Monkey D. Luffy, Trafalgar D. Water Law, Marshall D. Teach, and Gol D. Roger. The only common thing between all these One Piece characters except their roles as pirates is the initial D in their middle name. The mysterious initial signifies a Will that is associated with these characters, and its definition has multiple renditions.
Monkey D. Luffy in One Piece | Toei Animation
While some believe that the Will of D links the characters to the devil, others believe that it is a family name that has been passed down for generations. But no one knows the actual story behind it, except for Eiichiro Oda, the manga creator. Multiple theories have been devised to find out what the Will of D could be, but none of them can be termed accurate.
However, there is one theory that might shed some light on the mystery and offer a new perspective on the Will of D.

The "One Piece" live-action adaptation is fantastic, setting a new standard for live-action adaptations of anime and manga. The show takes Eiichiro Oda's beloved and iconic manga and translates it to the screen in a way that is faithful, but also changes things when it makes for a better story — like bringing in Garp earlier and making him an overarching villain for the season. A key element to the adaptation is the cast, which is absolutely perfect and encapsulates why people fell in love with the story in the first place, bringing to life the tale of Monkey D. Luffy and his quest to get a pirate crew that will join him across perilous waters in search of the mythical treasure, One Piece.
Of course, adapting over 90 chapters into a single 8-hour season is bound to leave many things behind, and unfortunately one of those was a beloved character...

A healthy rivalry between manga creators is not a new thing. Especially when you are the creators of two of the Big Three. There was a time, not so long ago, when Tite Kubo and Eiichiro Oda, the biggest mangakas in the industry, were competing for the top spot. Their rivalry led to the succession of their works, Bleach and One Piece, which became industry giants.
One Piece | Toei Animation
However, this healthy rivalry may not have been good for Kubo, as the manga creator once confessed that he developed feelings of jealousy towards Oda because his One Piece manga always stood one step ahead of Bleach. He even went on to say that he hated the mangaka because of this.
But Oda, being the kind soul he is, gave the perfect response to Kubo’s comment and won the hearts of everyone. The manga creator not only confessed that...

The emotional phase of the Egghead Island arc has just started in the One Piece anime, and fans are not ready for it. One Piece episode 1106, which was released on May 25, marked the beginning of the backstory of Bartholomew Kuma and Jewelry Bonney as Bonney entered the Nikyu room and found her father’s memories.
Bonney Enter Kuma’s Memories in One Piece Anime | Toei Animation
The episode has quite a few interesting narratives, like Sentomaru ordering the new Pacifista models to defend their creator (Dr. Vegapunk) from the Navy and World Government, and Morgans announcing to the world that Dr. Vegapunk is kidnapped by the Straw Hat Pirates, and they have gotten into an all-out war with the Navy.
However, the only thing that One Piece fans cared about the most in the episode that left them in emotional turmoil was when Bonney got to see her father in his worst state.

One Piece fans are waiting for a couple of battles that will change the entire course of the story. These battles will likely take place during the final arc, and when they do, they will be some of the biggest fights in the history of anime. Among these fights, the one that fans are waiting for the most is the Zoro vs. Mihawk rematch.
Roronoa Zoro | Toei Animation
Since the beginning, Zoro has been motivated by a single ambition, which is to become the strongest swordsman in the world. For this, he has to defeat the current strongest swordsman, Dracule Mihawk. The two have fought once during the Baratie arc, and Zoro was easily defeated by Mihawk.
Ever since then, he has been training vigorously and waiting for a rematch that will once again give him a chance to finally achieve the title. While Zoro and the One Piece fans waited,...

The Gorosei have attacked with full force and the Straw Hats are having difficulty keeping the oldies at bay. Despite Luffy’s Gear 5 transformation, the battle is leaning towards the Five Elders in One Piece‘s Egghead Island arc.
In this dire situation, it is visible that another power-up is necessary to suppress the Gorosei. But since Luffy is already operating at Gear 5, a new transformation might be on its way from the swordsman of the group, Zoro.
Zoro’s Foreshadowed ‘Cutting Nothing’ Technique
Zoro could be the ultimate savior of the Straw Hats from the danger posed by the Gorosei. However, he would need to master a new ability if he wants his attacks to prove effective against such monsters.

