This is the review for Blitz on Pure Movies. The film is directed by Elliott Lester and starring Jason Statham (The Expendables, Snatch, The Transporter), David Morrissey (Centurion, Nowhere Boy), Luke Evans (Tamara Drewe, Robin Hood), Aidan Gillen (The Wire, Twelve Rounds), Paddy Considine (Submarine, The Bourne Ultimatum), Richard Riddell, Chris Wilson, Nicky Henson, Elly Fairman and Taya De La Cruz. Ah, the gritty underbelly of South-East London, where every copper is as mean as Jason Statham, every traditional pub has a man with a dog (or two), and every corner has a loony lurking in its shadows. Nathan Parker’s (Moon) adaptation of Ken Bruen’s novel, Blitz, couldn’t get more clichéd if it was a Guy Ritchie crime caper. Thankfully, there’s no cringeworthy ‘apples and pears’ Mockney slang in this – apart from the odd Statham muttering, and the ‘good’ side of the law looks as much...

The director of I Spit on Your Grave 2010, Steven R. Monroe, is back with another tale of terror and a whole new beast to unleash. Get ready for several exclusive stills from Jabberwocky.
The film, written by Raul Inglis and Rafael Jordan, also stars Richard Riddell (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus), Ian Virgo (the upcoming John Cusack film The Raven, Black Hawk Down) and Michael Worth (God’s Ear) and was shot in Bulgaria. Director Steven R. Monroe stated, "Any time you get to shoot a period piece project like Jabberwocky with sets, wardrobe, swords and creatures, you are like a kid in the candy store. Also, when you get to assemble a great diverse cast to be in that atmosphere, it adds yet another level of excitement. American World Pictures and Bron Studios have released the first images from Steven R. Monroe’s “Jabberwocky”, which just completed production and is now headed into post. Monroe is coming off the remake of “I Spit on Your Grave”, and previously directed the films “It Waits” and “House of 9″, both of which I found very decent. “Jabberwocky” looks like a swords-and-monsters fantasy movie, and co-stars Tahmoh Penikett (of “Battlestar Galactica” fame) and Kacey Barnfield (recently in “Resident Evil: Afterlife”). Jabberwocky chronicles the story of a young squire (Michael Worth) who, alongside his brother (Tahmoh Penikett), must become a warrior to save his people and the woman he loves (Kacey Barnfield) after a horrific beast is unleashed on the Kingdom. Via Yahoo, Lionsgate has recently released the international trailer for Jason Statham’s upcoming detective/serial killer thriller, Blitz…as in Blitzkrieg. The film, which is due out in 2011, follows Statham, a cop who has been dispatched “to take down a serial killer who has been targeting police officers.”
The London thriller also stars Richard Riddell, David Morrissey, Luke Evans, Paddy Considine and Aidan Gillen. It is directed by Elliot Lester and adapted by Nathan Parker (Moon) from a novel by Ken Bruen.
This movie is probably not going to be the greatest thing in the world, but it will definitely be a revenge fueled thrill ride that is sure to leave action junkies satisfied. I mean lets be honest here, it’s Jason Statham doing what he does best: Kicking ass without having to take names. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think of the trailer.
