Miranda Lambert knows a thing or two about country music awards. She has 38 ACM awards under her belt, including nine consecutive Female Artist of the Year awards. In a recent interview, she said she feels there’s a definite difference between country award shows and other kinds of award shows. That difference lies in how welcoming the people are. And she thinks it has something to do with the location.

Lambert has the most ACM awards out of anyone in the history of country music. And she’s pretty modest about it.
“I don’t know, it sounds really big when you say it like that,” she told Chris Wallace on “Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace?” On HBO Max and CNN when he pointed out the momentous achievement.
She says she’s “so thankful to the Nashville community” for continually recognizing her.

Contains spoilers for "Star Wars: Visions, Volume 2"
For the subset of "Star Wars" fans who had grown weary of the Skywalker Saga, the first volume of "Star Wars: Visions" shorts provided a much-needed respite. The nine-episode anthology re-envisioned "a galaxy far, far away" through the lens of anime storytelling, recruiting nine of the genre's most accomplished studios to put their own spin on George Lucas' original creation. Permitted to disregard canon, each episode felt like a wholly singular story within the "Star Wars" universe, still imbued with the franchise's central themes: forging one's own identity, good versus evil, and the importance of family, whether found or by blood.
In its second volume of vignettes, "Star Wars: Visions" has expanded to include a wider variety of animation styles from studios all over the world, including juggernauts like Aardman ("Wallace and Gromit") and Cartoon Saloon ("Wolfwalkers"). Fans will be excited to see...

When Chris Wallace left Fox News to join CNN a little more than a year ago, he did so in a desire to pursue new avenues. A veteran political anchor, Wallace wanted the chance to interview interesting people outside the confines of politics.
But while Wallace’s CNN+ show fell victim to the streaming platform’s short shelf life, it was rejuvenated and revamped just a few weeks later in the form of Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? And this time, it would be much more widely available. The series would stream full interviews on HBO Max on Fridays, and a condensed one hour version weekly on CNN Sunday nights.
For the third season, debuting today, the CNN TV version will shift to Friday nights at 10 p.m., with HBO Max (soon to be Max) remaining the streaming home for the longform interviews. “The thought was it just lines...

With a long and successful career spanning genres, Mia Farrow may not be considered a horror icon, but she’s certainly deserving of the title in terms of quality over quantity. The two genre efforts in which she starred are exemplary horror movies of their respective eras; while Rosemary’s Baby has been widely lauded since its release in 1968 (Roman Polanski’s personal life controversies notwithstanding), The Haunting of Julia – known internationally as Full Circle – is a hidden gem ripe for rediscovery.
Based on Peter Straub’s 1975 novel Julia, the 1977 British film is directed by Richard Loncraine and written by Dave Humphries (Quadrophenia), with Xtro filmmaker Harry Bromley Davenport receiving a “based on an adaptation by” credit. Although ostensibly a haunted house tale, its ambiguity also allows it to be viewed as a dramatic character study. Scream Factory shines a well-needed light on the atmospheric chiller with a new 4K Uhd + Blu-ray edition.

Exclusive: It’s a year to the day since Rupert Murdoch’s big British television bet TalkTV took flight, hitched firmly to the wings of Piers Morgan.
In the pre-launch marketing blitz, Morgan was pictured as half angel, half devil, but there was little doubt that News Corp’s UK arm thought he would be manna from heaven for television audiences.
“Love him or hate him, you won’t want to miss him,” ran the poster line, dwarfing branding for TalkTV, the new network he was spearheading. The message seemed clear: TalkTV was Piers TV. Morgan vision made real.
It was a mistake. Or at least that’s the view of Richard Wallace, the man who was parachuted in to run TalkTV three months after its launch. “He said very clearly, in front of all staff, that building a TV station around the cult of an individual is not the way to go,...

Tucker Carlson and Fox News have agreed to part ways, the network said Monday. The news came less than an hour before CNN announced that it has split with longtime host Don Lemon.
“Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 Pm/Et starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named,” the network announced.
Carlson’s exit comes less than a week after Fox News agreed to pay $787.5 million to Dominion Voting Systems to settle the election software company’s defamation claim. Carlson was to be among the witnesses to testify if the case had come to trial.
A Fox News spokesperson declined to comment on what triggered Carlson’s exit. A host for tonight’s Fox News Tonight has not yet been named.

Deadline’s Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament took a hiatus during the pandemic as movie theaters closed for the majority of 2020-2021 and theatrical day-and-date titles on both the big screen and studios’ respective streaming platforms became more prevalent. Coming back from that brink, the studios have largely returned to their theatrical release models and the downstream monies they can bring. Not to mention their power in launching IPs around the world with big global marketing campaigns. When it comes to evaluating the financial performance of top movies, it isn’t about what a film grosses at the box office. The true tale is told when production budgets, P&a, talent participations and other costs collide with box office grosses, and ancillary revenues from VOD to DVD and TV. To get close to that mysterious end of the equation, Deadline is repeating our Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament for 2022, using data culled by seasoned and trusted sources.

