ever. Come inside to check the new trailer showing off some of his moves.

NetherRealm Studios has discussed developing for the PSP2. The Mortal Kombat studio spoke about porting the fighting reboot to 3Ds and PSP, and said that it has already gone hands-on with Sony's latest handheld. "We’re not launching day one on all consoles like that. We are looking at them. We have a PSP2 in the house and we’re looking at the engine, like what can it support," executive producer Shaun Himmerick told IndustryGamers. (more)...

Despite rumors and speculation that Sony would show off a PSP 2 at E3 this year, nothing materialized, forcing guesses about how how they might compete with the iPad and iPhone into the future. Well, at least one studio claims to have one. When asked if the new "Mortal Kombat" reboot would launch on portable platforms, one of the studio's higher-ups gave an interesting answer.
"We're not launching day one on all consoles like that. We are looking at them; we have a PSP 2 in the house and we're looking at the engine, like what can it support," Netherrealm Studios executive producer Shaun Himmerick told Industry Gamers. "Always a big thing for us is the performance."
So what is Sony's officially non-existent device like? Well, he talked about that, too.
