Now that the question of Jack’s whereabouts has been answered on This Is Us, it’s time to look at every clue that should have tipped us off.
It was established in Tuesday's episode that the Pearson patriarch is dead in the present day, with his ashes in the golden urn on the mantle in Kate’s home. As it turns out, the first five episodes of the NBC family drama have actually provided major hints at his fate -- and some were right under our nose.
Et has compiled a list of the clues from the first five episodes that we should have kept in mind.

For singer-songwriter Chris Arena, everything changed the night that he heard Alexi Murdoch’s “Orange Sky” on The O.C. In that moment, he decided to walk away from a life filled with touring and paying bars to perform so that he could get a chance to really be heard. Realizing what great television music moments could be, he decided to focus on cinematic music.
“[The O.C.] broke so many good acts,” Arena said. “It almost set the tone for, I feel like, the Grey’s Anatomys and the Dawson’s Creeks; those shows really paved the way for this whole movement of...

It has been a decade since Ryan Atwood (Benjamin McKenzie) had his first entree into life in "The O.C.," bringing fans of teen soap along for a look at life inside the mansions of Newport Beach. The Fox drama, which premiered on August 5, 2003, was filled with envelope-pushing sexual encounters, Juicy Couture jumpsuits, Death Cab for Cutie, trips to T.J. and much, much more.
Josh Schwartz was a day shy of 27 when "The O.C." first hit the airwaves, which made him the youngest TV creator ever and probably, one of the only ones who would admit to penning a highly-acclaimed pilot in his boxer shorts.
From the real story behind Mischa Barton's departure to the Cohens' original name, and the missed coupling opportunities to the star who didn't even make it onto "The O.C.'s" first poster, read on to see what Schwartz revealed to The Huffington Post while...

If you have this strange urge to listen to Death Cab and read comic books today, there's a reason: 10 years ago, on Aug. 5, 2003, "The O.C." premiered on Fox.
Seminal hardly begins to describe the impact Josh Schwartz's coming-of-age series had on popular culture. The first season exploded through the zeitgeist like a comet, helping user in the age of geek rule while also turning indie rock acts like Rooney, The Killers and the aforementioned Death Cab for Cutie into required listening for emo kids of all ages.
"The first six or seven episodes was really literally stuff off of my iPod," Schwartz told HitFix writer Alan Sepinwall in a new interview. "Some of the bands that we reached out to were these indie rock bands, and that was all we could afford. As many iTunes lovers and Youtube fanatics understand, music (old and new) has become a huge factor on hit television shows and both the show and artists featured benefit from the collaboration. Ever YouTube a certain scene from your favorite show for hours on end? Did it have a catchy song that you immediately downloaded? Yes, the odds are that you have.
Television show soundtracks are an obsession over here and the music played make that specific scene that much more memorable. Remember "Hide and Seek" when Marissa Cooper killed Ryan's brother Trey? What about "Paint the Silence" by Dice when Marissa kissed Ryan on the ferris wheel? Thought so. The O.C. has had so many hits like Phantom Planet's "California" and even the cover of "Forever Young" by Youth Group, but here's to 10 more that made just as much of an impact.

Chuck vs. the Music: Five Seasons of Great Tracks
The final episode of Chuck airs this Friday and this is an impressive achievement considering how close it came to cancellation during this period. Chuck clearly has a rabid fan base that has shown their devotion which led to this 5-year run. The Subway campaign was a good way to prove that despite low audience figures this show was worth keeping on the air and I definitely bought a sandwich or two.
For me though it would be far easier to measure my love for this show by the amount of tracks on iTunes that I have purchased after hearing them first on Chuck and I’m sure I’m not the only one. For some it is the pop culture references that made Chuck the charming show it is, for others it is the characters and while these two factors are incredibly important,...

