Comic book fans' dreams are about to come true when two superheroes face off—no, we're not talking about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Arrow's emerald archer and The Flash's scarlet speedster will face off during an epic two-hour, two-night crossover event. But why, oh why, would allies Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) go toe-to-toe? You can thank comic book villain Roy G. Bivolo (Paul Anthony) for that. To get the scoop on the crossover event, EW caught up with executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg:...

The CW’s first major crossover between Arrow and The Flash has it all: epic fight sequences, big secrets, not one but two worthy villains and Felicity Smoak in a PG-13 situation.
Yes, we’ll explain the 911-level emergency plaguing everyone’s favorite It girl in just a moment. But first, the cast and executive producers preview the strange and delightful interactions between the shows’ crimefighting teams, the dangerous enemy putting someone’s beloved in jeopardy and the worst-named villain ever.

Part One Of The Epic Crossover Event With The Flash And Arrow - Barry (Grant Gustin) is thrilled when Oliver (guest star Stephen Amell), Felicity (guest star Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) come to Central City to investigate a case involving a deadly boomerang. Excited about teaming up with his friend, Barry asks Oliver if he'd like to help him stop Ray Bivolo (guest star Paul Anthony), the meta-human Barry is currently tracking. Bivolo causes people to lose control of their emotions and has been using that skill to rob banks. Unfortunately, the superhero partnership doesn't go as smoothly as Barry expected. When Oliver tells Barry he still has a lot to learn, Barry sets out to prove him wrong by attempting to stop Bivolo alone. However, when Bivolo infects Barry and sets him on a rage rampage, everyone is in danger, and the only one...

In the eagerly-awaited new film from the Soska Twins, American Mary, Katharine Isabelle plays Mary, a med student whose tremendous debts and unethical teachers leave her disillusioned with a career she thought she could do good with. But she puts her surgical skills to good use, performing surgeries that traditional doctors would never do, for those in the body modification community.
We spoke with the lovely Katharine about working with Jen and Sylvia Soska, and how American Mary respects those in the body mod community.
How did you get involved with American Mary?
I was sent an email saying that writer-director-identical-twin-horror-movie-chicks are interested in me for their movie. I thought it was a cute schtick but I figured they probably sucked and their movie was terrible. I was just going to read the first couple of pages to say I read it then say “no thanks.” I ended up reading...

We already shared the first trailer, poster(s) and clip from the upcoming American Mary movie. And you liked it, right? Ok then, today we have the first TV spot for the female-centric surgical horror-thriller which comes from Jen and Sylvia Soska, and we definitely recommend you to check it out, ’cause, well… appearances are everything, and this Mary is stylish, artful and darkly funny!
So, as we previously reported, the movie is both written and directed by the Soska Sisters, and centers on a medical student named Mary Mason, played by Katharine Isabelle, as she becomes increasingly broke and disenchanted.
The rest of the story goes like this:
…the allure of easy money sends Mary into the twilight world of body modification and underground surgeries where obsessed flesh artists will pay anything and go through any pain to get their unusual procedures done. But Mary soon finds that her...

The Soska sisters, Jen and Sylvia (Dead Hooker in a Trunk), are preparing their second feature. Their newest horror film, American Mary, deals with underground surgeries. And, Mary is not someone you would likely hire for a quick nip and tuck. The first trailer shows a few surgeries gone wrong. Apparently, Mary (Katharine Isabelle) has dropped out of medical school. She now experiments on a steady stream of clientele. Her results are disturbingly lackluster. Late in the clip, Dr. Josef Mengele is mentioned. If you missed the joke, that is because Mengele has been dead for thirty years now. Previously, he was a Nazi doctor who performed pseudo-science on twins and other concentration camp prisoners. Enjoy the dark humour below. Directors: Jen Soska, and Sylvia Soska. Writers: Jen Soska and Sylvia Soska. Cast: Katharine Isabelle, Julia Maxwell, Antonio Cupo, Connor Stanhope, Paul Anthony, Paula Lindberg and John Emmet Tracy. The...

Suck, which premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, stars Rob Stefaniuk, Jessica Paré, Paul Anthony, Mike Lobel, Chris Ratz, Dave Foley, Henry Rollins, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Carole Pope, and Alex Lifeson; and tells the story of:
Joey (Stefaniuk), the ostensible leader of the Winners, a bar band going exactly nowhere. They’re broke and feuding with one another, and the crappy gigs they’ve managed to cobble together and call a tour are being cancelled. Even their lame manager Jeff (Foley) doesn’t want anything to do with them. Things aren’t much better on the home front. Joey’s permanently enraged girlfriend feels neglected and isn’t thrilled that his ex, Jennifer (Paré), is still in the band. But their luck is about to change.
Picked up by a rather scary goth type, Jennifer shows up the next day looking, well, paler than usual. This...

Suck is a rockumentary in the similar vein as Spinal Tap as characters dumbfoundedly get involved in some sticky situations. The stickiness here is blood. Cameras follow the members of a touring rock band who choose vampiricism to heighten flagging music sales. An off the wall premise is taken into hilarious realms with help from sketch comedian and actor David Foley. Others in the cast and on camera include Malcolm McDowell, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper and many others. Watch the puns fly in this second trailer for Suck below.

New York's Museum of Modern Arts (MoMA), in association with Telefilm Canada, will organize the seventh annual Canadian Front. This event will be held from March 17 to March 24, 2010. Moreover, New Yorkers will have the chance to see nine Canadian films.
Obviously, this event should help Canadian films to find a U.S. distributor and allow New Yorkers to see Canadian films that were completed over the last 18 months. As a matter of fact, it was the Canadian Front event that allowed Bruce McDonald's brilliant zombie film Pontypool to be distributed in the USA by IFC Films for instance.
This year, the Canadian Front has in store two comedies, two dramas, two coming-of-age stories, two documentaries and an old classic. Speaking about that classic, the film in question was directed by Allan King, a Canadian director who left us in June 2009 and whose work was the subject of a MoMA retrospective in 2007. So,...

Some of the most fun I had in a theatre last year came late in the year while at the Whistler film festival. The film screening that night to a full house was none other than Rob Stefaniuk's vampire musical comedy mash-up Suck (review). Admittedly, everyone there had an idea that they were in for something a little off the wall but it's doubtful anyone expected Stefaniuk's newest film to be fabulous.
The director whose Phil the Alien brought him some attention for its wacky, off the wall craziness, goes above and beyond with this mix of animation, cheesiness and catchy music. The film stars Stefaniuk as Joey, the leader of a mediocre band with a super hot bassist names Jennifer played by the (stretch a little people) super hot Jessica Paré. The first time I heard the name Rob Stefaniuk was in conjunction with Phil the Alien, a little Canadian film which was described as “seriously bent.” Anyone familiar with that project may think they know what to expect with Stefaniuk’s directorial follow-up and though they may be prepared for the zaniness, they’re probably not ready for the sheer awesomeness of Suck.
Written, directed and starring Stefaniuk, it’s the story of a band trying to make it in the hard knock music industry. They’re sound isn’t bad but The Winners, led by Joey (Stefaniuk) are playing dives and going no where fast. So fast in fact that they’re manager (Dave Foley thankfully wearing pants for his entire appearance in this film) is asking to be relieved of...
