Although Yellowstone has been widely hailed as one of the best television series to have ever been created, it has had some of its own controversial decisions as well. While some of these choices may seem meaningless to fans initially, further exploration of the storyline makes it evident almost every time that all of it was only for the better.
Yellowstone.
The decision to kill off one of the most major characters in the story right in the first episode, for instance, seemed controversial to most fans at the beginning. However, as the story progressed and fans started to come more to terms with what had happened, they understood that it was only for the best, done to make the show more moving than every other.

Walker actor Jared Padalecki and his wife Genevieve were in attendance at the launch party for The Statesman supper club and cocktail lounge on Wednesday (January 17) in Austin, Texas.
The menu, an eloquent manifestation of the establishment’s theme, has an array of dishes influenced by the traditional American Supper Club that evoke both nostalgia and innovation, including: cold appetizers like seafood towers, caesar salad and tuna tartare; hot appetizers including crab cake and elevated fried mozzarella; house-made pasta dishes like cacio e pepe and tagliatelle with roasted mushrooms; proteins including a chicken dish with preparation of chicken parm of the thigh and a roasted breast with chicken jus, and whole red snapper with classic sauce meuniere; and ribeyes and filets locally sourced from 44 Farms. For The Table offerings include Parker House Rolls with garlic/chili butter, Hasselback potatoes, and pimento mac and cheese, all crafted by Executive Chef Dan Kennedy.

Following the success of chaotic cowboy drama Yellowstone, co-creator Taylor Sheridan has been given an entire book of blank checks, and has cashed as many as he could manage in just five years. While his involvement in these TV projects wavers, sometimes drastically, his brand has always been on point.
With over half a dozen shows now within the House of Sheridan, let’s take a look at how each program measures up against the rest of the catalog.
7. Lawmen: Bass Reeves
The story of real life American folk legend Bass Reeves (David Oyelowo) was originally supposed to be a larger cog in the Yellowstone prequel machine, but as it continued to evolve, it became its own standalone project, which works both for and against the show. Part of the charm of the Yellowstone prequels for any Sheridan fan is getting to search for connections between the different generations of the Dutton family.

In Taylor Sheridan’s Special Ops: Lioness on Paramount+, Laysla De Oliveira shocks and awes as Cruz Manuelos, a military recruit who escapes the mean streets to go undercover in the CIA’s war against terrorism.
Here, the Ontario-born newcomer talks about how painful it was — both literally and figuratively — to kick ass in the drama that also stars Zoë Saldaña (Joe), Nicole Kidman (Kaitlyn Meade), Dave Annable (Joe’s husband Neal), Michael Kelly (Bryon Westfield) and Morgan Freeman (Edwin Mullins).
“I can finally talk about it because it’s been a little bit of torture, not being able to shout it from the rooftops,” De Olivera says in reference to how the drama dropped during the actors strike and thus prevented her from talking about the series. “It’s such a dream job.”

Observing a helicopter zip across a mountainous skyline accompanying a fleet of cowboys on horseback, running at full speed below is a jarring visual. It’s as if time and space have suddenly fused. In an instant, the past and the present meet in the middle to produce something that is at once familiar and entirely unexpected. Some 60 years removed from Western films dominating the box office, fans of the genre can now turn on their televisions weekly, diving into Taylor Sheridan’s neo-western “Yellowstone.” The series originally debuted in 2018 on the basic cable channel Paramount Network, spawning an enormous fandom and two spinoffs, “1883” and “1923,” on corporate sibling streamer Paramount+. Now, amid the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which have generated a sparse fall TV lineup, “Yellowstone” is getting a big platform boost and a new home on the Paramount-owned broadcast network, CBS.