The recent episode of the One Piece anime featured an intriguing battle between the Swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates, Roronoa Zoro, and the mini version of the Strongest Swordsman in the world, Dracule Mihawk. Toei Animation and Eiichiro Oda blessed the fans with another epic moment of Roronoa Zoro, where he went toe to toe with the Seraphim S-Hawk.

The swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece, Roronoa Zoro, is one of the most popular characters in the series. His popularity stems from his extreme talent as a swordsman, his cool attitude, and his loyalty towards his crew, especially his captain, Monkey D. Luffy. Besides Killer, Zoro is the only member of the worst generation who is not a captain.

Fans have loved Zoro since the beginning of the series and have wanted to know more about the character. However, even after 1100+ chapters, very little has been explored about the character by Eiichiro Oda. Fans expected him to explain more about his lineage in the Wano arc but were robbed of this information because of the complexity of the arc.

The latest One Piece episode brought with it a lot of exciting events, but it also may have triggered the fans of the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, Sanji. In episode 1105, which was released on May 18, 2024, fans were able to point out a change in one of the scenes from the manga that resulted in Sanji missing out on his epic moment.
Sanji – One Piece | Toei Animation
This led to fans getting angry with Toei Animation for not doing justice to the character of Sanji, and some even claimed that the studio is biased towards Zoro and favors the swordsman between the two. Zoro and Sanji already have a rivalry going on, and fans believe that cutting out scenes like this undermines Sanji’s importance as a character.
Some fans even targeted the One Piece animator Henry Thurlow, who is part of the One Piece anime staff at Toei Animation.

The rivalry between the wings (Zoro and Sanji) of the future Pirate King, Monkey D. Luffy, has always been one of the most heated discussions among One Piece fans. While one-half of the fandom is always rooting for Zoro and his achievements, the other half is always pointing out the injustice that has been done to the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Eiichiro Oda found both a friend and a direct competitor in the form of Masashi Kishimoto. One Piece has often taken inspiration from Naruto and vice versa. Letting go of hostility, a friendly competition was accepted between the two that let their works grow in fame as each chapter came out. Kishimoto’s work is one that has inspired many. Whether it is the heroes or the villains, even the powers; a lot can be found inspiring.

Unlike The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra had a different approach to its show, as it preferred to follow a more mature protagonist and deal with more layered themes such as politics, class, and Post-traumatic stress disorder (Ptsd). While the 2005 show was labeled as age-neutral, the sequel is more appealing to an older audience, who have an interest in these themes.
Korra
Though the show is undeniably remarkable, full of intricate world-building with three-dimensional characters, it is disliked by a percentage of the franchise’s fans. However, a fan has come forward and mentioned how some of the events featured in the show were quite unnecessary. Created, written, and drawn by Makoto Yukimura, Vinland Saga is a historical epic and a work of true genius. While many series rely on high-stakes action to become massive names, Yukimura’s manga cements its status by making its readers appreciate the great storytelling and the emotional depth it features. At first glance, the manga will look like an action series, taking place in ancient Scandinavia of the Viking Age, showcasing how a young Thorfinn seeks revenge on a mercenary who killed his father.

However, once knee-deep in the series, the readers will find how the series features the theme of fatherhood, honor, and the consequences of violence. Time Skip is one of the greatest narrative aspects used by manga creators like Eiichiro Oda and Masashi Kishimoto. One Piece has always been one of the most popular anime. For the last 25 years, Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus has been ruling over the Shonen genre. Monkey D. Luffy’s journey to become the King of Pirates has taken him through several perilous journeys and the fans have always been a part of it. Everyone knows Luffy as the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika user and the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Due to the mangaka’s habit of creating mysteries, fans often make their own theories. But recently, Eiichiro Oda revealed the original design of Monkey D. Luffy and the fans were not ready for it. Like most creators, Oda sensei had initially thought of different designs for Luffy. When the initial design was published online, fans quickly noticed a major difference between the two versions.

