Recently, Nick Kyrgios made an interesting statement that got many former tennis players, and tennis coaches talking.
Currently absent from the Atp Tour, the Australian has spent some time doing media duties, talking to multiple publications and appearing on numerous podcasts while recovering from an injury.
On one of those appearances, Kyrgios said that Novak Djokovic would destroy the likes of Pete Sampras, claiming that many former tennis greats would struggle in this era.
However, many quickly started discussing whether Kyrgios' comments were fair since eras are difficult to compare, and one of the former players who jumped in was Boris Becker, who immediately called out the Australian's "credibility."
But he wasn't the only one, as Serena Williams' former coach and former doubles world no. 1, Rennae Stubbs, also commented on the matter, supporting Becker's claims about eras being incomparable.
"Well said Boris, sports evolve. Tennis players get faster, stronger,...

Former Atp World No. 2 Tommy Haas believes the best players in the current era have greater longevity than in yesteryears.
Haas was quoted in Puntodebreak where he shared his thoughts on how 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic continues to stay grounded and motivated to perform even at 36. Haas made a fascinating reference in regard to this, saying Djokovic's hunger is similar to a teenager.
In past interviews, and most recently at the US Open where Djokovic won his fourth title in September, he dismissed talks of retirement now that he's conquered almost every imaginable streak, and is statistically the greatest tennis player of all time.
Djokovic is aware he is at the twilight of his playing career but sees no reason why he should stop when the desire to compete at the highest level is still there and he is still a contender in every tournament he plays. Case...

The Wimbledon Invitational event is currently taking place as some legends of the game are battling it out on the court, and in one match fans could see ball boys take part as well.
The Wimbledon Legends event is a very chill and laid-back tennis event for former players to remind themselves of their glory days. It happens every year, and some of those matches are good watches due to players opting to entertain the crowd more as part of the competition.
Some of the ways they do that is by giving the ball boys a chance to play some tennis and that's what happened in the match between Tommy Haas and Mark Philippoussis, and Romain Grosjean and Radek Stepanek. It was early in the second set when the Australian and German opted to give their racquet to two ball boys hoping to rest up a bit after playing great tennis in the first set.

Alexander Bublik is facing a rather odd prospect of potentially losing in the first round of Wimbledon , that is if the Halle Open curse continues.
Bublik is a very polarizing tennis player. An undeniable talent whose best tennis is really good but whose motivation and more importantly focus can be all over the place. The top-ranked player from Kazakhstan hasn't had a very good year so far with multiple early exits.
It's left him very frustrated more than once but the tables have turned once he returned to grass. It's by far his favourite surface and it's been reflected in the results as well. His only loss this year on the surface came against Sinner at the Libema Open recently but he put together a sensational run in Halle to advance to the final of the Atp 500 event.

Former World No. 2, Tommy Haas, revealed that according to him Patrick Mouratoglou resembles legendary Nick Bollettieri in some ways.
In the dynamic realm of tennis coaching, legends like Nick Bollettieri have shaped the game, fostering champions, revolutionizing techniques, and creating enduring legacies. Today, a new wave of luminaries, with Patrick Mouratoglou at the helm, is reshaping the landscape.
When thinking of iconic figures in tennis coaching, Nick Bollettieri's name unequivocally stands out. He was an architect of the game, as set up the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy (Nbta) in Bradenton, Florida.
His contributions extended beyond honing individual players' skills, as he established a novel blueprint for what a tennis academy should encapsulate, incorporating mental, physical, and strategic aspects of tennis into his teaching methodology.
This meticulous focus on developing well-rounded athletes has had an enduring impact on the coaching landscape, inspiring a new generation of tennis mentors. Of them, Patrick Mouratoglou,...

Alexander Zverev has a pretty big month coming up and former player Tommy Haas urged him to flip the switch ahead of it.
Zverev played some of the best tennis he played last year on clay and the upcoming month will see him defend a lot of the points he earned last year. If he doesn't play well, and he hasn't played that well so far, Zverev might see himself drop even more in the Atp Ranking which would only complicate things.
His compatriot and former player Tommy Haas urged him to flip the switch because if he doesn't he will find himself in a situation where he will need to take on big players early as he tries to rebuild his points total.
Struggles of players like Thiem and Murray over the years have shown that it can be a very draining and long process, and even Zverev could...

It seems that World no. 1 Novak Djokovic will not be participating in the 2023 Miami Open after he wasn't able to get an exemption.
Despite tremendous efforts from both the tournament organizers and the local government, Djokovic was unable to secure an exemption to compete in the prestigious event which is part of a Sunshine Double with Indian Wells, from which he also had to pull out.
In a talk with the Tennis Channel, Miami Open tournament director James Blake announced the unfortunate news that Novak Djokovic won't compete and confirmed that they 'exhausted all the options'.
“Obviously, we’re one of the premier tournaments in the world, we’d like to have the best players that can play. We did all that we could. We tried to talk to the government, but that’s out of our hands."

Twenty-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has been mesmerizing fans with his breathtaking shots on the tennis courts ever since he turned professional in 1998. Now the Swiss legend has left his fans speechless with a rendition of a Beatles' classic.
Federer sang The Beatles classic "With A Little Help From My Friends" as part of a commercial for Sunrise, a Swiss telecommunications provider based in Zurich.
This is was not the first time the 39-year-old had recorded a song. According to the Atp Tour website, in 2017, he had joined Grigor Dimitrov and Tommy Haas to create the Backhand Boys supergroup during the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
The trio recorded a version of the 1982 Chicago hit 'Hard To Say I'm Sorry' with Haas' father-in-law, the world-renowned record producer and musician David Foster, on piano.

Despite its outward civility, Professional Tennis can be a brutal sport for the players, and the sell by date for most is around age 30, give or take a couple of years. D.E.B.S. was actually made twice. First as a short starring Tammy Lynn Michaels, and later as a feature length film with a larger budget and distribution. The latter version came out in 2004 and was just as gay — if not gayer — than the original.
