Composer ("The Jersey Bounce"), trombonist and arranger, educated in
public schools and in private music study. He was a trombonist for
twenty years, and wrote special material for
Ethel Waters,
Tiny Bradshaw,
Cootie Williams,
and
Lucky Millinder. Joining ASCAP in 1948, his other popular-song compositions
include "Salt Lake City Bounce", "I May Be Crazy But I'm No Fool", and
"Saturday Night", plus others.
