Spider-Man 3 swung into theaters again yesterday, but it was way back in 2007 that we first saw Peter Parker encounter the alien costume.
The web-slinger soon embraced his darker side, though it was a relatively rushed subplot and one we've since learned was shoehorned into the threequel by producer Avi Arad (who expected to sell a lot of Venom toys).
In the movie, Tobey Maguire's web-slinger was decked out in a black version of his regular red and blue suit. Venom was a little more comic-accurate, though quite a bit smaller than the version on the page. In fact, the design continues to divide the opinions of fans.
However, something tells us what you'll see in the X post below would have really left fans fuming.

"Avatar" fans spent 13 years hearing naysayers doubting the existence of "Avatar: The Way of Water," its chances of actually getting finished and released, and even the film's chances of making its money back — this last bit particularly from big doubter Mr. James Cameron, who called the film "the worst business case in movie history." But now, the film is finally out, and it is a monumental success, getting rather good reviews and making huge amounts of money — even if Cameron doesn't think it is all about the money.
What other movie has a giant blue alien wearing Oakleys? Or a whale literally ripping the arm off a whaler? This is a grand, epic blockbuster, one where James Cameron essentially remakes the end of "Titanic" and a movie where the hero and the villain take a little breather in the middle of their climactic fight to check on each other before carrying on.

Avatar: The Way Of Water's Early Organic Scuba Creature Designs Were Too Close To Alien's Facehugger
"Avatar: The Way of Water" has officially conquered the box office with no sign of stopping any time soon. The second film in the franchise sees Jake Sully (now fully Na'vi), Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and family on the run. A newly reborn Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) has had his consciousness implanted in an avatar body alongside his similarly reborn unit of spacebound colonizers, and they're hunting the family across Pandora. With Jake Sully and co. escaping to the ocean reef village of the Metkayina Na'vi clan, it's a whole new world for our protagonists and a brand new slice of the Pandora ecosystem for audiences to explore.
With a new ecosystem comes all manner of novel aquatic creatures for the Na'vi to ride and interact with. We meet the massive Pandoran whale called the tulkun, the sleek and rideable ilu, and the intimidating gliders called skimwings. One of the most unusual creatures,...

Ben Affleck's Batman in Batman v Superman could have had a completely different look! This concept art shows us a couple of the alternate designs for the Dark Knight, and it's definitely a lot more technical that what director Zack Snyder ended up using.
The art was created by Constantine Sekeris, who was brought on board to help costume designer Michael Wilkinson brought in to work on the costume designs for the film. In a previously released episode of DC All Access, Wilkinson talked about working on the suit design:
"For Batman, it was really important for Zack that we created a whole new Batman. The most important thing for our Batman is that he comes across a real hulking, big guy.' He's super-pumped up. He's going to be even bigger than Superman's silhouette. So his strength is not through armor and gadgets and things, it is that...

Take a look at the costume designs below: Spock's Volcano Suit illustrated by by Keith Christensen, Kirk and Khan's Space Jump Suits illustrated by Constantine Sekeris and Keith Christensen, Klingon costumes by Constantine Sekeris and alien designs by Neville Page, Michael Kaplan and Constantine Sekeris. I worked in the "Red Planet" development, for the opening of the film, dreaming alien vegetation, and also in the process of developing ideas for the Klingon Planet. Scott wanted to achieved a red warm, seductive atmosphere for the primitive civilization of the Red Planet. Here's a collection of early concept character art for Doctor Doom and The Thing for the original Fantastic Four movies. As you can see the designs are very unconventional, and I don't really like them at all. The movies would have been even worse had they used these designs. I mean no disrespect to the artist, Constantine Sekeris, but I just don't think they work.
At the time the concept art was made, Nicolas Cage was attached to play Doctor Doom, which would have been interesting to see. What are your thoughts on the character designs?...

In the past, visual effects guru, Steven Johnson and his Xfx studio, made a pitch to 20th Century Fox to be the special effects team for a Fantastic Four film. This was before the Tim Story film was made, and at that time Nicolas Cage was penciled in to play the role of the main villain, Doctor Victor Von Doom. Steve has now released has put these images up for sale on EBay. You can see Constantine Sekeris' designs for Dr. Doom and The Thing below, or click here to see even more concept art and a bizarre mechanical arm conceived for the ruthless ruler of Latveria. Click Images to Enlarge If you're a fan of Constantine's brilliant artwork I would suggest picking up a copy of his book, MetamorFX: Art of Constantine Sekeris. Fantastic Four (2005) was directed by Tim Story, from a screenplay written by Michael France and Mark Frost.

Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man was far from perfect, but one thing that many critics seemed to dislike was the design of The Lizard, played by Rhys Ifans.
Now, thanks to ComicBookMovie, we have a chance to see what Sam Raimi’s reptile might have looked like. The images were designed by Constantine Sekeris, who produced the concept art for Spider-Man 2 way back when Raimi was planning to have Spidey go up against Dylan Baker’s Dr. Curt Connors, Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and James Franco’s Harry Osborn.
Check them out below, and let us know which you think are better.

We love concept art here at Movies.com. It often gives us an idea about what a filmmaker is envisioning for a movie before he actually starts filming -- even if the actual characters and images look radically different in the finished product – and occasionally teases us with things that might have been. The latter is the case with today’s reveal of Constantine Sekeris’ design for the Lizard. The lithe monster (pictured below) is one of Spider-Man’s major enemies – and was his foe in Marc Webb’s 2012 reboot of the franchise. The catch here is that Sekeris’ art wasn’t for The Amazing Spider-Man – it was actually commissioned for Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. Early on in the development of that sequel, there were plans to have...

I need you to take yourself back to 2004 when Sam Raimi was still making Spider-man movies. Do you recall when it was rumored that the director wanted to use the Lizard as one of the enemies in his sequel? My initial thought when looking at the concept pieces was "creepy". Now I've moved on to...

Concept artist Constantine Sekeris has released a collection of incredibly cool pieces of concept art for several movies that he's worked on over the years. Some of the art gives us a look at what Sam Raimi's Lizard would have looked like in Spider-Man 2, and also includes a Reaper from Blade II, a werewolf from Cabin in the Woods, a couple of Hellboy creatures and more.
At one point in the production process of Spider-Man 2, Raimi wanted the Lizard as one of the villains alongside Doc Ock and Green Goblin. That idea was obviously scrapped, which is good because another villain might have ruined the perfectly good film that it was. The designs done for the character are pretty cool though!
Check out the collection of concept art below and let us know what you think of the designs!

Concept art for Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 has been posted online, revealing how The Lizard might have looked in the director’s swinging sequel – and there’s a distinct feeling of déjà vu all over again. Though Raimi eventually dumped The Lizard in favour of Doc Oc (Alfred Molina), the concept art proves he was keen on Dr Curt Connors for a while, at least. Created by artist Constantine Sekeris, the artwork shows the troubled villain in full reptilian transformation. Check the images out...

"The Amazing Spider-Man" was released last year and featured The Lizard as the main villain. But according to artist Constantine Sekeris (The Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four), director Sam Raimi was planning to also planning to use The Lizard in "Spider-Man 2." Dylan Baker was hired to play Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, and Spider-Man was set to do battle with Doctor Octopus, The Lizard and Harry Osborn. Raimi eventually decided to narrow down the villains to just Doctor Octopus, but not before The Lizard concept art was created. Sekeris has now unveiled two pieces of art, giving us an idea of what The Lizard would have looked like in "Spider-Man 2." Check everything out below. Concept Art: (click to enlarge)...

Some of you may be shocked to learn that director Sam Raimi was initially planning to have Dr. Curt Connors (Dylan Baker) turn into The Lizard for Spider-Man 2. He, along with Dock Ock, Black and Harry (James Franco) as the new Green Goblin, were all to be featured in the sequel, but screenwriter Michael Chabon suggested narrowing the field down to just Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina). So, as I was scouring through Constantine Sekeris' website today I came across concept art of a reptilian figure. I asked the artist if it was for The Amazing Spider-Man. He then emailed me back explaining that it was actually created a long time ago for Spider-Man 2 when the choice of villain(s) was still up in the air. Also below, you can find werewolf designs for Joss Whedon's Cabin In The Woods, Freddy Krueger make-up designs for 2010's A Nightmare on Elm Street,...

Another day, another schedule for the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. Next up is Day 3 - Saturday, July 14th - which is just about as chock-full of events for the horror crowd as Friday the 13th!
As always, our focus is the horror panels, but included are a few others that we think will be of interest as well. Remember that times and participants are subject to change so keep your eyes on the official Sdcc site for updates. And hopefully they'll provide a fix soon for the Sdcc smartphone app - in years past it's been extremely helpful.

At first glance, it could be considered a thankless assignment: creating the elaborate prosthetic makeup for Jackie Earle Haley, who was playing Freddy Krueger in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. After all, the character had already been played in nearly a dozen films, making him one of the most recognizable faces in horror history.
But that wasn’t about to stop makeup effects wizard Andrew Clement from Creative Character Engineering, who was able to create a look for Haley’s Freddy that was new and distinct while still paying homage to elements of the original. Clement recently took time to discuss his work on the film, which includes a couple of memorable moments that unfortunately didn’t make the final cut…
Jn: How did you originally get involved in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake?
