Patrícia Vasconcellos is a Brazilian TV journalist and documentarist.
Her documentary about the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests and police response "Curfew in NYC" received multiple awards including Best Short Film (New York Film Awards), Best Director Short Film and Best Social Justice Film (New York International Film Awards), Award of Merit Documentary Short, Social Justice, Women Filmmakers, Writer/Director (Best Shorts) and Honorable Mention Short Documentary (New York Movie Awards). In 2007, Patrícia Vasconcellos produced, filmed and edited "Part of the Story" (Israel/West Bank).
She is the U.S. correspondent for one of the biggest TV networks in Brazil, SBT. Based in Washington DC, she covers the White House and US politics for the Brazilian audience.
In 2021, Patricia Vasconcellos won the Professional Excellence Prize Award from the Association of Foreign Press Correspondents in the U.S. Patrícia is a recipient of the Chevening Award, a scholarship funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office to outstanding emerging leaders from all over the world. She gained her Master's in TV Journalism from University of London.
