From horror veteran Wes Craven (Scream 4, A Nightmare on Elm Street) comes " My Soul To Take " on DVD and Blu-Ray on Feb. 8, 2011.
The film starring Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Emily Meade, Nick Lashaway, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps, Paulina Olszyinski and Raúl Esparza will include such extras will include a commentary with director Wes Craven and cast members Max Thieriot, John Magaro and Emily Meade; deleted and extended scenes; an alternate opening; and two alternate endings.
Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Hills Have Eyes, Scream series) brings audiences closer to terror in Rogue’s My Soul to Take. In the sleepy town of Riverton, Massachusetts, legend tells of the Riverton Ripper, a serial killer with multiple personalities who swore he would return to murder the seven children born the very night he died.
Why? Legend has it that this man had seven personalities…and only one was a killer.

Wes Craven's poorly received My Soul to Take will move to DVD and Blu-Ray shelves February 8th; pre-orders are available December 21st. This film was made for $15 million, but has only made $14 million of this back through theatre sales (IMDb). Home entertainment sales will be much less than $14 million and in Hollywood, not making back double your investment is considered a failure. Hopefully Craven's Scream 4 will be a better, stronger showing.
Also, the DVD and/or Blu-Ray will offer two alternate endings, Pocket Blu, and Bd Live. More details on the release, including the trailer, are below.
The film's synopsis:

My Soul to Take
Directed by: Wes Craven
Cast: Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Denzel Whitaker, Emily Meade
Running Time: 1 hr 47 mins
Rating: R
Release Date: October 8, 2010
Plot: A serial killer is thought to have died 16 years ago, and now seven kids who celebrate their 16th birthday on that very day are worried he’s come back to life.
Who’S It For? Do you like train wrecks? And no, not the violent kind that scare the hell out of you. Wes Craven directed and wrote this film. Realizing that is the biggest scare My Soul to Take offers.
Overall
In the town of Riverton everyone knows everyone. There’s the weird kid Bug (Thieriot), the angst ridden sidekick Alex (John Magaro), the blind kid Jerome (Whitaker), the jock Brandon (Nick Lashaway) and the “insanely mean for almost no reason” Fang (Emily Meade). Sure, there’s a handful of...

We really have had it all wrong about schizophrenia. Wes Craven has revealed within My Soul to Take a brand new working theory of schizophrenia that is bound to turn stupid old science on its head. It's not about misfiring neurons, chemical imbalances, childhood trauma, or anything silly like that; schizophrenics are simply people who have become jam packed with extra human souls. Most people just have one soul, and schizophrenics can have two, three, or even seven souls. The world is made clear. Take that, science!

Before heading into this movie, I couldn't help but gleefully muse, "I wonder if Wes Craven can still bring it." Yeah, I grew up in the 1980s, so my general appreciation of Craven's work is more nostalgic than genuine. Beyond the Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream franchises, this guy hasn't done much to deserve a reputation as one of the so-called "masters of horror." Now, after the first few acts of his latest cinematic effort, My Soul to Take 3D, I've begun speculate whether Wes Craven ever truly brought it. Sure, there've been a few genuine flashes of inspiration throughout the man's enviably enduring career, but the actual execution of Craven's ideas have generally been an altogether different matter than their conception would allow one to believe. Just look at Freddy Krueger (the original), who has always been scarier as a freestanding entity than within any of the Elm...

'My Soul To Take' movie delivered tons of twists, horror & suspense. Rogue Pictures released their new horror/thriller flick into theaters this weekend. I checked it out yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining it was. The top critics got shut out from pre-screening the movie,so I wasn't sure what to expect. The movie stars: Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Emily Meade, Nick Lashaway, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps, Paulina Olszyinski, and Raul Esparza. "My Soul To Take" movie revolved around character Bug (Max Thieriot). He was a part of a group of 7 kids who were born on the same day that a serial killer died. It was said that his soul was supposed to enter into one of those seven kids after he died, and that he would kill all of those kids one by one. As the movie went along, the murdering began, but the killer...

Top movie critic gave new 'My Soul To Take' movie negative reviews. Rogue Pictures released their new action/thriller flick "My Soul To Take" into theaters today, and all the top critics were shut out from pre-screening it. However, we were able to get one from Frank Scheck over at the Hollywood Reporter, and he didn't really have to many good things to say about it. The movie stars: Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Emily Meade, Nick Lashaway, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps, Paulina Olszyinski, and Raul Esparza. Frank Scheck at the Hollywood Reporter said, Unfortunately, neither the Riverton Ripper nor his faceless successor is likely to compete with Freddy Krueger in iconic horror-movie villain terms, and the overall proceedings lack the wit and style that marked the best of the "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Scream" series.

