If you are a horror fan then you might have heard about the director duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who gave us brilliant horror films like 2022’s Scream and 2019’s Ready or Not and now they are back with their new and even campier horror film Abigail. Written by Stephen Shields and Guy Busick, the new horror film is a reimagining of the 1936 Universal Classic Monsters film Dracula’s Daughter and it follows the story of a group of kidnappers who are told to kidnap the daughter of a very powerful man and keep her in the house for 24 hours, but they quickly realize that the daughter might not be what she seems. Abigail stars Alisha Weir, Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Will Catlett, Kathryn Newton, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, Giancarlo Esposito, and Matthew Goode. So, if you loved the horror, survival, and gory elements of Abigail here are some...

Has it really been five years since the release of Ready or Not? The film, which starred Samara Weaving as a young bride who her spouse’s wealthy family hunts as part of a ritual, received positive reviews and didn’t do too badly at the box office, so where’s the sequel? Well, directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and producer Chad Villella — collectively known as Radio Silence — told Entertainment Weekly that they’ve been working on Ready or Not 2 since the release of the first movie and tease that it’s “an absolute f***ing banger.“
“It’s getting figured out,” said Gillett. “That’s what we’ll say: Ready or Not 2 is getting figured out. What we can say is that there is a script that is an absolute f—ing banger of a sequel. And however it gets made, and in whatever capacity we are helping get it made,...

Ready or Not was a deliciously twisted play on the concept of meeting the family of one’s fiancée. Samara Waving plays a young woman who is invited on the night of her wedding by her new husband’s rich, eccentric family to participate in a time-honored tradition that turns into a lethal game with everyone fighting for their survival. The horror comedy also starred Adam Brody, Mark O’Brien, Elyse Levesque, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell and was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who have gone on to direct Scream (2022) and Scream VI.
Ready or Not was written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. However, Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett are currently involved with a new Universal Monsters project, so they will not be returning for Ready or Not 2. Instead, ComingSoon.net reports that Escape Room director Adam Robitel will be taking the reins for the sequel. The scoop comes from industry source,...

Sony/Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home is expected to cede its No. 1 four-weekend run to Paramount and Spyglass Media’s Scream over the MLK four-day holiday, the latter eyeing a take that’s in the $20 million-plus range at 3,661 theaters.
There’s a shot that Scream goes higher, but we’ll leave any lofty predictions in this funky pandemic, Spider-Man-dominated marketplace to what 18th century economist Adam Smith called “the invisible hand”. By previous measurements, the best opening for a pure horror movie over the MLK holiday belongs to Universal’s Andy Muschietti directed title Mama which collected $32.1M back in 2013 (I would argue that M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass with a $46.5M start in 2019 was more of a thriller).
In the transition from Paramount studio boss Jim Gianopulos to Brian Robbins, there’s been a lot of chatter out there how the Melrose lot looks to embrace a more...

Exclusive: The Ready Or Not gang of filmmakers Radio Silence and scribes Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, are coming back together to work on the MGM horror high school movie Reunion.
Radio Silence, composed of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella, will direct and produce off a screenplay and story by Busick, who co-wrote the story with Murphy.
Busick and Radio Silence recently were in production on Spyglass Media Group and Paramount’s reboot of Scream, due out 2022.
In Reunion, the horrific experience of high school reunions is taken to a new extreme when a group of uninspired old friends become the only hope for survival against an unwelcome shape-shifting creature.
Project X Entertainment’s William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein (also 2022’s Scream) and Vinson Films’ Tripp Vinson are also producing the film. Tara Farney will executive produce for Vinson Films.