This week Chuck was jam packed with a new expansion to the Volkoff empire, action, emotional scenes and the best use of Star Wars toys (I of course mean collectibles) to grace our screens since The Adam and Joe Show.
Casey and Morgan both felt like spare parts with Chuck and Sarah, Casey on the work side and Morgan at home. It is a testament to how well that Chuck and Sarah work as a team that have induced these feelings in their friends. Of course they still need Casey and Morgan, but for Morgan it probably is about time that he flies the coop. Casey is often the third man in the missions, especially now that Chuck can control his use of the Intersect, though this episode reinforced that he has much needed skills out in the field beyond his excellent bar tending skills. If you hate people who say "I told you so," you may want to skip this part of our "Gossip Girl" recap 'cause we're about to do it. Remember that time we proclaimed Dan and Blair this show's Seth and Summer (from "The O.C.," duh)? Well, we told you so. But we'll save the gloating for a bit later.
In the Feb. 14 episode, "It-Girl Happened One Night," Valentine's Day created all sorts of drama for our Upper East Siders. Serena and Ben tried to avoid it, Chuck and Raina tried to enjoy it, Dan tried to stalk Blair, Blair tried to stalk Raina and Chuck, Eric tried his hand at helping the less fortunate and Nate tried not to get in anyone's way. Naturally, everyone's plan kind of blew up in their face. We think Blair now owes us ten dollars.
We definitely enjoyed this "Gg" outing much more than last week's "Panic Roommate.

Has there ever been a more perfect match for a movie soundtrack than Daft Punk and "Tron: Legacy"? Certainly there are few collaborative efforts that have received as much fan excitement as this one. Daft Punk is going to be involved in a good portion of the "Tron: Legacy" promotional efforts as the days tick down until the film's December 17 release, and that explains why the latest trailer is really a music video for one of the 24 songs on the "Tron: Legacy" soundtrack, "Derezzed."
The only new scene in the trailer is a shot of the Daft Punk duo, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, in their cameo as disc jockeys at a nightclub within the digital world. And those costumes that they're wearing aren't even costumes, but just the typical outfits that Daft Punk wear during all their performances. So, has there ever been a soundtrack and film so perfectly matched for one another?...

The final scene of the "Brothers & Sisters" finale still gives us chills. We held our breath at times, hoping our favorite characters were alive and well.
Some of the drama can be attributed to the haunting song that played as the final scenes unraveled. Many of you have been wondering what that song is. It's called "12" and it's by singer/songwriter Alexi Murdoch.
With just a few self-released albums under his belt, the Scotland-based artist provided most of the soundtrack for the film, "Away We Go," starring "The Office's" John Krasinski and "Saturday Night Live's" Maya Rudolph.
Compared to the somber, hypnotic singer/songwriter Nick Drake, Rolling Stone has named Murdoch a top 10 artist to watch.
Don't you think "12" added the perfect intensity for the final scenes of the "Brothers & Sisters" finale?

Chicago – Some franchises are best left undiscovered. “Stargate” originally began as a terrible 1994 film from B-movie maestro Roland Emmerich. It took a potentially interesting premise, and used it as an excuse for a lot of uninspired sci-fi warfare. The film, bad as it was, inexplicably spawned two long-running TV shows: “Stargate Sg-1” and “Stargate: Atlantis.”
Fearing that their franchise had become outdated, producers Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper set their sights on creating a dark, edgy show more apt to connect with modern audiences. Thus, we have “Sg-u Stargate Universe” or as I like to call it, “Stargate: The J.J. Abrams Rip-Off.” It does a great job of being like everything else on television, without ever developing a compelling vision of its own. The show is sure to disappoint longtime “Stargate” fans, while failing to interest viewers who have no idea what “dialing the ninth Chevron” means.

It's nothing new for a band to pick up the baton and write the scoring for a film. Even Danny Elfman was doing his thing with Oingo Boingo at the start of his film career. But the cultural trend seems all the more conspicuous these days with Karen O doing music for Where the Wild Things Are, Arcade Fire scoring The Box and Alexi Murdoch adding the tunes behind Burt and Verona's journey in Away We Go. So it got me thinking. What bands would I love to see cross over into the world of film, taking a shot at elevating the visuals instead of being front and center on an iPod? And, yes, I realize that some of the entries here aren't "bands," but you're smart. You know what I'm talking about. More importantly, you're probably already day-dreaming about which musicians you'd love to hear alongside some great dialog and camera work. But...

My interest in Sam Mendes' Away We Go is primarily due to the fact it is directed by Sam Mendes. If you, like me, can't get enough of the spiritual children of Nick Drake (Iron & Wine, Bon Iver, Sun Kil Moon, Alexi Murdoch, etc.), Portland, Oregon's Loch Lomand is your new favorite band. Singer/songwriter Ritchie Young started the band as a solo project in 2003, and for subsequent recordings and shows, the group has ranged from one to 10 members. The song I've had on repeat isn't new—"A Field Report" off its third album Paper These Walls from 2007.