Nicole Kidman’s CIA senior supervisor Kaitlyn Meade firmly informs Joe’s Qrf team how things are gonna be in an exclusive sneak peek from this Sunday’s episode of Paramount+’s Special Ops: Lioness.
When last we tuned into the freshman espionage drama, Kaitlyn had made a special trip to inform Joe (played by Zoe Saldana) — in person — that team members Two Cups, Tucker and Randy, when begrudgingly “lent out” to CIA case officer Kyle to handle an extraction in Van Horn, Texas, got caught on camera by Border Patrol. And said extraction, we know, wound up involving multiple casualties.

There’s little doubt that Yellowstone fans would have liked to see more of Dave Annable’s Lee Dutton. But for viewers still nursing the shock from Lee’s unexpected death in the pilot, they should be heartened to know that Taylor Sheridan compensated for Annable’s abrupt exit.
Annable now portrays the physician-spouse of Zoe Saldana in Sheridan’s most recent series, Special Ops: Lioness. Sheridan orchestrated this to balance out Annable’s short-lived role in Yellowstone, referring to it as an ‘Iou.’

Fans of Yellowstone who are still smarting over the surprise death of Lee Dutton in the pilot episode of the Paramount Network drama should be pleased to see that Taylor Sheridan made up for killing off Dave Annable’s character. Created by playwright Jon Robin Baitz, Brothers & Sisters followed the California-based Walker family through romance, parenthood, infidelity, war, addiction, divorce, and death, with Sally Field winning an Emmy for her role as matriarch Nora Walker. The drama series aired five seasons before ABC canceled it in 2011. “I miss that show,” Annable, who played veteran Justin Walker on the show, told People in a new interview. “We were canceled before we knew we were going to be, so we didn’t get to say goodbye.” Richard Cartwright/ABC/Courtesy: Everett Collection Annable, who has gone onto roles in Yellowstone and now Special Ops: Lioness, called Brothers & Sisters a “dream job.” “I was 25 when I started that show, and...

There’s a moment late in Barbie when a character lays out all the contradictory demands placed on women: to be strong but not too strong, pretty but not too vain, ambitious but never aggressive, and on and on and on. It’s an inconceivable standard for anyone to meet, even a perky toy doll, and the film’s conclusion is that the only way to live with them is by letting go of the pressure to try.
But the thing about cultural scripts is that they’re damnably hard to shake. There are always going to be people trying to thread that needle, no matter how clearly impossible it is. And so we get stuff like Paramount+’s Special Ops: Lioness, a series that tries so hard to meet some broadly palatable ideal that it largely forgets to do anything interesting.

Now that Taylor Sheridan has won the TV Western revival with “Yellowstone” and its universe of prequels, he’s pivoting to the Middle East. “Special Ops: Lioness” is a female-driven contemporary espionage thriller where the white hats are CIA special forces, and the black hats are Middle Eastern terrorists. Helicopters and heavy artillery have replaced horses and shotguns.
Setting aside Sheridan’s recent inexplicable Emmy nomination snubs, the multi-hyphenate can tell an engrossing story that entwines flat-out action and interpersonal drama. Here, as showrunner and sole writer, he’s created an eight-part series that recalls movies like Kathryn Bigelow’s breathless yet intimate “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Hurt Locker.” We’ve got the fog of war, and the way that warps reality when the warrior returns stateside.
At its center is the athletic beauty Zoe Saldaña. She plays Joe, a kickass CIA special ops team leader accustomed to, if not entirely comfortable with,...

Paramount Plus unveiled an official trailer for the action thriller undercover agent series called Special Ops: Lioness, originally known as just Lioness. A young Marine is recruited by the CIA to befriend the daughter of a terrorist group in order to bring down the organization from within. Inspired by an actual US Military program, this is yet another series created by the gritty crime writer Taylor Sheridan, known for the "Yellowstone" series & spin-offs, as well as Sicario, Hell or High Water, Wind River, and many others. It's not directed by Sheridan, but it is written by him and produced. The series stars Zoe Saldaña as Joe, Laysla De Oliveria, Michael Kelly, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, Lamonica Garrett, with Morgan Freeman, and Nicole Kidman. After the first teaser, I wasn't so sure about this, but all the new footage in here looks damn good.
