An unknown man in his underwear walked through a live TV interview on right-wing network Newsmax, which featured the network’s anchor Rob Schmitt and conservative political commentator, Dick Morris.
On January 15, Schmitt was reporting on the likely outcome of the 2024 Iowa Republican caucus with Morris.
During this interview, the political commentator was telling Schmitt what a win at this caucus could mean for GOP candidates like Nikki Haley and Donald Trump.
“Well, I think Trump is going to score a huge victory,” he stated. “I think the media is going to try to downplay it because, as you correctly said, they’re basically supporting Nikki Haley.”
When Morris was nearly halfway done with this statement, the large unknown man wearing nothing but a white tank top and black boxer shorts walked into the room in which Morris was doing his live shot.
The interview and Morris continued on without commenting on the odd sight.

The conservative news streaming service is off to the races, showing off an impressive subscriber total for its first 30 days.
It’s hard to underestimate the importance of live news, even as cord-cutting continues to impact the TV-watching audience. One survey from September found that all age groups used their broadcast TV channels to watch news more than any other type of programming.
The conservative news streaming service Newsmax+ launched at the beginning of November. At the end of that month, the service had already accrued 150,000 subscribers. The figure is impressive for a streamer with a niche audience and a narrow selection of content. How is Newsmax+ Doing?

The hard-right news channel now has its own subscription streaming platform, with prices starting at $4.99 per month.
The removal of Newsmax from Directv earlier this year drew sharp protests from ultra-conservative viewers of the channel, who were quick to cry censorship at its withdrawal. Directv insisted there was no political motivation behind the removal, and eventually a new carriage deal brought the channel back to airwaves for Directv customers.
Carriage disputes are only becoming more common as cable and satellite lose customers, however. To help allay audience anxiety that the channel may be pulled from other providers in the future, Newsmax has launched its own direct-to-consumer (Dtc) service, imaginatively named Newsmax+, which is available now.

Less than two weeks after the siege of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, Fox News dismissed its political editor, Chris Stirewalt, in what the network said was a restructuring, and he said was a firing.
As many media reporters and commentators noted, Stirewalt had defended the network’s correct call of Arizona for Joe Biden on Election Night, the first sign that Donald Trump would lose the race. What resulted was a backlash from Trump and his supporters, not just “insane rage” directed at the network, but against Stirewalt himself. One Republican senator, Kevin Cramer, accused him of a “cover-up,” as if Stirewalt himself had been counting votes.
His new book, Broken News: Why the Media Rage Machine Divides America and How to Fight Back, delves into his dismissal, but this is hardly a tell-all, or singularly focused expose of what’s happened to his former employer.

There aren't that many people who can sling insults and remain as likable as "Veep" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
The actress, who returns as Vice President Selina Meyer for the HBO series' second season on April 14, won an Emmy for Best Actress in a Comedy following the first season of "Veep." But Louis-Dreyfus, who spent nine years as Elaine Benes on "Seinfeld" and five years as the titular character in CBS's "The New Adventures of Old Christine," said she wasn't looking for an "asshole" character to play.
"Yeah, she's kind of an asshole," she said with a laugh. "And I think that comes to me naturally. I didn't say to myself, 'I'm going to play an asshole,' because you can't start there. That wasn't the intention. But she's extremely driven, extremely vain, narcissistic and all of that stuff gets in front of her good intentions, which are somewhere down there.

Axelrod, who was a key strategist for President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, joins NBC News and MSNBC as a senior political analyst. The announcement came Tuesday from NBC News and follows last week’s news that 2012 Republican presidential aspirant Herman Cain has joined Fox News Channel. Fox News has landed another high profile former politician -- of sorts -- hiring Herman Cain, who campaigned for the Republican party's presidential nomination in 2012, as a contributor.
The news network also recently hired former senator Scott Brown (a Republican) of Massachusetts and former congressman Dennis Kucinich (a Democrat) of Ohio.
The additions come after the network cut ties with controversial conservative voices Sarah Palin and Dick Morris, but renewed a contract with Karl Rove to remain a contributor through 2016.
Cain is expected to provide business and political analysis during daytime and primetime programming on both Fox News and Fox Business Channel.
Cain spent a decade as CEO of Godfather's Pizza and was the Gop's front-runner for the presidential nomination in polling during fall 2011. He ultimately suspended his campaign in December 2011 following allegations of sexual misconduct, which Cain vehemently denied.

