During the summer of 2022 James Riordan appeared with Timothy Busfield in the world premiere of the play "Safe Home" at the Shadowlands Theater Company in upstate NY. The play was based on a series of short stories by Tom Hanks titled "Uncommon Type" and was co-authored by Hanks.
