The story follows Ben Radcliffe as Freddie Hooke, a young Royal Air Force pilot flying home across the North Sea on Christmas Eve. Lila Rawlings, head of creative: film and TV at “Roma” filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron’s U.K.-based outfit Esperanto Filmoj, is joining British independent production company Motive Pictures as an executive producer.

TVLine has learned exclusively that the actor formerly known as Robb Stark has signed on to star in Strange New Things, Amazon’s ambitious drama pilot set in outer space. Based on Michel Faber’s celebrated 2014 novel The Book Of Strange New Things, project — which is being eyed as a 10-episode event series — centers on a soulful, intense priest (Madden) who leaves his wife to travel to a distant planet/colony to preach to the native population.

Principal photography has commenced in the UK on Dark River, the third feature film from writer-director Clio Barnard (The Selfish Giant).
Cast includes Ruth Wilson (The Affair), Mark Stanley (Game Of Thrones) and Sean Bean (Game Of Thrones).
Tracy O’Riordan produces for Moonspun Films with Left Bank Pictures’ Lila Rawlings, Andy Harries and Suzanne Mackie executive producing.
The film is backed by Film4, the BFI Film Fund, Screen Yorkshire and the Wellcome Trust and was developed by Film4, the BFI and the Wellcome Trust. Protagonist Pictures is handling world sales. Shooting will take place on location in Yorkshire for five weeks.
In Dark River, following the death of her father, Alice (Ruth Wilson) returns to her home village for the first time in 15 years, to claim the tenancy to the family farm she believes is rightfully hers.
