Calabi-Yau no Sukima (“The Calabi-Yau Gap”), a new theatrical anime film from the creator of Aragne: Sign of Vermillion and Feast of Amrita , has been been announced. Similar to the previous films in the series, Saku Sakamoto handles the direction, original story, screenplay, animation production, and music for the film, while other artists provide the voice acting and the sound effects. The title of the film refers to the Calabi-Yau manifold , a six-dimensional space in mathematics and theoretical physics. According to producer Osamu Fukutani of zelicofilm, the film's distributor, Calibi-Yau no Sukima will be a short animated film. The release date for Calabi-Yau no Sukima has not yet been revealed, although a teaser visual (below) has been published for the film. Saku Sakamoto graduated from Tama Art University’s Department of Graphic Design in 2000. His short animated works such as Makafushigi (’00) and Fisherman (’02) were selected for the Hiroshima International Animation Festival and received the first place Kirin Art Award. Since then, he has received numerous awards and his work has been introduced internationally through more than 10 film festivals including the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
