Gerald Hawkins was born on 20 April 1928 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, UK. He was married to Julia Margaret Dobson and Dorothy Zoe Willacy-Barnes. He died on 26 May 2003 in Woodville, Virginia, USA.
A staff member of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory in
Cambridge, Massachusetts, he is widely known for his research in the
new field of astroarcheology. He has written ten books, including the
controversial bestseller, "Stonehenge Decoded" and "Beyond Stonehenge".