Part of the joy of Star Wars: Visions is, you never know quite what you’re going to get when you load up an episode. Lucasfilm’s anthology series lets animation houses present their own unique spin on the galaxy far, far away – taking any characters, any settings, any imagery from George Lucas’ sprawling space opera and doing whatever feels right or interesting with them, canon be damned. Think of it like a remix compilation, with wildly creative spins on familiar material from fascinatingly varied voices. Where Volume 1 of Visions was comprised solely of Japanese anime studios, Volume 2 is going worldwide – including a contribution from British stop-motion legends Aardman.
While there’s no Wallace and Gromit or Feathers McGraw here, Aardman’s short ‘I Am Your Mother’ (see what they did there?) is set in the aftermath of the original trilogy, and tells the story of wannabe-pilot Twi’lek tween...

“Star Wars” is getting fully animated once again. The new trailer for Season 2 of “Star Wars: Visions,” the animated anthology series, has released out of London’s Star Wars Celebration convention.
Season 2 of “Star Wars: Visions” will release on May 4, which is known as Star Wars Day among the fans (“May the Fourth be with you”). The nine animation studios that worked on Season 2 are El Guiri, Cartoon Saloon, Punkrobot, Aardman, Studio Mir, Studio La Cachette, 88 Pictures, D’Art Shtaijo with Lucasfilm and Triggerfish.
The contributors’ previous credits are impressive this season. Cartoon Saloon is a five-time Oscar-nominated animation studio, most recently for “Wolfwalkers” on Apple TV+; Aardman is known for the stop-motion, claymation characters from “Wallace and Gromit”; Studio Mir has worked on hit shows like “The Legend of Korra” and “Harley Quinn”; just to highlight a few of the teams’ projects.

Are you ready for the last-ever Arrowverse team-up?
The CW has dropped a trailer for The Flash Season 9 Episode 9, which brings several fan favorites back to Central City one last time.
The highly-anticipated episode brings Stephen Amell back into the mix as Oliver Queen, aka Green Arrow.
It's a big deal because Oliver died at the end of Arrow.
So, how is all of this possible, you ask?
The multiverse remains a big problem for the characters on The Flash Season 9, so we're probably seeing another Earth's iteration of Oliver.
Then again, this universe tends to throw big curveballs at viewers, so we should probably wait until the episode airs on April 26 to speculate.
The special episode also includes David Ramsey, Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West/Kid Flash), and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork).

The Flash is currently in the midst of its ninth and final season, but the series finale is quickly approaching. While speaking with TVLine, The Flash star Grant Gustin answered fan questions, including if he was happy with where Barry Allen ends up at the end of the series.
Grant Gustin replied that he was, but shared that he always imagined the series ending with Barry’s death. “When I thought about [The Flash] ending, there was a theory out there that Barry would sacrifice himself to keep the Speed Force alive and become the lightning bolt that inevitably struck him [in the pilot] and create this full circle moment, which I thought was really cool,” Gustin said. “I kinda always wanted him to die a hero’s death in a way, and Eric [Wallace] was very opposed to the idea, and we really wanted to see a happy ending for Barry and Iris.

"Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" remains one of the best video game adjacent movies ever, one that captures the aesthetic and the essence of leveling up and defeating bosses, all while also being, along with "Speed Racer" and "Alita: Battle Angel," one of the best live-action anime movies, even though this one is not based on an anime.
Edgar Wright's second most underrated film (after "The World's End") exudes style, is presented through a very specific lens, and if you get on its wavelength, it results in a phenomenal cartoony experience and a great adaptation of the comic series by Bryan Lee O'Malley. And yet, as well as the film captures the anime aesthetic, there are things that just don't quite work in live-action. It is great news, then, that this story is finally making its way to the medium it was always meant to be told in — anime.

Ashton Kutcher has been making people laugh for over two decades. Through the years, he’s formed close relationships with people he’s worked with, even marrying one of his co-stars from early in his career. But a little over a decade ago, Ashton Kutcher starred in No Strings Attached and worked with a rapper who didn’t seem to appreciate Kutcher’s take on his music.

Clean Slate follows old-school and outspoken car wash owner Harry Slate (Wallace), who is thrilled his estranged child is finally returning home to Alabama after 17 years away. However, he has a lot of soul-searching to do when the child he thought was a son returns as the determined, proud, trans woman Desiree (Cox).
Uzoukwu will play Louis, a closeted gay choir director at the local church who the older female congregants insist on trying to fix up. He’s a close childhood friend of Desiree, and the only person who gives her a genuinely heartfelt welcome home.

I used to read a lot of strip-comics collections: I assembled a full set of Doonesbury back in the day, kept up with Dilbert until the writing on the wall was too obvious to ignore [1], and had multiple books from probably a dozen other currently-running strips over the years. But, somehow, the past decade or so has made that seem old-fashioned. Maybe because of so many re-runs and legacy strips, maybe because of just the weight of time.
Will Henry’s Wallace the Brave is probably the first newspaper strip where I’ve read two collections in…ten years? More or less? So I may end up grumping about some aspects of the strip, because what I apparently do best is grump, but let me underline that first: I like this a lot more than just about anything else I’ve seen in a newspaper for a bunch of years.