While President Obama was re-elected on November 6 and Mitt Romney hurriedly composed his concession speech on the fly, a number of other winners and losers emerged from the 2012 election. Memes reigned, with Big Bird and binders full of women taking over the Twittersphere. But statisticians, pundits, Fox News and Bruce Springstein were also in the mix, as outlined in a roundup by Variety. Among Variety's election winners are Statisticians like Nate Silver and his FiveThirtyEight blog which noted continuously more favorable odds for President Obama; Fox News, which was the go-to place for dejected Republicans (although Fox is also included in the Losers list); and Bruce Springsteen for providing inspiration "to a contest that had little." Losers include Pundits like Rush Limbaugh and Dick Morris who got it wrong (and too much punditry all around) and Donald Trump, the "least valuable celebrity surrogate."...

Mitt Romney is probably the candidate most accused of flip-flopping in this election, so it's sort of fitting that the media circuit who spent so much time pointing out why he'd be an unfit Gop candidate now has to rally behind him.

Dick Morris started off the week on Monday by going after ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, a former colleague of his during his tenure with President Clinton, for being a "paid Democratic hitman." That comment was made on Hannity, and tonight Morris was on The O'Reilly Factor, where host Bill O'Reilly made him elaborate on his point and chastised him for claiming there was an exchange of money between Stephanopoulos and the Democratic National Committee.

A new PBS documentary reveals that Bill Clinton struggled with whether to come clean to the American public -- as well as those close to him, including cabinet members disbelieving of the allegations -- about his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
He even went so far as to reach out to pollster Dick Morris to test the waters on whether he should be honest about his relationship with Lewinsky. Of course, this was after he had spouted the whole "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" spiel.
"[Clinton] said, 'Ever since I got here to the White House I've had to shut my body down -- sexually, I mean -- but I screwed up with this girl. I didn't do what they said I did, but I may have done so much that I can't prove my innocence,'" Morris says in the documentary "Clinton.

As today is considered a holiday for most workplaces, it has been a rather slow news day-- which hasn't proved very good for commentary on Rep. Ron Paul. As the frontrunner, he got much of the criticism today, with tonight's Hannity providing Dick Morris calling Rep. Paul the most "liberal" of all the Republican candidates, universally dismissed as a "nut."...

We sensing a trend today? This evening on Fox News, Sean Hannity echoed (and added to) a thread begun by Chris Wallace and supplemented by Bill O'Reilly and guest Dick Morris: Electing Ron Paul as the Gop candidate will result in Barack Obama's re-election. Hannity brought on Bill Bennett, radio host and former director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, to discuss what the future may hold for Ron Paul.

Add former Clinton adviser Dick Morris to the list of people who think that the Republican nomination is won on Fox News. Morris, a Fox regular, appeared on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning to discuss the rise of Newt Gingrich in the race for the Gop nomination. He pointed to a certain phenomenon he has noticed – “You don’t win Iowa in Iowa. You win it on this couch. You win it on Fox News. You win it in the debates,” Morris said. Here's the video (post continues after): Morris is far from the first person...

Fox News commentator Dick Morris appeared on Fox and Friends Wednesday and opined that Newt Gingrich didn't have to go to Iowa to actually win the Iowa caucus, all he needed was to be on television, and on one channel in particular. "With only one office in Iowa, he's running away with the state!" co-host Brian Kilmeade exclaimed. "It's almost unheard of!"...

Earlier this morning, we mentioned that, during his appearance on last night's Hannity, guest Dick Morris likened Barack Obama's "Declaring Success" in Libya to George W. Bush's "Mission Accomplished" moment regarding our efforts in Iraq. It was a very brief statement, but one that, this morning, the team at Fox & Friends seized upon and spun into a greater narrative.

On Monday night's Hannity, host Sean Hannity brought political commentator Dick Morris onto the show to discuss what the future night hold for revolution-rocked Libya... and how it reflects on President Barack Obama and his administration. After referring to Obama's speech on Libya, Morris placed blame for the "Arab Spring" and the recent burst of violence across Israel and into Egypt on "Barack Obama's regime." Then, talk turned to Libya specifically.