Yoshihiro Togashi’s Yu Yu Hakusho is still considered to be one of the greatest shonen anime and manga series of all time. If you take all the genres in anime and combine them, the result would be One Piece, which has everything one needs. From bewitching battles to very calculated and thought-out arcs, foreshadowing that knows no bounds, or Ost that is going to make you feel like you’re floating.
When we talk about One Piece, we also need to chat about Luffy, as he is the main character of the series and is on a journey to overcome obstacles and become the pirate king. Luffy has become a very popular name among the masses since his debut in anime.

Roronoa Zoro, the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece has been working hard to achieve his dream of becoming the Strongest swordsman in the world. He has defeated some major opponents in the story who are deemed insanely powerful. However, he is still a long way from earning the title.
Roronoa Zoro
According to the narrative, if Zoro wants to accomplish his dream, he will have to defeat Dracule Mihawk, who is the strongest swordsman in the world right now. As of current strength levels, Mihawk is way above Zoro as he is not only insanely strong, but he also wields the only black blade in One Piece, thus making him the final boss in Zoro’s quest.
However, there is a theory that states that Zoro’s final opponent won’t be Mihawk. It will be his own death. And this theory is majorly supported by...

The One Piece manga began publication in 1997 and is still ongoing, with Eiichiro Oda continuing the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates. The series is part of the “Big Three,” alongside Bleach and Naruto, and is one of the most popular and most important animanga titles in history. But, as you might have assumed, One Piece is not Oda’s first work. In fact, the whole world of One Piece was born from a one-shot manga, Monsters, that came out earlier and which featured prototypes of the current characters we’re following in One Piece!
While not as popular as One Piece, Monsters is regarded by many as a cult classic work and an important work in the development of Oda’s big masterpiece, which is why we frequently report on it. This time, we are celebrating the upcoming special DVD release of the Monsters anime adaptation,...

Mihawk is a non-commital antagonist in One Piece. He does fight the Straw Hats but is not interested in a staunch enmity like other villains. He regards Zoro as his rival and is extremely curious to see him grow.
One Piece fans have considered him as a passive pawn who will come into play at the last moment, but it’s hard to determine whose side he will take. Yet, what if his passive nature is not a product of his disinterest, but because he is on another mission entirely?
A wild One Piece theory claims Mihawk isn’t even a human, and somehow the pieces fall into place.
Who or What is Mihawk in One Piece?
According to a fan theory, Dracule Mihawk is the physical manifestation of Yoru, one of the 12 supreme-grade swords in the world. Non-living things often have their own souls in One Piece. You can consider Going Merry,...

Bathing with Nami is a rare opportunity for the Straw Hats in One Piece. Sanji would probably sacrifice Zoro, Luffy, and every guy on the ship just to get a glimpse of her. Yet, when the same was offered to Chopper, he did not even hesitate to turn Nami down.
Why is it so? Is it because he is an animal? Or is it because he is a Devil Fruit user and did not want to get into a deep water bath? Or does he just want to protect his modesty as a boy? Eiichiro Oda has patiently answered all fan questions.

There are thousands of characters in Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, but Nami stands out as a fan favorite. As the navigator for Luffy’s crew, she even ranked top 3 among the most popular anime characters.
However, for years, fans have criticized Nami’s outfits as being too revealing, seeing them as nothing more than fanservice. Nami’s choice of clothing is actually a planned part of how she works.
Nami in One Piece
As the navigator, Nami uses her unique angle and position to her advantage. She doesn’t let it become an obstacle in dangerous situations.
Eiichiro Oda Responded to Fans’ Curiosity with Humor and Caution
Nami isn’t meant to be one of the Straw Hats’ main fighters like Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji. Her role as the navigator is quite different from theirs.