Title: My Soul to Take Directed By: Wes Craven Starring: Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Denzel Whitaker, Zena Grey, Nick Lashaway, Paulina Olszynski, Jeremy Chu, Emily Meade, Raul Esparza, Jessica Hecht Nobody’s perfect, but that doesn’t make it any easier to see a subpar movie from a filmmaker you revere. Late last night we posted the first official trailer for Wes Craven’s My Soul to Take. Now, courtesy of IMPAwards, we have a new poster for your viewing pleasure.
My Soul to Take was both written and directed by Wes Craven, and stars Frank Grillo, John Magaro, Nick Lashaway, Emily Meade, Max Thieriot, Paulina Olszyinski, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps, Trevor St. John, Zena Grey and Raul Esparza.
Synopsis: A serial killer returns to his hometown to stalk seven children who share the same birthday as the date he was allegedly put to rest.
While it may not be wholly original, the trailer suggests it does have a solid narrative, sprinkled with a few scares, so it should be enough to tide Craven fans over till Scream 4 hits our screens in Spring 2011.
Check out the poster below:
My Soul to Take will hit Us cinemas on October 8.

Wes Craven may be busy working on "Scream 4," but the horror man has a new film coming out first: "My Soul to Take," which will open in 3D Oct. 8, 2010. The first trailer is online, so check it out below...
The film, which was previously titled "25/8," follows a serial killer returning to his hometown to stalk seven children who share the same birthday as the date he was allegedly put to rest. Zzzzzzzzzzzz...
Max Thieriot, Denzel Whitaker, Zena Grey, Nick Lashaway and Frank Grillo star in "My Soul to Take." Too bad this mediocre trailer reveals a tad too much. Oh yeah, I also doubt the 3D is really necessary here.

May 8, 2010The Last Song: One for the romantics
Rating: 3 out of 5*
Starring: Miley Cyrus, Greg Kinnear, Bobby Coleman, Liam Hemsworth, Hallock Beals, Kelly Preston, Nick Lashaway, Carly Chaikin, Kate Vernon, Melissa Ordway, Nick Searcy
Director: Julie Anne Robinson
Novelist Sparks turns screenwriter with this film, which combines his usual themes (beaches, grieving teens, cancer) as a vehicle for Miley Cyrus to put her childhood career behind her. It’s exactly what we expect, but it’s also fairly watchable.
The summer after her high school graduation, rebellious Ronnie.

This is the Pure Movies review of The Last Song (directed by Julie Anne Robinson, starring Miley Cyrus, Greg Kinnear, Bobby Coleman, Liam Hemsworth, Hallock Beals, Kelly Preston, Nick Lashaway and Carly Chaikin, written by Nicholas Sparks). Nicholas Sparks writes weepy to a formulaic tee. His popular tear-jerking novels, including The Notebook, Walk to Remember, and recently adapted Dear John, have proved profitable on the big screen. They invite the scores of die-hard fans equipped with copious tissues to sob over the latest manifestation of Sparks' star crossed lovers. The author denies he is a romance-writer, comparing himself to Hemingway rather than Mills and Boon. But having completed the screenplay for The Last Song before finishing the novel itself, he must be aware, as are the studios pouring money into adapting his films, of the reason behind his audience pulling power.

Wes Craven’s new horror flick, My Soul to Take, is getting released on Halloween. Nothing much special about that, is there? Well, actually, it’s the horror maestro’s first original script since New Nightmare back in the mid-1990s. The plot centres on a serial killer returning to murder the kids who were all dragged out of their mothers vaginas on the night of the killer’s death. Hmm…doesn’t that remind you of another certain Wes Craven movie? The director has called the movie’s baddie:
“A figure who sleeps under bridges and deep in the woods and eats bark”.
No, he’s not describing what Robert Englund gets up to these days since he was jettisoned from playing Freddie in the Nigtmare On Elm Street remake. He’s gone for a cast of unknowns to: Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Nick Lashaway and Emily Meade. So...

Wes Craven's My Soul to Take, previously known as 25/8 (because, like, you'll be scared 25 hours a day, eight days a week) has been getting a bit overshadowed in the news stakes with all the talk of Scream 4. But his first film as a director and writer since Wes Craven's New Nightmare in 1994 has finally been given a release date. Surprise surprise, it'll be out, in the Us at least, on October 29th.The story involves a serial killer, supposedly killed sixteen years ago, returning to murder the kids born on the night of his apparent death. Does that sound a little bit like something else to you? Craven described his new monster last year as "a figure who sleeps under bridges and deep in the woods and eats bark". The film stars relative unknowns Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Paulina Olszynski, Nick Lashaway and Emily Meade. Rogue Pictures are...