On Monday night's Hannity show, Fox News contributor Dick Morris unwittingly clarified the current debt ceiling debate between a cuts-only approach that continues the free ride for the wealthy, and a balanced approach that entails shared sacrifice. Morris accused the President of "fear tactics" surrounding a possible default, then in the same breath explained that eliminating a mortgage interest deduction for the wealthiest 2% would crater the mansion-building industry, and cost carpenters and bricklayers their jobs.

Bill O'Reilly has long considered Rep. Michele Bachmann a respectable member of Congress, but with her announcement that she is officially jumping into the 2012 Republican primary, he has vocally proclaimed that she is not cut out for the top spot. Tonight he continued to explain how he saw her as a vice president and not President and how she fared against the rest of the field with Dick Morris.

Finally, after a ghastly 24 hours, one brave soul has stepped up to defend the universally ridiculed debacle that is the Newt Gingrich presidential campaign: fellow 1990s staple Dick Morris. Unlike anyone else that has commented on it, Morris argued Gingrich's attack on the Rep. Paul Ryan budget would make him "very popular," with his biggest competition being the "brilliant" Rep. Michele Bachmann. And no, Bill O'Reilly wasn't buying it.

The reports are coming in from Stephen’s trip to Washington, D.C., today to stop by the Fec and file papers to formally request an advisory opinion on the formation of Colbert Super Pac. Throughout the day, the @StephenAtHome Twitter feed had regular reminders for people to join him at 4 Pm at the Fec building. Thanks to Zoner gentoo, who was present for the occasion and told us about it, we know that a crowd of about 150-175 people showed up, and sang “Happy Birthday” to him before he gave his statement. Big tip of the hat to another Zoner, Christiane, who pointed us toward this video from HuffPo posted on You Tube!
HuffPo also has a full news story covering the event which includes a summary of Stephen’s efforts so far to form his Pac. More coverage can be found at Tpm and the ABC News blog...

Here's the main thing: Rebecca Traister can write her ass off. If anyone was going to be up to the Herculean task of summarizing what went down in the 2008 elections with regard to gender, race, and class it was Traister. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, but I have already read a couple of the behind-the-scenes accounts of the election which were interesting, but ultimately forgettable. Reading Big Girls Don't Cry brought back the most infuriating moments of the year leading up to the election. This isn't the just story of the candidates; it's the story of how the 2008 campaign brought out the still-raw feelings of the women's movement. It's about how on one hand, women are more influential and powerful than we have ever been, but on the other hand, women hold only about 17% of the seats in the House and Senate.

Bill O'Reilly warned that "there's a war going on" between Fox News and The New York Times, which served as the backdrop for an interesting revelation from Dick Morris. Morris claimed he and other Fox News authors are being kicked off the Times bestseller list and reassigned to the separate, less prestigious list of "How To" books alongside cookbooks and marital aids, to which O'Reilly responded, "that's wrong."...

David Plouffe, the brains behind the president's 2008 campaign, joins a revamped White House on Monday. Daniel Stone talks to top advisers about Plouffe's cool style, occasional tantrums, and hefty to-do list.
The first time Barack Obama asked David Plouffe to work for him, Plouffe almost said no. It was December of 2006 and Obama, weighing a presidential run, had begun to imagine his inner circle.

"The most important role I need to fill is campaign manager," Obama told Plouffe in the senator's Chicago home, before offering the job. Plouffe, a seasoned, although rusty, campaign operative had a small child, and he and his wife wanted to have another soon. Plus, it seemed to Plouffe-as well as most people at the time-that the candidate was running "with little more than hope in his sails," he has since recalled. But he did it anyway.

The backlash against First Lady Michelle Obama's trip to Spain may have already seemed a bit excessive to Democrats already, given that even Bill O'Reilly has admitted that the only reason he's covering the story is because, hey, it's August. But while most of the attacks until now have been based on the optics of the trip and the First Lady directly, tonight Dick Morris extended the blame to both the Obamas, calling it a "tremendous failure."...

On Tuesday, former Clinton staffer and Fox News analyst Dick Morris was blaming the Bp oil disaster on his old boss, citing a 1995 law that gave oil companies incentives to drill far offshore.