In the anime and manga world, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece is known as the God of foreshadowing. The creator over the period of almost 30 years has introduced many mysteries which has shocked the One Piece fan multiple times. Not only that, they also make the One Piece story interesting.
Imu in One Piece
One such mystery that fans believe to be foreshadowed by Oda is the identity of Imu, the ruler or the “God” of the One Piece world. First introduced in the Reverie arc, Imu is the potential final antagonist of One Piece and although he has not made a full appearance in the series, he has already caused a lot of destruction.
There is a belief among One Piece fans that Imu has been inspired by Egyptian Gods and deities and may have a deeper connection to the Alabasta region of the One Piece world.

Consequently, Oda sensei is often regarded as the greatest mangaka ever.

However, despite his remarkable talent, there is one character in One Piece that he finds challenging to draw. If your guesses are either Zoro or Luffy, you would be mistaken. One Piece fans recently got to witness one of the biggest fights in the Egghead Island arc between Monkey D. Luffy and Rob Lucci. The two characters have fought in the past and fans were excited to see them exchanging blows once again.
Luffy vs Lucci in One Piece
The fight was finally adapted for the anime series with episode 1100 and it was everything that fans expected. However, the fans of Naruto’s spin-off sequel series Boruto were not too happy about the Luffy vs. Lucci fight. They majorly believed that the animation and the editing of the battle were subpar and could not be compared to other One Piece fights.
While the Boruto fanbase criticized the fight for having a low frame rate, One Piece fans soon came to defend their favorite series and humbled Boruto fans in an online discourse on X(Formerly Twitter). They even brought up the famous Naruto vs.

Eiichiro Oda loves to base his stories on the real world. That’s probably why the betrayals and twists in One Piece feel so much more relatable. Many characters in One Piece are inspired or named after pirates who actually existed in history.
From Eustass Kid to Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) the list of inspired pirates is quite long. In fact, even the beloved swordsman Zoro is a member of the club.
Who inspired Zoro’s Last Name in One Piece? Zoro in One Piece
In a fan question-answer session, Eiichiro Oda revealed that Zoro‘s last name was inspired by the “Most Fierce & Cruel Pirate François l’Olonnais of the Caribbean Sea.”
François l’Olonnais was a French pirate, who was active during the 1660s in the Caribbean. The Japanese translation of l’Olonnois is Roronoa, which served as inspiration for Zoro’s last name.

Kagurabachi and One Piece are not really connected, aside from being shonen works published by the same publisher in Japan. But, while the similarities are not that numerous, Kagurabachi author Takeru Hokazono has decided to pay tribute to Eiichiro Oda’s masterpiece in the most recent chapter of his popular manga by having the protagonist of his manga, Chihiro Rokuhira, recreate Roronoa Zoro’s swordsmanship style from Oda’s series.
Such tributes are not uncommon in the world of manga; numerous authors have openly admitted to paying tribute to Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball in their works, regardless of the fact that their works have little in common with Toriyama’s, so this doesn’t come as a surprise. So, what are we actually dealing with here?

One Piece follows the journey of Monkey D. Luffy and his crewmates. Every member of the ship follows their dream and tries to help their comrades in fulfilling their dream. Eiichiro Oda designed the Straw Hat Pirates in such a manner that each one of them has a unique dream but converges at helping Luffy to become the King of the Pirates.

The One Piece manga recently saw the defeat of Rob Lucci, one of the strongest antagonists of the series, at the hands of Roronoa Zoro. Although Lucci was incredibly strong, he could not hold himself in front of the Straw Hat Pirates swordsman. Lucci has come a long way from the Water 7 arc and his character growth over the years makes him one of the best villains of One Piece. And his Devil Fruit abilities certainly add to this title.
Rob Lucci – One Piece
Rob Lucci shocked the One Piece fandom when he introduced the awakened form of his Devil Fruit in his first fight in the Egghead Island arc. His awakened form was first revealed in One Piece Chapter 1069 when he was fighting Luffy and while it did not have a chance against Luffy’s Gear 5, it was extremely powerful making it one of the best Zoan Devil Fruits in the One Piece world.
