The Tokoloshe is a South African horror flick written by Richard Kunzmann and Jerome Pikwane, the latter of whom directs. A slow-building supernatural horror film that introduces us to Busi (Petronella Tshuma), a woman who starts a job as a cleaner at a hospital in Johannesburg. She finds a young girl in the hospital who is under the belief that she is being haunted by a supernatural evil, and Busi finds herself in a battle to save the young girl from the monster as well as her own journey into facing her own demons.
I was impressed with the building tension and creepiness of this film, with the locations and performances really helping to deliver something that manages to slither under...

Must all German film roles be acted by Germans? Of course not. The idea that British-born Idris Elba can't play Mandela is daft
I was a South African tween growing up in Zimbabwe when my mother acted (or rather, appeared on screen for 45 seconds) in a made for television film starring Danny Glover as Nelson Mandela and Alfre Woodard as Winnie. In her role, my Zimbabwean mother knocks on the window and reminds the American actress about a women's meeting ending with a raised thumb and that very South African expression, "sharp".
If some arguments are to be believed, my mother, Alfre, Danny and the many other non-South Africans who acted in this film should not have taken the roles they did, and instead South African actors should have. And the film should have been made in South Africa. It was not; it was shot in Zimbabwe. South Africa was burning at the time.

When a group of tourists are stranded during an evening excursion in Africa, they're hunted by deranged poachers in Night Drive , a Film Factory production beginning later this month. Justin Head is directing from his own script. The cast includes Corine Du Toit, Brandon Auret, Leroy Gopal, Greg Melvill-Smith, Clare Marshall, Yule Masiteng, David Sherwood and Akin Omotoso. The leading man has not been cast yet. Says co-producer C A Van Aswegen: "From the outset, we have had plans for Night Drive to be released internationally. Since 'The African Safari' plays such an important role in experiencing the 'dark continent,' there is going to be an immediate connection and affiliation with audiences everywhere in the world, not only in South Africa." Night Drive...
