In a recent interview with Febri, director Keiichi Sato shed some insights into the creative process behind the currently airing Go! Go! Loser Ranger! anime adaptation.
During the interview Keiichi revealed that he drew inspiration from the American satirical superhero series ‘The Boys‘ when it came to adapting Negi Haruba’s Go! Go! Loser Ranger! manga into an anime, as he desired to capture the dark and complex world of anti-heroes.

He highlighted the prevalence of anti-hero themes in both domestic and international media landscapes, citing The Boys as a prominent example. He noted that Go! Go! Loser Ranger! with its premise of a protagonist from the villain side challenging a justice hero with hidden darkness, resonates with the themes explored in The Boys.
This combined with the manga’s surprising plot twists, convinced Sato to infuse the tone of the series for the anime.

Ikoku Nikki (“Diary of a Strange Land”), a josei manga by Tomoko Yamashita, is being adapted into a TV anime, and the main staff, a teaser trailer, and a teaser visual have been revealed for the newly announced series. The release date for the series has not yet been revealed. Ikoku Nikki was originally serialized from June 2017 – June 2023 in Shodensha's Feel Young manga magazine, and the series was also published in 11 collected volumes in Japan. Miyuki Ooshiro directs the Ikoku Nikki TV anime at animation studio Shuka. Remember when we recently reported how the Go! Go! Loser Ranger! anime was slowly becoming a hit of the Spring 2024 anime season? Well, the series is continuing strongly and is a surprising hit of the season, with numerous fans around the world enjoying the story and the animation. The most recent episode of the anime premiered on April 28, 2024 – Episode 4 – while the fifth episode was supposed to premiere on May 5, 2024, but we can officially confirm that the episode has been delayed and will premiere a week later, on May 12, 2024.
The information has been revealed and confirmed via Twitter, which revealed that the episode was postponed due to a golf-related broadcast, which will be shown in the anime’s timeslot instead. It is a break, but a very short one, so fans of the series need not worry about it.
