Paul McCartney rerecorded The Beatles’ “Let It Be” as a star-studded charity single in 1987. He collaborated with a famous producer on the cover. The producer said the former Beatle was never satisfied with his work on the song.
The Beatles‘ “Let It Be” is one of Paul McCartney’s most famous songs. He rerecorded it with the help of many major artists to help the victims of a ferry disaster. Subsequently, the cover inspired a parody by a famous band.

According to Yahoo! News, the Herald of Free Enterprise was a ferry that was supposed to travel from Zeebrugge, Belgium, to Dover, England, on March 6, 1987. No one closed the ferry’s bow doors, which caused water to flood the ship. Within 90 seconds, the Herald of Free Enterprise capsized.

With a streak of humility utterly foreign to most music documentaries, Dunstan Bruce recounts the band’s successes – and failures – as pop stars and political activists
As a Dr Martens-wearing teenager in the 90s, I loathed the anarchist indie band Chumbawamba and their chart-topping anthem Tubthumping. Well, I take it all back after watching this funny and surprisingly sweet documentary co-directed by frontman Dunstan Bruce and Sophie Robinson. It begins with Bruce, now in his late 50s, overwhelmed by feelings of powerlessness as he thinks about the future of the planet, wondering what he can do. As a film-maker he indulges in a bit of wallowing here: taking the negative voice in his head and bringing it to life, played by an actor wearing a papier-mache head, who sarkily takes the piss out of him.
But from here the film settles nicely into an enjoyable blast of pop history. Chumbawamba...

The TV presenter will sign a non-exclusive deal with the broadcaster, The Sun reports.
It is claimed Morgan will host another six episodes of his Life Stories interview series, in addition to a new factual series.
There have been 69 episodes of Piers Morgan's Life Stories spread over 11 series since 2009.
Interviewees have included the likes of celebrities Sharon Osbourne, Katie Price, Simon Cowell, Elton John and Dannii Minogue, as well as politicians John Prescott, Ann Widdecombe and former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Morgan has been tipped to return to ITV's Britain's Got Talent in 2015 as a replacement for David Walliams.
The controversial former Daily Mirror editor was axed from CNN earlier this year after a three-year stint as the replacement for Larry King, later quipping about being 'unemployed'.

Homeland star Damian Lewis broke an embarrassing record in last night's (January 27) episode of Top Gear, recording the slowest ever lap in the show's 'Star In A Reasonably Priced Car' feature. Lewis was hampered on his lap by blizzard conditions and considerable snow and ice on the show's racetrack.

Lord John Prescott is to take part in 'Celebrity Big Brother'. The 74-year-old former Deputy Prime Minister - who last week lost a bid to be voted police commissioner in Humberside - is being targeted by show bosses who think his no-nonsense style would make for perfect viewing. A source told the Daily Star newspaper: '''Celebrity Big Brother' would be the perfect platform for Lord Prescott to get his opinions across to the public on his terms. He doesn't suffer fools and that would make it 'must watch' TV.'' If he does take part, John would be the fourth political figure to compete...

Politics is my passion, and I particularly love comedy and satirical news programmes that breathe new life into current events.
One of my favorites is Saturday Night Live, the long-running comedy sketch program which airs on NBC in the U.S. President Obama, Vice President Biden and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are amongst those politicians who have been 'profiled' on the show, and the candidates of the current presidential election continue to be featured on a weekly basis, with Republican Mitt Romney perhaps facing the harshest criticism.
Romney is often portrayed as a bland politician willing to tell his audience what they literally want to hear. Continuous impressions of this nature reinforce Romney's inability to inform voters of his core beliefs, and over time, I believe this could seriously damage Romney's campaign for the presidency.
In the UK there is no parallel show to SNL, although Have I Got News For You...

The wireless internet situation has turned me into something of a nomad. I wander downtown Austin seeking one of three things: free drinks, free food, or free wifi. Obviously there's wifi all over the convention center, but it's packed most of the time so I tend to seek out slightly less crowded places to sit my ass down and write. Today, I'm writing in the Sobe Lizard Lounge enjoying some damn thing or another that has a Sobe drink in it. After this I'm hunting down food. Here's your Monday night TV:

8:00pm: "The Bachelor" on ABC. 15th season finale. Where some lucky lady will with the ultimate prizes. Not the Bachelor himself, he kinda sucks, I mean the hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tabloid "exclusives" that she'll be able to give in the next few weeks.

Like his characters, Robert Harris has often found himself close to news in the making. As his 'Tony Blair' novel hits the cinema, he reveals why his friendship with Roman Polanski has lasted, but his affair with New Labour has not
Tony Blair is not on record as having read Robert Harris's 2007 novel The Ghost, a rip-snorting thriller about an ostentatiously groovy ex-prime minister accused of war crimes after secretly approving the transfer of British al-Qaida suspects to Guantánamo Bay, and the ghostwriter hired to write his memoirs. Perhaps Blair got the book out on John Prescott's library card, or happened upon a copy in Silvio Berlusconi's downstairs loo. All that really matters is that he knows of the novel's existence. It was in regard to The Ghost, after all, that he described its author as "a cheeky fuck". The 53-year-old Harris chuckles so warmly...