The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden said his former co-star Eva Longoria’s recent comments about soap operas were “derogatory”.

Actress Eva Longoria has a mighty powerful fan base who is standing by her after her former “The Young and the Restless” co-star Eric Braeden said she made “derogatory remarks” about soap opera actors in an interview with Chris Wallace.
The “remarks” she made came during an appearance Friday on CNN and HBO Max’s “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” when he showed a clip from 2001 of Longoria on the CBS daytime soap near the start of her career.
“You got your first break 20 years ago when you were cast on a very popular soap opera, ‘The Young and the Restless,’” Wallace began, introducing the clip.
“Oh, God, don’t show a clip! Are you going to show a clip of that?” she laughed.

“Eva Longoria: you just made derogatory remarks about daytime actors!” Braeden, 81, tweeted on Sunday. “You simply weren’t good enough to survive the pressures of this medium! You were very lucky to get on that ‘housewife’ show! You did one show in 8-12 days, with mediocre but salacious dialogue!”

War is a living nightmare, wreaking its destruction on innocent lives and civilizations. It casts deep wounds that shape our history, present circumstances, and potential prospects for the future.
War has been a central theme in all of human history since its inception. It inspires both captivation and terror, with stories of bravery, resilience, and courage, as well as violence and death. It is the peak of danger – where any semblance of safety or security ceases to exist for those who fight. All that remains are humanity’s yearning for survival against insurmountable odds.
Hollywood has no shortage of war films meant to both awe and educate. Some promote the best humanity can offer as people come together for a common cause. Others reveal the horrific truth behind conflict’s brutality and man’s capacity for harm on an unimaginable scale.

Chris Wallace, being the “Succession” fan that he is, asked his “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” guest, Brian Cox, to grace him with his signature line from the show – meaning, the newsman wanted to be told to “f— off.”
“Your line is, and I’d rather have you say it than me,” Wallace began, only for Cox to quickly jump in with his “Succession” character’s infamous signature line, “F— off.”
“I kinda hoped that before this interview is over you’ll say it to me,” Wallace responded slyly.

Jessica Alba says she amped up her “masculine energy” while working in Hollywood before the #MeToo movement as a young actress to prevent people from preying on her.
While appearing on the latest episode of Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?, Alba spoke about her decision to leave Hollywood after having started acting in her early teens and navigating the industry as a woman before launching The Honest Company, which sells baby, personal and household products.
After watching a clip of her acting in Sin City, Alba says that she ultimately understood why her sexuality was part of marketing films she worked “as a business decision and a strategy” and thus was “able to distance myself from it.” She added that as a performer, “You can’t change other people’s minds about what they may or may not think of you.” However, she has no regrets about portraying her sexuality.

The following contains The Flash spoilers.
The Flash Season 9 Episode 1
The end of an era is upon us. After nine seasons, over 170 episodes and what feels like an endless assortment of speedsters, rogues, and various other metahumans, The Flash will end at the conclusion of its ninth season. And while the show is, thankfully, at least getting the chance to go out on its own terms, it’s still hard not to grieve its loss—particularly when both the genre and network it helped establish are in such a state of severe flux.
On the plus side, the season 9 premiere “Wednesday Ever After” is one of the series’ best episodes in ages, an hour that fully embraces the bright tone, genuine humor, and huge heart that have always been so key to this show’s identity. The episode deftly balances entertaining comedy with emotional heft, setting up themes and character...

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the Season 9 premiere of The Flash on The CW.
The Flash is nearly done fighting crime in Central City — but not before one final villain comes to town.
The CW series’ ninth and final season kicked off Wednesday night with the introduction of some new hurdles for Barry Allen and Team Flash to overcome. The episode begins with Barry and Iris (Candice Patton) getting stuck in a time loop, which exacerbates some of their fears about the passing of time and the lack of control they have over what may or may not happen to them. In order to get out of it, the couple must decide to take on life head on, together — rather than avoiding the problem and each other.
But just when things seem to be settling down again, Barry is faced with yet another bump in the road. Viewers will remember that,...

The following contains The Flash spoilers.
The Flash Season 9 Episode 1
While The Flash Season 9 premiere was a light-hearted romp of the sort that we haven’t seen on this show in some time, the kick-off to the series’ final run of episodes included more than a few tantalizing hints of what’s to come in the weeks ahead, from new villains to a strange new being—who definitely isn’t Frost—that seems to suddenly be inhabiting the body Caitlin Snow’s body as a result of her trip into her homemade cryochamber.
Although “Wednesday Ever After” introduces former The 100 star Richard Harmon as a new, post-Crisis on Infinite Earths version of Owen Mercer (a.k.a. Captain Boomerang), the episode’s final moments reveal that he’s not working alone and that his literal partner in crime is someone who looks much more familiar—but is likely a whole lot more dangerous.

Andy Cohen is usually the one asking the questions but the tables were flipped when The Real Housewives executive producer made an appearance on HBO Max’s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?
Chris Wallace put Cohen in the hot seat when he brought up The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah, who was recently sentenced to 6.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to a telemarketing fraud scheme.
